I am studying computer game development at university. I am learning how to design games, programming, graphics etc.
I was wondering if anyone else is studying computer games/hobbyist game programmer or thinking of taking a course in computer games? If you have any games you have created show us all in here :thumb:I have one I have been working on for a few weeks for uni. I'll post it soon once I have finished it.

That's really awsome man. Respect +. I am in a computer programming class at a different school. It's my second year and I've decided that game designing isn't what I thought it was after toying with VB and C++.
I'm much more into web design and at the moment am doing a huge project, designed a web forum from scratch(vbullitin is genius). Its a two person project that will probably be done before the end of the school year, I hope.
When the guys in my class get their Flash game done I will post it on here, it is VERY impressive, the coder is amazing with action script and the game is looking very good!
What is your game about and what are you using to design it??

Thanks :thumb: It’s basically just your average shoot'em up. You lead an advance human war fleet trying to conquer planets. It’s just a project so I can show off everything I know. I have included 3 different AI algorithms which are amazing if I do say so myself, nice little rendering techniques, and a really good, albeit small physics engine for the ships and debris. I used Visual C++ and DirectX 9.0 API.

Physics Engines own :)
That sounds very impressive, how many years have you coded?
*excited to play*
i'd be happy to even play a beta or anything

I've been programming for about 3 or 4 years... can't remeber now. I started with VB, then Java and then with C++. I have also played with other languages like assembly but I'm still learning. I could use a tester I suppose to try and help me fix all them bugs. Let me download the source code from my university computer and I'll compile it and post it soon. Remember this is still a rough version so its not at release quality yet

I play beta's all the time and have just as much fun with Pong as I do at GTA so I can deal with it...

Remember, gameplay counts more than graphics!

what university do you go to?
after reading about digipen and full sail in EGM, i was actually afraid of game design schools.

I go to UEL which is in London. Its not a specialised computer game university. I think America are the only place to have them!
