oh man this game is so good! anyone here own it yet? ive heard a few people diss it for some reason or another but i dont see how it can be dissed. this game really is that good. climbing on a hill or house and looking down on the moving city is pretty special. i cant wait to climb mount. chiliad. its gonna take a while to get there though. I thought i had found a way to get round the roadblocks that stop you getting to the certain areas of san andreas that your not supposed to reach yet, by swimming across the sea, but when i reached the shore, i immediatly had 4 wanted stars and got tourn a new a-hole by the police chopper. ouch. this game is **** cool.

yeah, im playing it right now, i just left cj sitting on top of a small skyscraper to watch the world as i read this board. the game really is somthing special, ive only been playing a couple of hours but im hooked. the world really seems massive and alive.

My friend got it, and I must say that the dialogue is the funniest thing in a video game in a very long time. I wish I had some black friends to help me translate some of the stuff in it. But overall it's a great game.

But I win because I preordered Halo 2 today. :)

It's really good, I love how the screen blurs when you're going really fast and how cops will actually chase after people that are shooting at you.

GTA:SA is awesome from what little I've played of it - I like the addition of police bikes, for a start. The ability to climb is ace, and the city is much more dangerous. In GTA:VC the pedestrians wouldn't pull guns on you if you mugged them!

I like the way they've given you 'turf', it makes it feel a bit more realistic.

Fable is actually how I got GTA. I traded it in and only had to pay like 20 bucks. Fable was good, but I beat it pretty fast, and it was pretty easy.

but i couldnt trade it in, i traded in SRS, Spiderman 2, and full spectrum warrior and payed a 1.35 for gta:sa :)

I agree. I didn't think it looked that great before it came out, I was just thinking I'd rent it and maybe it'd be good. But it turns out it's great. It impressed me.

and i dont understand how it will work this time, i havent seen the official documents but this makes sence, it took them a LONG time to put gta3 and vice city on xbox, and alot of money...IF they stick the pattern it will be almost 4 years b4 we see it on xbox and ps2 will already have another gta

the funny thing about these gta games is that i hardly ever do any missions, i can play the game for hours on end without actually doing the missions, ill just explore and **** **** up. ive been playing SA for a couple hours now and i havent done one mission.pretty cool. ive had vice city and gta3 since the days they were released and only ever did a few missions from both.

and you gain actual stats for doing things and they affect the course of the game

No offense, but that was the geekiest thing I've ever heard. Why do you feel the need to pre-order a game two years in advance. I don't know why everyone blows their load over Halo, I personally find nothing special about it. I find it rather dull.

Pretty fun actually, definately the best one up to date.

But the Dodo does not meet my seal of approval. It doesn'T fly like a plane :(

That's why I just ordered HALO2 today. If you goto the right places (i.e.-Toys R Us, Target), they're still easily available. But don't expect anything at a videogame store.

I've had it for a few days, I really haven't posted much at all since :o
I'm one mission away from making my way to San Fierro. I jumped the wall into Los Santos International Airport, hijacked a plane and flew it to Los Venturas (I think that's the name of the third city). Of course, the four star wanted rating came up. I thought I was all right because I couldn't remember any air defense in previous GTA's. But a fighter jet came up on me and shot my plane down! Craziness.
The only complaints I've heard are graphics, with low framerates and choppiness. I really haven't had any problems with this, as I've never even noticed.
The most useless addition I've seen is girlfriends... uh, they don't seem to do anything but consume your time. (I guess that's not too far off from real life either!) Unless of course I'm missing something...

Anyways...I've played Halo a few times. I have no idea what the hype's about. It's hardly any different from any other shooter ever made, honestly. Don't try to defend it because if you think differently, you're wrong.

And if you think Xbox dominates on originality and gameplay, well...yeah.

Xbox isn't getting Alien Hominid. You lose.

It's got plenty of power, but I've put more time into FFT Advanced than I have on all of my Xbox games combined. Doesn't that say something?

I got to San Fierro after I completed about 40 missions. I'm there with the hippy dude and the mission right beofre that where you have to burn a weed feild is great because your vision gets blurry and it's harder to move.

The map really is massive, travelling is sometimes the biggest hassle of a mission. Especially if you fail. I'm working in San Fierro now, it's nicely designed. I love the feel of the city.

At the minute I'm in Las Venturas, I think I'm doing pretty well so far ;) I only got the game on Friday. It is really an excellent effort from Rockstar, the sheer magnitude and freedom is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It dwarfs Vice City and Liberty City by comparison. The countryside is a joy to drive through on a dirtbike or jeep. And I agree with JmE that driving through San Fierro is like a non-stop orgasm - just awesome.

Zakath: You get the flight missions after cracking onto the third island. To my recount, it's the fourth mission you do in the desert. Also, it's the hardest thing I've done in the game, and it's mandatory before you can continue further with the story.

JmE: There's a mock-up of Area 51 in the desert near Las Venturas. I went in with my dual-uzis so I could take out people and have a look around. All I saw was a couple of tanks and some Anti-Aircraft guns. If you can jack a plane, try flying over it ;) it's called "Restricted Area" on the map.

People: Yeah, there's a mission to go to Liberty City. Only the Bistro (St. Paul's? I can't remember the name) though, and you can't stay to look around :(.

go to a place on the hills where there are rocks, then stand there between 6:00 and 8:00. once you see him he will run if you chase him he would just stop and sometimes swing at you.

Zero's missions in San Fierro are laaaame. Rockstar should really get rid of all the RC handheld vehicle bullshit. It took me hours to beat the last 2 missions. It REALLY annoyed me. Especially when you feel you were as time efficient as possible and a little RC plane runs out of fuel 10 feet before the landing spot.

I forgot to add (this for Dennis) another impressive addition to the longevity and full-immersiveness of the game is the skill levels. Now, rather than starting a new game whenever I can't be arsed doing that last ambulance mission I now have an investment in continuing all the way, otherwise I go back to crap stats.

I've sprayed only 9 tags so far. Did you also know that once you get the camera (from the start of the San Fierro section) there are a certain amount of spots around the map that you need to photograph? Gamespot said one of them was a bench in a park at nightfall... how the hell I'm going to find all these when they aren't signposted has me buggered.




Now if only my mother would **** off from the tv I could get back to the game.

Yea there's like 3-4 sports bikes and a couple harley/touring type bikes.

I just took a sports car with 10 shots of NOS out onto the highway that goes down the left side of the countryside in San Fierro..ended up flipping it into the ocean. :( There goes my gold 24" rims and ricer exhaust. :lol:

Edit: You must be talking about bicycle skills, that's easy to upgrade to the max. I use motorcycles to get around whenever I can and only have about 60-70%.

yea. go to sweets house alot and during one of the missions you get to take a truck and rob this dudes house. then you get something unlocked and you can rob houses. but you have to always have a truck to put the stuff you robed in.

Because my little brother, who looks like he's 7 although he is 10, went to pick up the game, the salesman found he needed to address my mother as to the "Sexual Violence" in the game. After looking it up at ESRB.com, there is no sexual violence, and she now has lost her whole argument for me not to get it instead of my little brother. This has not detered how, however, from deciding to rent it and then watch me play it to decide if it is suitable. My plan; Only play the first real mission, from there on out go take a taxi and do that mission, telling them that it is what you do throughout the game. If they are completley unreasonable, I'll probably just go get it sometime. It sounds way too good to not get just because they say it is not suitable. (Even though they were both there when my brother picked up Vice City at Wall-Mart.)
