So what do you think of their football team? Overrated? Underrated?
Of course, I know what you will say. They only play crappy teams, which leads to their mile long winning streak.
But I've just heard that it's a possibility that BSU might play Utah in the Fiesta Bowl.
Discuss.

Aye, University of Arizona. Get it right!
Sheesh.
ASU and the U of A are in the Pac-10.
Both are in the Pac-12 however in Baseball.

I thought so. Maybe next year then.
Once they get out of WAC, I think they are going to try to get into the Mountain West Conference.

I love BSU. One of my favorite teams. I only started liking them last year, after I watched a couple evening ESPN games. Dinwiddie was a great QB, and I loved the way they played. I've watched every game so far this year, and Zabransky is possibly out-doing Dinwiddie. They're a great team who could definitely give some of the top schools a good game.
If they had more of a defense, they'd be a top team in the nation in my opinion.

Don't ever say anything about ASU to an U of A student.
Ever.

Best fake handoff/laterals/option plays in the country.
They are one of the few teams that can fake me out when I'm watching tv/at the game. They fake the camerman out quite a few times also.
It's too bad they aren't doing too well against the crappier teams such as Tulsa. At least they still won that game.

I've been going to BSU games since I was about 8, so the blue turf is slightly normal to me. :-/

Blue turf = definition of football
They are underrated, and that blue field rocks.

Good news: BSU goes undefeated for the season, winning their game today in double overtime.
Bad News: The game was against San Jose, who has a record of 2-7
I have a hard time understanding why BSU does horribly against teams that are supposed to be weaker.

What are they ranked?
Against Miik!
11-13-2004, 08:58 PM
They are overrated. They almost lost to Tulsa and today they almost lost to San Jose St. They would never compete against Auburn, Miami, Oklahoma etc.... And that's who they would play against in bowl games.
I think they are 13.

I'd love to see Boise St. and Utah go undefeated and everyone else have one loss so that all the idiots who run college football will see how flawed the BCS is and they'll institute a playoff system. And yes, their blue field is the best.
:amaze: when their players blend into the turf
Against Miik!

But they don't deserve to be ranked on top. They are not better than teams they are ranked above like BC, Miami, Texas A and M, any of those teams. Due to strength of schedule, I would consider them the weakest ranked team. Until they play the best, I won't consider them the best.

So if both of those teams went undefeated, you'd still like to see one of the major programs in the championship game?
--And all other teams have 1-2 losses

I think BSU could play with some of the top ranked teams. They've blown out the bad opponents worse than most teams have blown out the bad opponents. They're a great team.
It's easy to tell when a team is good. BSU is good.

Side note: The U of A hung in with USC for most of the game last night.

A few weeks ago it was rumored that BSU might play Utah in the Fiesta Bowl, so that would be their chance to prove how well they can compete against ranked teams.
