Ok, what in game movies are the most memorable? I'm talking about hardhitting scenes, such as Aeris dying :upset: . Things of that nature.

yeah, ff7 has most of them, sephiroth in the firem aeris dying, the end scene. Other then that, Onimusha has some good ones, Ninja Gaiden has its fair share of amazing scenes, MGS of course. FF7 is on top though, best game ever.

Yeah, The village burning in Ninja Gaiden was pretty cool, along with some of the later scenes.
MGS2 has had its fair shair of WTF?! moments (president grabbing raidens crotch thinking he was a chick anyone?) :)
But FF takes the cake for sheer amzingness. Its impossible to pick out a favorite, but FFVIII's intro is **** cool, (Liberi Fatali is awsome) and the Operation Mihen in FFX (all those poor soldiers... Sniff)
The recent Ace Combat 5 had some cool scenes too.
My favorite all time scene ever is in Xenosaga, where Albedo rips off his head and throws it at Momo. The Jap version is so much cooler. :)

I love the sene in MGS were you meet and both kill Psycho mantis. He is one SOB. Of course when you meet the ninja in MGS is always a classic. Also in MGS2 were the hand of Ocelot starts taking control of him. WEIRD.

WarCraft 3 movie where Grom Hellscream and the shaman orc (I forget his name) attack the demon that was controlling the orcs.
Diablo II and Lord of Destruction movies, Tyrael looks awesome.
FFVII - Sephiroth burning Nibelheim, taking Jenova, killing Aeris, final movie, etc
FFIX - Part where Vivi shoots down one of those flying things with a fireball.
FFVIII - Squall's attack on the sorceress Edea

Yea that sounds like it. The guy who leads the orcs from when you start the orc campaign. It was sweet seeing him charge up his hammer and hurl it.
The movies from Kingdom Hearts looked great too.

I would like to start off with probably the most shocking cut scene I have seen in a video game. In Clock Tower 3 you get to a point early on and there's a cut scene where you see a mad man chasing a little girl with a sledge hammer and you're like "Oh, I guess I'm gonna have to save her" and just as you think that WHAM! Hammer connects with skull and you see little girl with bleeding head fall down stairs. I did not see that coming.
Diablo 2 -
The opening video to LOD, the barbarian just eats it and go you "wtf omg!"
Starcraft -
The one where they set up the nuke in the science vessel and are attacked by zergs and set it off.
Also, the one video with the best line ever in the game "That's a Zergling Lester"
FFX -
Opening blitzball followed by the Sin's destruction was amazing and the ending of FFX is the most emotional cut scene I have ever seen in a videogame(I really got caught up in the love story sorry) , it's a real tear jerker.
RE2 -
I like the opening scene ending with the nice big rig crash and how there's 2 different perspectives of it from Claire and Leon.

An MGS fan, excellent. Pretty much all of the MGS1 cut-scenes are good, like when Meryl gets shot by Sniper Wolf, when you kill Psycho Mantis (I agree with you there), when Grey Fox/Ninja helps you fight Rex and then gets killed, and the end where Liquid Snake explains everything to you just before you fight him.

O hell yes. MGS is a major mind ****. I literally fell out of my chair when Meryl died.
Grey Fox's death was classic too.

I love all the FF 7 and on movie scenes.
But some of the best quality are Silent Hill 3 and 4. If you have not played Silent Hill, play those, holy mother of pearl, awesome stuff.

Sephiroths scene in which he detatches Jenovas head, that was awesome for its time. I also love Metal Gear Solids first cutscenes, they are great.

I agree that Ninja Gaiden has some great FMV. I really like the one when your on top of the blimp thing and you have to fight that huge guy. FF's are normally very good for FMVs.

The two parts that really got me was when Tidus found out Yuna's "duty" as a summoner, and when Yuna was givin a speech to everyone at the end.
Edit: Also the part in Xenosaga where Virgil blew up those realians.

Ok, what in game movies are the most memorable? I'm talking about hardhitting scenes, such as Aeris dying :upset: . Things of that nature.
1)FFVIII definately has the best cutscenes in any videogame.
-Intro-come on, theres no greater intro than that, incredible
-ending-nice, long, and extremely emotional
-garden battle-this entire peice of the game is just awesome, this includes Squall's speech to his fellow students
-launching into space
-escape from dollet
-the whole parade part
2)FFX had some pretty nice cutscenes as well
-Assault on Bevelle?-thep art when tidus and the gang slide on the railing down onto the wedding area, i got the chills when i first saw that
-yuna jumping off building-when Valefore saves her from the building, its pretty cool
-the mihen battle
-intro-pretty cool intro, with the heavy metal song and auron walking around, blitzball
-evacuating home
3)FFVII, i can only remember a few memorable scenes, everybody loves this game, i liked it, but not as much as the other ones.
-the intro was definately memorable
-the scenes when you find out cloud's true past as a guard that wasnt actually in soldier
-the mako cannon
4)zelda ocarina of time
-opening of the marble door in the temple of time
-drawing the master sword for the first time-i remember getting chills when i first saw this
-the ending
-some of the intro scenes
-young link standing up to ganondorf like a true badass after chasing zelda and impa out of the castle.
-the final blow on top of ganons tower, so badass-if anyone ever says zelda or nintendo is kiddy, just show them this.
there are so many games that have awesome cutscenes, ill edit this post or post again with more.

WW had a pretty nice end sequence.
OOT has the most beutiful opening ever, when then the menu screen comes up with link and epona in hyrule field. Amazingly peacful.
FF8 has loads of great scenes, I epecially like the way they have CGI while you still playing. I remember a scene at the desert prison when you are running over a boardwalk, the camera is at a birdseye view and you can see the prison starting to move. The sand is all twisting and it looks breath taking.
FF9 when all the black mages get destroyed in slow motion, extreamly emotional even though your not really connected to the characters. All the scenes when the summons attack the towns. First time you meet Kuja on the dragon. When the bomb blows up the airship at the beginning.
FF7 has the motor bike scene which is pretty cool, and when you see Barret lose his hand. Not much else that I found to be that great.
Onimusha, quite simply wins. The opening scene to one is great, the opening scene to two is brilliant and the opening scene to three is possibly the best scene I have ever watched. (That includes movies)
Soul calibor 2 and Soul Blade also have really cool openings, and DOA3 fights scene for Jean Lee.

D2 had really good cutscenes I think, too.
As did the first Max Payne... the graphic novel method they used appealed to me..

I would have to say that I thought the scene in Full Spectrum Warrior when you find the barrial site was pretty exciting. Maybe only to me because that kind of stuff really gets to me.

FFVIII - Squall's attack on the sorceress Edea
The part when he leaps off the building and slices that soldier is too sweet. I think 8 had my favorites.

I love the opening to ff7, i just love the look of midgar and whenever i see that video i get all nostalgic, and i love the part in ff8 when they cruise over to dollet near the beginning.
Another favourite would be Metal Gear Solid, all the scenes when you kill a boss and they tell you there story, i was dissapointed with the dead cell bad guys in sons of liberty, they were no where near as cool as foxhound.

This one hasn't been mentioned yet... Parasite Eve. Made in 1998 and the cutscenes were amazing. Just to give you an idea, I beat the game in 4 hours and its 2 discs long. Thats how many detailed cutscenes are on it.

halo 2 did have beautiful cutscenes, the content of them can be questionable, but looks, they were amazing.
warcraft 3 had great action cutscenes.
doom 3 has the scariest cut-scenes. not all out scary, but chillingly good looking visuals with their use of shadows. even game play is near cinematic quality which is unbelievable.
