View Full Version : Crackling during recording

I'm using a Shure SM58-LC to mic my Marshall 1936 cab. The mic is hooked to a Behringer UB1204FX mixer and then straight to my M-Audio Delta 44. W hen I playback my recordings, I'm always getting a crackling sound, sort of like the crackle on a vinyl. But, when I convert that to wav/ogg/mp3, the crackling is almost gone, but not quite. What could be causing this? Could it be the XLR cable I'm using for my mic? I did get it at radio shack, so it's not the best cable in the world. Any suggestions? Thanks.

And yes, I made sure the 'vinylizer' effect on my mixer was off haha. [I'm serious]

try turning the gain or trim down. Im guessin your signal is too loud and is overloading your mixer's preamp.
