5 string

i just got a dwb35 ibanez 5 string. i've never had a 5 string. what do you suggest i tune the 5th string to? it came as C and i tuned it to B,but its not that drastically different. oh and i am excited about my 6 string, i mean i've been playing since about 4th grade,but a 6 string must be wild. hmm alright well yeah. oh and also pat kays is a very sick bassist. i love his style

"Standard" 5-string is supposed to be BEADG, but some people tune it EADGC.

depends on the scale - my cort is a 34" so the B is a little floppy hence i often have it as CEADG, if it 35/36" the B should be kosher.

if your bass came tune EADGC keep it that way if it came BEADG keep it that way , do not switych between the two

Hi Ive Got An Ibanez Ergodyne Eda 905,
I Just Got It At X Mas, I Tune Mine To B E A D G However I Also Have Another 5 String Bass I Tune To E A D G C Both Sound Great So Its Really Whatever Sound You Like The Most.
I Prefer The Deeper Tones So I Mainly Use B E A D G, I Play Blues Mainly So It Works In Nice.
