A friend and I wrote this. Please tell if its good/bad. If you think anything should be changed please tell also..

realize-all the lies
that you learn about every sunday
reject the nails-and the storytails
its not like they matter anyway

just forget it-all the bull****
they're all just a bunch of inside jokes
unbelieveable-just for the unstable
something to wake up to, just a big hoax

what you wake up to-its nothing too new
just a little wish thats wasted and let go
you still idolize-the one who you wont' recognize
you love someone youve never met, someone you dont know

give up your hard earned cash
you-will-be-saved
pray everynight and youll live another day
it's time for something new
it's-time-for-change
someone should take a stand use your ****ing brain
those storys are so lame

you will believe-or you wont recieve
his blessing, so he wont love you like the rest
memorie each verse-and never curse
or you will never be one of his best

follow all seven-or you cant go to heaven
so many rules it starts to seem unlikely
pratice each day-he will pave the way
once you get there angels and perfection is what you see

bow your head-be glad for what they said
i hope it makes you feel good inside
now bow your head and be glad for just what they have said
i hope it makes you feel more then good inside

go ahead and let god into your heart
but into your wallet seems completely absurd
using bribery seems liek a quick, expensive start
the tax reduction wasnt enough for the greedy bastards

The church is fueled by corprate greed
In weak minds they plant their seed
With every story, every lie
The fairytale comes more alive

i stopped reading this after about two lines. it sucks, find a new subject. grow up a little. you obviously have no idea what to talk about except what you think will make people read it. your pal you wrote it with is probably wearing all black and eye liner, while you're sporting the anarchy temporary tattoos and spiked dog collars.

music is better than that, try to treat it that way.

Wow, it took two people to write this

All kidding aside (sure...) here is a story: When I first came on S+L, read my first religious song, I thought "ok, this hasn't been done *that* much before", second, third, fourth etc. "Well, at least they are presenting an original view..."... but now, it's getting really old. Now, writing about how crappy Jesus is, is like writing about wanting to kill yourself, loving/hating a girl... its been done like yesterday's dinner.

Topic aside, this just isn't a very good song. Weak rhymes, boring storyline, directness that comes of as being immature songwriting (not immature as in "your a faggot", but immature as in not yet ready) etc. etc.

Good start though, it strikes me as being one of your first songs, but meh, I get bored easily.

Overall 4/10

If you're gonna write about religion, at least write it from an original point of view.
It is way too direct. I'm a firm believer that subtlety is a very good way to get your point across. Directness is a way to lose your audience, intrigue them as to what your true meaning is, and then maybe later on in a song give them a few hints as to what it is, unless it's a completely original idea, then it's a different story.

Take a look at Void of Fear.

This is one of mine that got good reviews and was anti-religion, glance over it and note the differences. I think everyone can become a good writer, it just takes some work.

Void of Fear was about religion...
but you all haven't checked that out...have you? Go DO IT.

"void of fear" is in no way immaturely written. it flies circles around this piece. a+ to burningwater.

I'm going to hop on the bandwagon with this one. It looks like you went to church once, said this sucks, and then decided to say, "I F'ing Hate Xians! (Oh Em Gee Look at m3 I can insult Xians by putting X instead of Christ! El Oh El!!!11@one)"

Seriously, the rhymes aren't even flavorful. Seven and Heaven? Thats almost as childish as Seven Eleven. I think this can be done much better from the same point of view. Rework your brain and hardwire your understanding of Christianity to a New Testament commentary if you want to do it right.

20/100 (You only get 20 for changing the amount of lines in each stanza here and there.)

Ya know, that kind of comment is on the same level as a black dude saying that because his ancestor's were enslaved that the government owes him money, and believe me, it ain't too high.

If you're gonna hate on Christians, at least be intelligent about it.

IMO this song should not be able to be posted on this forum.
Its basically just cutting down someones beliefs.
Its like saying that colored people are the devil
or that homosexuals should not be able to walk the earth
or that women do not have the right to vote
or that buddhist are dumb from praising a fat guy to sit on his bum and think
its just not right.
I really do not believe that someone like you should have the right to speak
PS non of the above are my opinion

Yeah, it would be cool if we could take away the idiot's right to free speech, but sadly it has to be equal, so even the morons are allowed to say what they want.

you might want to clerify which morons you are referring to because some people(formchaos) might not think were talking about them

Exercising freedom of speech is a fundamental right in the US, get over it. I wrote an anti-religious song too, should it be banned because it criticizes someone's beliefs? Of course not. A lot of songs can cut down someones belief, if it offends you, don't read it. Now stop spamming up this poor kid's thread, he has a right to write what he wants, as do you, I could easily tear the majority of the songs on these forums to pieces, but I don't. I give constructive criticism because that is what these forums are for, now you both can stop or be banned, this is against the forum rules.
[+] there has been a thread on this before, but do not insult other members. constructive criticism is fine, and most often the best reply to a work one can get. but "that is the worst excuse for a song. crap" is not constructive criticism. one offense gets you a warning, repeated offenders may be banned. another thing, keep the posts generally clean. offensive language, in an offensive manner, will get the same treatment as insults. i understand some people's need to use strong language in their work to convey a tone or something of that nature. this is absolutely fine. just dont be blatantly posting offensive stuff for the sake of it.
I suggest you read these again.

look im just saying im not even christian, but i do not go around telling everyone that its wrong.
freedom of speech is great but you can not abuse it like this.
also it was constructive...i am telling him to be smarter in his writing, and to not cut someones lifestyle down
im also telling him that he should stop, that would help his writing career (which seems to be arrogant and naive)
lastly on the not of freedom of speech my calling him a moron is also called freedom of speech
so here goes:
he is a moron

Honest opinion on lyrics: Yawn

No real imagery, no real anything. The whole thing was very generic, and stuff. I like the word stuff, in a non-sexual manner at least. Sexual manner reminds me of P0RN. And P0RN is lame, really. *shifty eyes at zeppi* Like, all the dudes... yea, its weird.

I would suggest doing something unique. :thumb:

So he can't use his freedom of speech to it's full extent, but you can? The phrase "hypocrisy in the highest order" springs to mind.

I'm tempted to give you a three day holiday, but I won't, not yet, anyway. Just post constructively from now on.
