I started playing one of my old files: cloud 66, cid 56, yuffie 50 and i still had some trouble in the gelnika but i still got the double cut which i missed from the ship for some reason before, grinding in northern cave now to get all the limit breaks and master materia.

The Sunken Gelnika just be careful and save a lot and heal a lot. The stuff in there is priceless. You also may want to go back to the last place you played in the story if you were overleveled and do some grinding or if you think you are good enough to continue, go to the next part of the story.

What does Final Attack+Phoenix do?

Sweet! I got Final Attack and Phoenix both mastered. Clould is a freaking tank:

Lvl 92 equipped w/Ultima Weapon w/4x Cut, Counter Attack, Final Attack+Phoenix, Added Effect+Hades, Restore+All, Barrier+All, HP Plus.

He's doin 9999 damage with each hit.

My question is why Final Attack+Phoenix is considered such a great combo. I can't remember ever being in such a desperate situation that I needed it.

Added Effect+Contain is my personal preference over Hades, but whatever floats your boat.

Barrier is useless once you have Big Guard on your Enemy Skill. So is Restore to be honest once you've got White Wind.

And if you really want to dick on everything, fill your spare slots with counter attacks.

last time i fought sephiroth cloud countered in the last battle so there was no dramatic forced omnislash and the guy i was helping through the game was like '.'

Added Effect + Contain turns enemies to stone. Pretty much instant death. But by the time you're doing 9999 a hit with 4x cut, I'm not sure anything that is susceptible to stone status, or anything hades can throw at them (bar Ruby Weapon) without dying first.

You get Contain in Mideel by the way iirc.

VIII is still my favorite. The first 3 discs are just like "yeah this is kind of a typical final fantasy storyline i guess" and then you get mind****ed in disc 4.

i just want them ported to the DS like Chrono Trigger was, because the Chrono Trigger port rules and just like it they couldnt possibly improve V or VI in remakes

Viii sucks because it doesn't have enough MIDI music and I can't play it on a console weaker than the N64 :mad:

VIII sucks because of junctioning and irritating characters

a V or VI remake would only end with characters looking like androgynous fags and having each characters voice role played by somebody who will probably sound really forced and bad and an extra dungeon. However the GBA extra dungeons would be excluded so if you wanted to enjoy those you'd have to go paly the same game again on a different system
