Ok, post all the legendary video games that deserve that title and why. Or games that break the mold and bring a whole new thing to the table of video gaming.
ONE of my picks is XENOGEARS. One of the best RPG's ever made.

Doom I & II
Resident Evil on the original playstation HAD some pretty nefty graphics for when it came out and I've never played a game like that at the time. It also creeped me out bad because I was only like 10 while playing it

Best rpg in my opinion would be either Morrowind or IcewindDale 1 and 2
The Secret of Monkey Island
Half-Life and counter strike. Counter Strike changed online first persons and Half-Life is just amazing. I also can't wait for Half-Life 2.

Agreed. best Multiplayer ever considering the date it came out. An n64 game being just as fun as halo? ;\ i remember hearing my friends comparing both of them and most them still thinking Goldeneye is the best. And hey guess waht? i agree, Goldenye had the best controls(solitare mode) and was fun as heck regardless its graphics.

Nah Carmageddon was simple kill as many civilians as you can/race against the clock type deal. One of the most fun stress relieving games I ever played, till the GTAs for the PS2 came out.
The GTA games are deep, plus you can actually get out of the car and run around the world. Carmageddon you were stuck in the car, and demolition derby was more the premise.
Both fun games regardless!

Street Fighter II.
While it didn't create the fighting genre (Karate Champ and Yie Ar Kung Fu did that), it defined it and made it popular. Mortal Kombat would have never existed if Street Fighter II hadn't saved arcades in the early 90's.
Sonic the Hedgehog.
It was the only game in it's genre that could challenge Mario, what else is there to say?

How about River City Ransom people? I loved that beat em up, it was the first one I'd ever seen and one of my favorite ones to date.
Final Fantesy Tactics was a great game too, so much freaking customization to it, you could make your character amazing if you put some effort into it. I think the level system in that game went up to some rediculous number, like 200 or something.

I respect your view that Mortal kombat was a legendry game but im afriad i do not share your views. I found it weak and lacking against other fighting games such as Street fighter or even Eternal Champions (**** cool game, or atleast i thought so 10years ago lol!).

I didn't like any of the mortal kombat games from 2 onwards... 1 was ok though because it was differant.
