X-Box Live is still much better. No lag at all. I just played for about five hours, I led in stats the whole time. Had about a 50% hit percentage each time, that's good stuff. :p
my hit percentage is always like 70% because i melee so much.

Ok I'm pretty sure I know you problem, I had the same thing when I first got XBC. What you need is an RJ-45 crossover ethernet cable. You can pick oe up at radioshack or bestbuy for like 10 bucks. I'm pretty sure that's your problem.

i'm using what i beleive is an rj-45. i am using the cable i use when i have to use a dial up connection.

i got halo 2 last nite. the graphics and plot are amazing. the game it self is fun, but the build of the game is so impressive and unbeleivble. the guns sound awesome, so realistic. i also like how the covenant talk when yo ukill them. why is david cross on the game? i always think he is being sarcastic but then i realize he's not. all in all i love it.

I'm on level 12 in the campaign mode, but I have a feeling I won't finish it or play GTA: SA again anytime soon. Halo 2 online = domination.

Edit: Bwahaha, I just played a TS match 2 v 3. We beat the three of them 50-5 on Lockout. That's the best map ever.

i just got passed that mission where you play as the bad dude but i didnt really enjoy it as i hate using the covenant weapons, they suck extremely bad, i mean how the hell are u supposed to kill those little tiny flood things with a needle gun? i made it through though so im glad its over, the mission after that seems pretty cool so far..

Just returned from my first multiplayer game (4 players) and it was awesome. :cool:

The first game on the blood gulch style level (can't remember it's proper name) was very fun, turned into a game of "who can kill the covanent elite (me) first". :angry:
Second game was on Zanzibar, we were only using swords and grenades and it was awesome, full of sneakyness on my behalf. :evil:

Overall verdict: 9.5/10

Theve done what other games guys have done.....make a huge game...split in two...release at different times....

I remember a friend of my bringing a dvd of Halo2 from Xbobx mag....any way...it was throught the eyes of M.C...he goes to all these marines(a **** load) who have made a medi station for wounded...he walks around..then in the distance between the buildings theres this HUGE cannon...then some Pelicans fly by and blast the **** out of it....anyway..MC and some marines attack some covenant(using Stun grenades) then find some warthogs...they all jump on and drive into a s-hit load of Covenant....theres a big battle that last for fifteen minutes...then MC gets on a ghost drives down a freeway(or motorway for brits)...then it cuts to a cutscene where MC has to jump off the ghost cause of a Banshee....he gets up and these drop-pods land down...then a load of elites come out with energy swords....

that was it....and it doesnt appear in Halo 2 .....it to big a scene for them to have cut out so it might be in Halo 3....

if it is coming out i hope it comes out in less than 6 months...im not waiting for a nother 2 years...

I got this game at around 11 this morning.
I have been playing on it for a while, I just beat the first level as a Covanent, the third level I think.

The game starts with chief accepting a medal for destroying the previous halo, but he soon finds out the Covenant want to destroy Earth for destroying Halo (I think) he goes to Earth and defends it, then you play as the elite accused of heresy because he "chose" to let Halo be destroyed. They ban him from society and he eventually joins with the humans. Bla bla bla a bunch of crap. Eventually you find out that theres many other Halos. These were used as a last resort against a massive enemy, and the Halos are ancient. The bad thing is that the people who made them are long dead, because they used the Halos and wiped out everything because that's what they were made for. The covenant wants to use the Halo to destroy humans but theyre bent on destruction that they cant see the sword is double edged. Bla bla bla Master Chief goes onto a covenant ship to destroy the rest of the prophets, some cheesy one liner and the game ends.

As you know, the elites and MC join forces at the end of the game. If you watch that demo again, before MC pulls out the granade, an elite walks towards him. What I think is that the events at E3 (this demo) takes place after H2, and the elites and humans have joined forces to take down the covernant.

I also was disappointed in the ending. The whole time I was trying to whoop what's his name, I was saying this better not be the end...and it was. I still have heroic and legendary to go, so at least I still have a few weeks until the H3 craving sets in, or I'll just go back to H1.

i am really annoyed that i am saying that because i wanted to fall in love with this game like i did with the first halo. sure duel weilding is cool and the story goes on but overall there isnt enough different this go around to really make me love this game. X-box live play rules but really is this game the messiah that people make it out to be? no it is not

And i dont enjoy playing as a covenant with those **** alien weapons that im lumbered with. Frankly i enjoyed halo1 alot more. But im not at the end yet so it could change but i somehow doubt it can get any better in 4 levels. Plus wtf is up with the cutscenes, your watching it and then suddenly the textures load up and it just looks pretty wierd and as if no effort was really made. This game has been so overhyped its unbelievable.

The game was just hyped, it couldn't achieve that level of greatness that the hype was. I'm not saying I hate the game when I say I am a little disappointed, I mean, no game could live up to that amount of a hype. So I haven't played it a ton (I guess also because of time constraints), but come on, it's still probably one of the best games you've ever played.

