My Fellow Rockers...today is our independence day! what?...um..no....O.o..o.O.....O.O' WRONG! ok got an idea floating around in this head of mine. some people have probably most definitely already had it...but....can we get somekind of somethin goin on in the brookings area? the musical diversity here is basically ****...you're either country or hip hop. it's going to drive me insane if I don't find some shows to go to or people to jam with. sooo I guess what I'm trying to ask is this: IS ANYONE OUT THERE?! post replies here or send to shadeddakotabassist@hotmail.com

i am 17, i take it you are a college student. but yea, the scene in brookings for music is very terrible, there have been some metal shows put on lately but they all suck.

yeah I am a collage student I guess. and you could say the scene is pretty dead here. but I havent really expected much out of it. I mean it is the middle of nowhere. I am just tryin to get out of here as fast as I can dude.

In case I forgot to mention this as well, I'm only 15. been playing bass and doin vocals for the better part of a year. Stuey, do you play anything? If so, maybe you and Fhaze and I could start something. try and show brookings how it's supposed to be done.

Didn't realize there would be an actual thread for people from South Dakota. Haha, well I play guitar and bass. Been playing guitar for about 2 years and bass for around a year. I live in Madison, SD, which is about a 45 minute to an hour drive to Brookings. I'd make the drive if something solid got going.

**** i wish i still lived in SD im lived in Rapid City for 13 years, now im in MA (never move here) wish i could help ya outi know there is or was a local band in the are called out of omega they werent bad, but about it for me i can think of anything else. but oh yeah hit me on aim at mystdruidrune, or jodah67@msn.com if ya want, and ill try and find some more local bands, oh yeah and i play bass! go bass! go SD! seeya

Yep, too bad for South Dakota. I can't wait to move out of here -- music's just dead here (in a sense). There are a lot of people who play instruments and stuff and go in and out of bands and so on, but I know I'd be having more fun with music if I lived somewhere a bit more interesting.

Spamming doesn't help. South Dakota isn't exactly the most musically inclined state on the map either, let alone too popular on these forums. That being said, I'm from southeast SD.

I'm more of a bass player these days as well, but I'm looking to move out of SD in a few months.
