i didnt bother to click the link but from what ive seen in the trailers and pics of FF12, it looks like its gonna be another mediocre game. and can they please make a main character that doesnt look like a goddamn girl? jeez, the past 3 games had main characters that looked like girls. Zidane looked like a girl, Tidus is just the most annoying bitch ever, and now we got Vaan that looks like tidus and zidane mixed together. whatever happened to the badass characters like Cloud and Squall?

You have a point, but I don't think the fact that the main character looks like a girl will bring down the game...I mean, you have to realize that this is Squares most popular franchise, and they won't mess with it. They will deliver a quality game. I know it.

yeah i know, wtf were they thinking when they released FFX-2, give me a break. square does not make FF's the way they used to, its obvious. its all about flash value now. they need to release another FF with a badass knight as the main character. ff12 does look good, but im tired of seeing them make pansy looking main characters. ive said it once before, even though the storyline would be different, i wouldve been much more happy if Auron was the main character in FFX. the last awesome FF that came out was 8, and 9 was pretty good. my favorite was FF3/6, thats one of those games that are just amazing, and there was like 12 characters(with about 5 or 6 being main characters) and most of them had pretty elaborate backstories. thats just my opinion on it.

I'd be seriously disappointing if they **** on the voice acting like they did with FFX. I mean, it was great for the most part, and even more impressive for a Japanese game, but seriously Tiduses voice sucks as does Yunas (the rest of the voices fit the cast perfectly).

If they have Vaan have a little deeper voice, that would be great.

To be totalyl honest with you though, I did like the story of FF 10, it was pretty cool, and I think one of the best storylines out there in gaming and in the Final Fantasy series. But don't hold me up to it since I've only played from 7-10 (excluding online).

And you're right, the story line is a bit more serious this time. I heard its a love story, which is fine by me. I like love stories (when done right, not any love story).

EDIT: The battle system worried me at first, but I remember that I played Final Fantasy for its sweeping storylines (sometimes tear inducing, you have to give Square credit for FF10 and 7) and epic tales. It shoudl bother me too much.

But I agree its something totally different for the series. We'll have to see how that works out.

haha, Barret always reminded me of Carl Winslow form Family Matters. Just imagine FF7 with Barret's voice as him. by the way, if you can find it, get the FF collection with FF3/6 in it. It's either Anthology or Chronicles, but one of them has that on it, its great. The only problem is thers load times and coming from a system that had no loading times at all(SNES) it was quite annoying, but there was FMV's. :thumb:

dont worry, FF3/6 was a huge breakthrough in the storyline department in my opinion. FF2 for the united states was so dumbed down compared to the japanese version. but FF3 was the complete original storyline, I beleive it was the first time a FF story was ever tamper-free with in the translation and localization process. Its a very long game if you choose to seek out everything, and there are some very badass characters in the game. Look for Edgar, Setzer, Shadow, Sabin, and Cyan. These guys are so awesome in the game. Not to mention get ready to experience probably the best music in any FF game(if you can stand it, it still sounds pretty good for the SNES). :thumb: al ot of the music from the game is famous. :thumb:

Which is one of the main reasons im not bothering with it. plus, i hate MMORPG's. i'd rather have a good single player rpg with an incredible storyline that has an ending, not one where its open ended and stupid people are like "LOLZ I LOK YER SWORD, ASL?!!!!!"

Err, it was released like 8 months ago. And I'm 99% sure you still have to pay monthly to play. I would see no reason why they wouldn't have a monthly fee on PS2 and have one on the computer :confused:. It's a fun game, but it got old to me after like 4 months or so. Way too much of a timesink in that game.

Yeah, there are some parts in the game will have some text that will make you go " :amaze: " but there so few and far between that it doesnt affect the game at all. im glad someone else shares the same view on the story as i did. :thumb:

I think Square's best game as far as storyline goes is Xenogears. That game was great.
