Idk, all I have to say is it's really the features of Halo 3 that set it off for me. Theater mode, Forge, File Share, Bungie's new render-to-video feature they're implementing, their personalized stats page on their websites... It's all fantastic stuff imho.

Oh, and THE QUICK MUTE FUNCTION in the game lobby is awesome!

Half-Life 2
Bioshock

i really enjoy both of those games as well. the campaigns are spectacular. in fact, Half Life 2 is my all time favorite game. and funny you should mention Bioshock, i'm actually going through my 4th playthrough right now. GREAT freakin game. btw, if you own a 360 and don't own Bioshock, you have no taste in gaming whatsoever. ANYWAY, like i said, i enjoy all types of FPS, i even like COD4(campaign was amazing, tho a tad short).

BUT, Halo is the one game that i ALWAYS find myself going back to. the online multiplayer is just so fun, and i find that it has the most replayability out of any game i've ever played.

HL2 does. And pretty much every FPS made by Valve is miles better than any Halo game.

i wouldn't go that far. i was very unimpressed with Left 4 Dead. it just didn't feel like a full game to me. it felt more like an expansion pack of some kind. the gameplay was WAY too redundant and didn't offer any kind of variety at all. but Half Life on the other hand...like i already said, HL2 is my favorite game ever. and to be honest, i think the Half Life series is better than the Halo trilogy. so we're not all fanboys, ya know.

i totally agree. the Theatre mode is one of the best features to ever be put into a game, i think. as far as i know, Bungie is the first developer to implement this, and i think it should be a requirement for just about every game from now on.

and i can't freakin wait for Bioshock 2. have you watched the latest gameplay video they've released? i posted it in the Bioshock 2 gameplay thread. the vid is like ten minutes long. definately check it out if you haven't already.

Yeah, Action Sack is great, because, overall, it's the playlist where you will most often be paired up with fun people. Mainly because people in that playlist don't care about stats, and don't really care about winning or losing.

the game types kick *** too. I loved the one where you're like 1000 miles above the other people and you just try to pick them off while they run around to the checkpoints.

Just finished a game of king of the hill swords only. I ****ing protected my house. went 11-0 and had like 90% of the total time on the hill.

you mean the mythic maps? damn dude, you shoulda just waited another 2 months and gotten them with the purchase of ODST. if you were planning on getting it, that is. since ODST comes with all of the maps for Halo 3 multiplayer...

Well, it certainly isn't just an expansion, and this really is a pretty different game. A friend and I have been playing it through on legendary, and it really was a different play-style than Halo 3.


100% worth the $60.

Yeah, it's good fun. Quite like the story, since it's not just a super powered soldier steamrolling through an alien fleet. I didn't get too far into it, but I actually got a bit of an adrenaline rush when I had to fight two Hunters without the Master Chief's abilities.

I played the survival mode last night and it's good fun. I don't think i'd buy it but I have no problem with playing it with someone who did.
