Which program do i need to get "metal" voice?

Like in death metal and most metal. Like a distorted/pitched voice. Example like The Bled, As I Lay Dying, Children of the Bodom, Alexisonfire,Atreyu.... i think you get the point.. well i wanted to know with which program(s) i could do that?

It's the wrong forum. and if you want a fashioncore voice you can just sing like that.

people only use effects when its super low like on intros to some cradle cds most people can actually sing like that

work your voice, a lot. it took me about 6 months to get my voice to a state that could scream like that. the band 'brand new' is a good starter to get your voice up there. work on 'thursday' and 'the used' songs. those two bands take a lot out of your voice. you don't want to start with songs that are just a bunch of screaming. it will kill your throat. i can do covers of alexisonfire songs now, a year ago i had trouble singing nirvana songs. my old guitarist uses a guitar distortion pedal to change his voice. i hate him for that. just work hard and you'll get there.

yeah i can sing like that, ive been practicing my voice for like, dunno maybe more than 2 years, still when recorded it sounds ugly.I know they use somekind of effects on their voice.

Ya screams and growls just takes work your voice will get use to it and you will be able to do it easy just start on song that dont have much

well you know there are songs by bands that dont have as much if you want to us COB us the album Hate Crew Death roll since his vocals arnt as harsh

alex from atreyu can scream like that, so can all those other bands, except for maybe cradle of filth... who suck :)

to get a less growly scream, and more of an as i lay dying scream you need to perfect what is called "falsetto screaming", which is the way you can get a really high, or a really breathy sounding scream, because it comes from your chest and not your diaphragm.
a growl comes more from you diaphragm, and you push from the back of your throat

it took me about 3 months to get alex from atreyus type screaming down, and i have a better range than him, so it all just depends on the person.

what you are gonna need is:
an empty house,
a CD player
a computer with microphone
LOTS OF WATER (if you dont drink water you are gonna **** up your voice soooo bad, trust me)

then just start screaming, youll eventually figure it out. theres also some screaming tips in the jam session forum i think.
