Yeah i tend to do hammer ons instead, tapping seems like a cooler way to do it but unnecissarily harder maybe.

I could make a point about Irony, and even mention that it was making a satirical statement about the nobility and the somewhat less noble activities that their wealth and power allows and has allowed them to do in the past and present, but I won't. I just happened to be listening to a really good song when I was joining MX and thought it'd make a kinda punchy username.

On a related note, I always had that impression, you know because it's rare to see people who use capital letters for their first user name. Probably because most of us are used to just using undersocres and lower case on the rest of the internet names or something like that.

Honestly guys, don't get too excited by the "Metal Mania" that MP and JP are hosting. It's mainly 80's metal, either hair or Manowar or something.
I'm totally excited for the condensed version of SCORE though. It's freakin' DREAM THEATER on TELEVISION.

VH1 Classic will be airing a one-hour, abbreviated version of the "Score" DVD several times beginning tonight (Friday, August 25) at 9:00 p.m. Each airing is preceeded with a one-hour episode of "Metal Mania" co-hosted by Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci.

Myung and Levin are equal imo, it's just Myung never gets any fun parts to play.
He always follows Petrucci, I'd love to see some more creativity from him, but skill wise, he's on par with Levin.

Not even that though. He had a problem with LaBrie's "gay hair". The fact that he disliked the operatic style was secondary to the dislike of the gayness of his hair. You sort of have to read the whole article, it really sheds some light on that Hinds guy's attitude towards music. He basically sees it as a vehicle for expressing his drugged-up fantasies.

"Just a little update on what I've been up to lately. I know it's been some time since the last one! I've been enjoying some much needed time off since the end of DREAM THEATER's 'Octavarium' world tour this past April. It was quite a long tour as most of you know and we were fortunate enough not only to play in front of many familiar faces, but to brand new audiences around the world as well. Our forthcoming DVD from that tour, titled 'Score', will be out on August 29th and I'm really psyched about it! It was shot on the last date of the tour at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. I know a lot of you were there! Check out Mike Portnoy and myself hosting 'Metal Mania' along with a special abbreviated preview of 'Score' this weekend on VH1 Classic.
"This summer I've been basically hanging out with my wife and kids enjoying the hot weather activities, working out and playing some guitar. Everything I love to do! In just a couple of weeks now I'll be back in the studio with the boys working on the next DREAM THEATER musical adventure. This fall I will also take part in two G3 tours: One in South America and the other in Australia. My first time down under! Both should be a lot of fun as always. Ok i did buy both the dvd and cd and it was like maybe 40 bucks at the most together and it was totally worth it. because when i bought Live at budokan i was mad that Itunes is like nazis against having all dream theater songs for sale and i couldnt buy them seprately from the live at budokan album.

I have watched the concert twice so far and have watched the documentary once so far. Myung talks alot in the documentary. Not as much as the others, but much than normal.

Just saying that, though. Cause I'm over on the mp.com forum, and that's where most news about DT/MP comes out first.
For the record, I believe MP was informed of how tight the show would be with their curfew sometime during Octavarium I think. That's why they quickly rush on and off for their thank you's/encore. MP said he had it perfectly timed out that they would make the curfew, but there were a few small delays at the start of the show and during the interval I believe.

i just ran through it. absolutely fantastic. i felt the ending of octavarium was a little too rushed and thus slightly ruined that climactic feeling...but under those time restraints it was totally understandable. and it still gave me chills nevertheless.
the spirit carries on is absolutely fantastic :]
i think i saw the sign...but it was too far away to read anything. genuine, was it a HUGE white poster? i saw a big one and a smaller one to the very right

Mike said about that $30,000 fine though that the promoter and RCHM manager or something like that paid it for them since they apparently enjoyed the show. he also said they were charged $200,000 just to play there, while most venues charge ~$10,000. Something like that anyway, he posted in a thread on his forums explaining it all a few weeks ago.

I find I alt. pick everything unconsciously these days, I have to actually consciously play to downpick...
I assume it's alt. picking (I know alt. picking gives you fat forearms, unfortunately I don't have them yet though :(), I guess it's related to biceps, cause well, I don't move my arm at all when playing guitar, it's ALL in the wrist (I'm starting to strum with my arm actually).

So i was gonna wait the 4 days till now till the dvd comes out in england...but last night i happened to come across a torrent for all 3 disks of the cd...and i just couldn't help myself:(
The next thing i know i find myself listening to six degrees of inner turbulence with the orchestra...and i must say it is amazing:D
The only problem is that they have put SDOIT as just one file instead of the seperate parts...does it actually come like that on the proper cd?

Last week one friend told me that Dream Theater was going to play in El Salvador, I was so happy because I can go there, it is like 4 hours from my country. But it was just a rummor :upset: The real band to perform is Stratovarius, I think I'm going to see them.
