alright, i have another question...i said in a previous post i've just gotten into recording my own stuff as a solo artist. since i'm solo and only recording one instrument at a time, do i need a mixer with more than 2 or 4 channels. i've seen some behringer mixers on musicians friend, if anyone has suggestions for a low priced mixer (like $60 or less), suggest some good ones for recording to my computer...

Just a mixer, with no tape deck? musicians friend is probably your best shot.

You can get like a 2 mic 2 line mixer (phonic) for ~£40

Um...tape deck. Where you would put the tape! hehe. I have an 8 channel mixer with a built in tape deck so that i can put a tape in and record on four tracks, which uses both sides of a standard cassette. If it doesnt have a built in deck, you would have to have other means of recording the mix , like a computer or a seperate deck. No big deal. most people are running into a computer or something nowadays. My deck is broken on mine but it still works as a mixer.

oh i see now, well i am using a computer. does that mean i can just get a low channel mixer since i record one thing at a time and that will be good enough?
