it depends. if you see the score as some arbitrary number that means absolutely nothing then I really disagree. I know when I got that killing frenzy achievement while at lvl 38, I actually got extremely giddy and couldn't control myself for a few seconds. I'm sure it wouldn't have been the same had I "cheated" to get it, mind you, but it's the simple fact that achievements really are what you make of it

yeah you are right. but really when i see someone with a huge gamerscore my first impression is "wow this kid plays too many video games" and thats what it boils down to. unless you have a specific goal like unlocking something or doing the achievement because you want to feel like you accomplished something, the gamerscore is really just to show off how much you play video games (which is not necessarily a good thing)

No it has to be set to individual or whatever. You can get it in co-op, so long as each person has their own score. And anyone who gets over the required score will get the achievement.

I played a few levels doing it in coop, it's possible for two people to play and each get the necessary score but it's probably harder/impossible with more then that unless you use a ton of skulls to jack the multiple up.

I did a search online that said you needed to be an elite character when you get an overkill in ranked. I wasted 3 hours trying to get another one, finally did, yet still have those shoulder peices locked.

Keep trying and eventually you'll realize that getting all of the armor is lame. That is what happened to me, anyways. I spent so much time trying to get the achievements, and not really focusing on the game, so I kept losing and kept getting pissed. Eventually I just stopped caring.

I have one online achievement left, but figured getting the Katana was kind of retarded because everyone has it already, thus making it not nearly as cool. I'm actually having some fun playing it, now.

umm... not so much. I actually got the achievements in about 4 hours. I would do nothing but go for an achievement and if i was unsuccessful, i would make sure I'd get last place to rank down. I did this and got down to lvl 20 before I got the last ones.

It was kinda insane! I got triple kill, overkill, killtacular, shotgun spree, mongoose mowdown, VIP, and killing frenzy LITERALLY all in the same life. I must say, that is one of the better videos I had the pleasure of making:D

The energy sword was the first one I got. Pretty easy to get when you play KotH on The Pit. The sticky grenades took me awhile, but I ended up getting the 5th stick with like 7 seconds left in the match.

for the sticky grenade achievement, just wait until they give you that small level with the trenches (banshee, 2 bases, and the rocket launchers downstairs)

in the 2 basements, they spawn those spike grenades right by the windows over looking the rocket launcher. Sticking people really isn't that hard. I'd say if you can keep your supply fairly constant, it should be a breeze. The match I tried to get the achievement in, I wound up getting 9 sticks from this method

I have every map cleared out except The Pit. Turns out that scenery is on the other side of the fence. I got a few of the things, but the others are way too far out to get, at least I think.

I think you get extra money for completely clearing out the maps, or something.

It's not BAD but underwhelming. I was expecting a complex base setting and it's basically an oval racetrack with a long hallway running through it. It's absolutely amazing for multi-flag though.

You had to pay for the Halo 2 maps when they first came out, as well. Since you don't need them, because the only place you play them right now is a special playlist just for those maps, I wouldn't say it's bullsh!t.

Cortana isn't bad, you just have to keep moving. I got to the bit where you save Cortana and only needed a sword and shotty. It's when you let the flood respawn and gang up on you that it gets hard.

The only thing I hated about it was the Gravemind. It's cool when Cortana does it, because at least I cared about her a bit (Enough to save her anyway), but the Gravemind is just annoying. And he comes up like every second.

I think Cortana is a really well designed level though. Your mission is to rescue her, so obviously the idea is to move as fast as you can. You aren't supposed to kill everyone, because you can't. Just get in, get Cortana, then get out.

honestly i didnt mean that negatively i'm just saying that cycle is a huge part of halo multiplayer especially on the corridor maps

halo on the pc had a brilliant multiplayer that rewarded active and tactical play, partially because of the way the spawn system worked and partially cause of the arsenal

i dunno if the others have quite achieved that because in a deathmatch type scenario i couldnt envisage anyone using any other weapons other than the shotgun and sniper rifle in the later iterations of the franchise

a thumbstick makes your range of movement much more compressed, ie it makes the sensitivity higher

so if you move the stick 1mm you might get 100px of on screen movement, whereas with a mouse 1mm results in 10px screen movement (or whatever arbitrary figures you like)

the point is, you have a minimum distance over which your muscle movements will be accurate, so lower sensitivity over a larger area (a mouse) is more accurate because you can use smaller and more precise movements that relate more directly to the on-screen movement

and making minute corrections with mouse is easier because its instant feedback, ie as soon as you start moving it in the opposite direction your screen will move too, but with a thumbstick you first have to return to center and lose your idea of how much movement is required

and a whole lot of things this argument is stupid thumbsticks are terrible
