This isn't easy and
I've been looking so long
It's hard to believe me
So I'll try to seem strong

I'm not really sure
What I deem is the truth
I don't want to be definite
I don't want to seem uncouth
I've been searching but I've seen
Life's not the same as the first one
Time again for a different dream
Looking at what I've become

This isn't easy and
I've been looking so long
It's hard to believe me
So I'll try to seem strong

I wear Jesus as a pendulum
Around my neck, and it swings
Back and forth, it drags my heart
Various pulses are what it brings
Then I see the tricolour
Lying crumpled at my feet
Smothered by a star-spangled banner
I can barely see what lies beneath

This isn't easy and
I've been looking so long
It's hard to believe me
So I'll try to seem strong

There are no places anymore
For smaller groups known as minorties
There's nowhere to go to plead my case
No reality courts in these societies
I'd always wanted to change before
But I saw the need to refrain
Before all this will see an end
I know that nothing will be the same

This isnt' easy and
I've been looking so long
It's hard to believe me
So I'll try to seem strong

Too lazy to written an indepth critique write now, I'll just say that the song wasn't appealing the first time through, even less appealing the second time, and based on a trend I saw emerging, I didn't risk a third round.

Rhyming was bland, story line self-possessed, and it just didn't draw me in

Better luck next time.
