I was just playing a game of Halo 2 via XBC. It's awesome. The downside is that it only supports games that have a system link mode. But i like it, and it plays very smoothly, considering that my D/L speed is capped to snail speed.

Unless you plan on getting XBLive anyway, don't sign up for the two month free trial.
You won't want to ever go back to xbc.

Yea, it tells you to plug it into the computer for one of the things and if you have DSL, you have to put it into the Ethernet thing if you want it to work better...sometimes idk I've never set it up.
How much is XBL now?
I bought it originally when it first came out... Dunno how much the renewal is.
But this XBC is pretty ok :)

How much is XBL now?
$70
I can't hook up my X-Box to my computer because they're in seperate rooms, so I can't get XBC. I don't have almost $100 to burn on XBL, so I can't get that either. Do you know much it sucks having Halo 2 and not being able to play it online? :(

Well, if it comforts you any, with purchase of Halo 2 you receive a 2 month trial subscription to XBox Live. I don't plan on buying Xbox live anytime soon, but mostly pending if I go to Rome for a semester. If not, I'd say it's definitely worth buying if you plan on playing a lot of games. Since Fifa 2005 also just came out, as well as the new Call of Duty, I'm definitely going to buy Live if I'm here next semester.

XBConnect usually works pretty well, and I do like the fact you can have a say in what games you'll play instead of most times being dumped into a big battle in a random game. What sucks is that nobody plays anything besides Halo or Halo 2 on XBConnect, 'cause there are a few games I'd like to see played on there as well.
Plus, it's difficult to connect to some other members because of your/their firewall. As a whole, I think XBConnect's great though, just because I've met a lot of great players on XB.