And besides, Halo was a great game, this one's a great game. Why would you want something so radically different from what it was? If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Jesus ****ing ****, they gave plenty of additions and such and not to mention optimizing the graphics, it's definitely worth the money. Even if you're sort of disappointed, you can't deny it's still one of the most enjoyable games out there. :chug: :cool:

I just beat it, and I'd have to say the ending REALLY made me mad. Its so vague and sets everything up for another game that it is actually annoying. While the rest of the game was great, the ending still makes me want to choke the producers. :angry:

Basically, you blow up the ship you came in on, escape in a fighter just before Halo blows up, killing all the covenent, flood and remaining marines on the ring.

Legendary is impossible. Its even impossible on Co-Op, since there is no respawning, it just bumps both players back to the last checkpoint if one of them dies. So gay. Its weird, because me and my friend couldn't even beat the first level on Legendary Co-Op, but then we breezed through the whole game easiliy on Heroic. And we own at that game to. We could probably beat a solid amount of the game on legendary Co-Op now, but I can't see how anyone could possibly beat the whole game by themselves on Legendary, since you die after like 4 shots from a plasma rifle.

I just beat it couple a hours ago with my friend. Took maybe 10 hours total. We tried legendary, IMPOSSIBLE!. I finished normal, I want to do legendary solo, but I don't own it yet, it was my friends copy.

Beat it this morning on heroic and too bad it was as short as it was, I thought. The first one seemed to have more content. The story was good, I'll give it that, but there still was a lot of things they could of put in, due to time constraints(again). I really wanted to play the New Mombasa version they showed in the E3 demo they played. Even with the 15 levels it seemed that something was missing.

Snipers are useless if you completley suck...the maps are much better the swords are extremley cheap with the one hit kills.

The dual weapon is an awesome new feature. And even if it takes a long time and it doesn't come out till X-box 2 just think of Halo on an even more awesome system. This game is converting me to X-box I might just disregard PS3 and get the next Microsoft system. I dont play many video games anymore I just play for the multiplayer with friends and Halo has it all Co-Op and an awesome versus mode.

Coagulation doesn't have one (thats blood gulch)...and All i can remember is on Zanzibar its in a little hole on the thing that spins around...mad hard to get to.
That and on Ivory tower it is under the waterfall.

Right guys i have to say something about halo 2.

Firstly it was way too short. Legendary only took me 5 hours. Gta 3 weeks later 35.2% completed.

Secondly did someone steal a load of levels because the demo level shown at E3 wasnt in the game and it looked sweet.

Thirdly what the hell is with being an eilte. That really sucked. Only good for mulitplayer.

And Fourthly was halo 2 not meant to be set around earth. :confused:

We dont know what they are for yet but when you pick this skull up it activates 'blind' mode and ur crosshair and gun and display disapear and you can run around killing the enemy with the skull as a melee weapon, there is a theory that if you finnish the game using this skull you unlock somthing...

If you look on the XBOX website there are details on how to set up live. Basicly, you have 3 methods. Connect the XBOX straight to your modem. Second method is to have a router. This way, your XBOX and PC can connect to the internet at the same time. Third method, and really only used if you have a USB modem rather then ethernet, is to connect to live via your PC using ICS. I recommend a router connection, you can pick up some cheap ones that will do the job. Just make sure it is XBOX compatible.

The campaign was redicously (sp?) lame. It was a fun twist playing as the arbiter (elite). Except at one point i got confused, i thought i was the elite but i was the master cheif. Yup man it aint that hard when you get used to it online. The people there are a wee bit harder than the bots in the game. :)
Was hard at parts i just always kept in things like ghosts and wharthogs and stuff.

it definetally didnt deserve a 10/10...that is a PERFECT GAME, halo 2 is far from perfect, if it had the physics engine of half life 2 and a story w/out the shtty ending, and if the graphics were far superior to every other game on the market today, then halo 2 would deserve a 10/10

you have to get an ethernet cable. then you plug it into your cable box, if there is an empty space. If there isn't then you need to go out and buy a whats it called...a router

What's the difference between a router and a hub/switch?

a switch sends the individual packets of data to the machine it needs to go to, where as a hub sends data to EVERY machine, whether or not it needs it. a switch will make a network faster, especially one with many machines connected to it

Also, does getting a router mean anything else for a computer, or does it simply give you a way to divide the connection among the computer and console?

no it's not an added charge, it's still the same connection. A router is a divider for your internet connection. So if you use a router it's probably best that you don't have any internet programs running or you might suffer some serious lag issues.

you can unlock it by triggering something on the final mission i think. I dont understand, ill just get it off live i think. The bungie guys put the map on live as they thought the majority of gamers will find it hard to unlock foundation.
