I have only been writing songs for a few months. I have never shared any of them so please keep any criticism positive.
In Your Void
I’ll be standing right there,
Calling out your name,
As the seasons change around me.
A glimmer of hope,
In the darkness that’s ravaging me.
Well it’s nothing I’ll forget,
And I’m sure it’s nothing you’ll ever know.
(chorus)
An echo of your voice,
Still ringing in my mind.
Won’t you stay a while.
A glimmer of your face,
I still see when I close my eyes.
In your void, I’ve lost myself.
I’ll still be standing right there,
Recalling those old times,
As I grow old and years pass by.
The hope is fading,
And the darkness is still tearing me apart from outside.
Well it’s nothing I’ll want to remember,
And it’s nothing you’ll ever know.
(chorus)
So I’ll travel to that dark place,
To seek some solitude and some space.
But what good is emptiness,
When it’s loneliness you’re running away from.
The silence is becoming deafening,
I wish the pain was lessening.
Keeping these feelings held up,
I’ll return to the cold,
Still trying to escape this tortured soul.
Ignored these feelings all my life,
Now’s the time to make this right.
(chorus)
I’ll travel to that dark place,
Looking at the moonlight on the waves,
Waiting for the sunrise to clear the sky,
Of the doubt and darkness in my heart.
Returning my hope and sight,
Time seems to stand still,
Only in that dark place.
Ignored these feelings all my life,
Now’s the time to make this right.
It’s nothing I’ll ever want to remember,
And it’s nothing you’ll ever know.
Now’s the time to make this right.
