Has anyone at mx got or played this game yet? is it any good? dont compare it to san andreas as i know it wont be anywhere near as good as that but is it worth buying, im thinking about getting it as i have just had a newsletter through from game and informed that i have 20 pounds discount on my card.

well not 2 compare it, but if you already have san andrea's i wouldn't bother, wait for GT4 and get that instead


did it just come out??? cause the only reason the first one did good was because its timing was between the gta series releases and people like myself who just wanted to go drive around and kill people needed another source

Well they are pretty different games, the getaway plays nothing like GTA3. Much more linear, i dont know about Getaway 2 though.

oh my god! how in the world did getawat black monday get an 8 in ops2? this game deserves nothing but a steaming turd, its horrible! this game is the worst game i have played all year, was it rushed? what is the excuse for this crap, the camera makes the game unplayable, aiming is non exsistant as it does it all for you and aiming by holding r2 is just impossible, everything about this game is terrible, the frame rate as your driving is horrid, the first thing i noticed was WTF is wrong with this dudes head! the guy who you control at the start 'mitch' has a very disproportioned head, its like a 'giant head' mode in the tony hawks games. This game is just pure shat, they think they can fill an empty void with swearing and hope it will do well. And to top it all it crashed for no reason as i was driving. Worst game of the year? yes. How long did it take team soho to make this game, probably 5 minutes maybe 6. Needless to say ill be returning it to GAME tomorrow.

^ yeah i bought it yesterday, played it last night and returned it this afternoon. I decided on paper mario 2 as i already have all the best games out and the urbz doesnt really appeal to a flock-hating guy like me. You can never go wrong with a mario game and i love rpg's so it should be pretty good. Anyone even considering buying getaway black monday, dont, dont even rent the **** thing, team soho should have their developers equiptment confiscated.

no problem. There are actually people out there buying this game as it is top of the ps2 chart in GAME?? there has to be alot of p i s s e d ps2 gamers out there right now, unless theyre to **** stupid to realise how bad it is.

Team Soho should have stopped making games with Alien Breed and Alien Breed 2.

GAME do a ten day return guarantee thing where you can return a game after 10 days. pretty cool huh. ive always thought it was pretty dumb because that would mean 40 pounds could get you a lifetime of free games aslong as you dont plan on keeping them, you could buy a game, keep it for 10 days by which time you would have probably finnished it and then swap it for another, but i collect games so it wouldnt work for me as you would have to return every game but i think GAME have worked out that people might think about doing this as the girl who served me wrote a little note on the top of my receipt saying 'once returned' or somthing. It could easily be torn off though.

first off, the first one was garbagecrap. They tried to make it super realistic, but that severely hurt it in the end. boring game imo. im not even gonna bother with the 2nd one.

and im gonna compare to GTA SA right now.......

I dont see the point in really buying it if its not as close to being good as san andreas. same thing with true crime, another crappy gta ripoff. ill probably rent it.

the getaway is a pretty good game, i haven't played the new one, but i enjoyed the last one.

the only reason people say it's bad is because it's compared to GTA, when actually, they are both very different. the Getaway being more of a cinimatic game, trying to make you grow to love the characters (which GTA does do anyways), but they also go for realisim.

either way, if this was out before GTA, people wouldn't be so hard on it.

i could never grow to love a guy with a head three times the size of what it should be. plus the cut-scenes are cack. Even if the game isnt compared to gta its still crap, the driving is unbelievably bad and the shooting is terrible. it just made me want to switch off straight away which is not really what a videogame should do. It litterally screamed at me 'Turn off and take me back, i suck!'

hmm i thought the first getaway was ok and it was a quite challenging game even if it was short, i prefer the more realistic graphics to those of GTA which IMO look a little cartoony. so san andreas reviews look awesome so ill probably get that at the weekend :D
