killed off squall and zell and levelled up to level 60 with seifer until the average party level was 30 which drew the galbadian soldiers up to level 30 which gave them the agas then drew them all with seifer then beat x-atm092 about 20 times which gave 50AP at a time
it was an evening

are you serious
well it is good i mean it gets the three gfs you have up to level 100 if you junction one to each character (i dunno if you knew this but even if your character is dead, their GF gains the same exp and ap, and that exp/ap per character is divided up between all the GFs junctioned to that character)
it's just a little masochistic so do it with friends watching movies or something, takes about six or seven hours
the good thing is that levelling up stays constant regardless of your level, and seifer gets limit breaks like more than every other turn
change the disc speed if you're playing it on a ps2

the thing is, cause i reset everytime something went wrong, if i couldve watched like a video of that whole playthrough, it would be GLORIOUS. absolutely everything on it would be perfect. great runs across the world map scaled without incident... whole dungeons traversed and bosses levelled in seconds. i couldnt get every treasure in the game cause that would be physically impossible on the english version, but i came prettttttty close.
oh and i would actually practice buying and selling stuff in shops
like i mapped out the commands for the least necessary amount of button processes, wrote them down and practiced them till i could perform a complicated process of buying, selling and synthesising in seconds. it was a beautiful thing. i still have notepad files on my comp that have commands listed in rows of four like :
r1,r1, x, U,
x, D, x, U,
x, o, U, x...
etc, with filenames like 'moogle in fossil roo.txt' and 'cotton robe trick lindblum 2.txt'

I've done everything in FF IX other than that, and wouldn't even dream of attempting it. In FFX I've made some headeway towards being able to defeat Penance (not in the American version) - but have put that on hold for the time being with uni n that.
It's cool when games have something ridiculously hard like that - the trophy system (can't speak for the 360 awards system) for the PS3 is well used by some games. In Wipeout HD (f*cking awesome game) I finally got the gold beat zico trophy after sooooo many attempts. Hopefully FFXIII and Versus have some trophies in them, and some lengthy quests.
lol my brother is so proud of his wipeout trophies
unfortunately, not many games are supporting trophies yet, but time will take care of that.

TBH, I am doing a 'perfect' game in FFVII atm (not the 99 of every item kind of perfect game. That's even more absurd than what I'm doing), and it is hard work motivating myself. I'm in the crater, grinding AP away to get everyone a Master Command/Summon/Magic (Going to stop at two, and get the third from beating Emerald WEAPON) and a few other nice 'essential' materia. Not the cheesiest/best setups, just the 'most complete' setup as I see it. I think 6 of my characters are level 99 now. I haven't used Cait or Vincent for the entire game though, and they're still about level 90 at the moment.
Next step is to morph enough of the Gelnika's monsters to get every stat to max ¬_¬
However, if you need more than one master HP plus materia on any given character, you're doing something wrong o_O. 5?

You must have a lot of time on your hands to max out everything like that. Whenever I play a FF game such as FFVII I usually just level up as much as I want to and then try and have a challenging final fight. I remember the last time I beat it I was using Cid, Vincent, and Cloud and they were at about level 75 I believe. Sephiroth used Supernova on me and I had Cloud and Vincent both turned to frogs while Cid was at 1 hp and he had his limit break. I used Highwind and that was the final blow to Sephiroth. It was an exciting 30 minute fight. I don't like to level up like crazy to make the last fight really easy. I do understand if you want to beat all the WEAPONS though.

I've already had the epic fights with Sephiroth. I'm not gonna whip KotR out on him or something cheap though. I think I'm right in saying Safer Sephiroth also gains 50000 HP for every character you have on level 99, and also gains more if you one-shot Bizarro Sephiroth with KotR. Might go after him with Initial Equip for the luls. I do have like 9 Ribbons though, so that should fend off his status attacks.
Tried an initial equip, no materia, solo character run of FFVII a while back, but got stuck at Carry Armor :(
And I DON'T have the time to max everything out, haha. This file is like my ongoing project. I'm currently just trying to max Cloud out first, and he doesn't have a single stat maxed yet. With his current strength AND the Attack from Ultimate Weapon, he still doesn't quite hit 255 strength. Stats haven't been my focus yet though, AP grinding has.

Pretty much. Didn't feel like dusting off Disc 1 like I did when I first got it and just stayed in Wutai earning EXP. After I got around to continuing the story (my third best character was level 89 and I was sick of killing thunderbirds) almost every boss fight was one hit, red pixels, loot screen.

I'm past the moon part (though that doesn't mean I won't go back for some dungeon trawling/item farming. Need that rainbow pudding). I think I'm really near the end, though I'm not entirely sure. My party must be at least level 65/70, seeing as I think that is where you have to be to get Rosa to learn Holy? Haven't checked in a bit though. Funny thing is, some people have said you NEED to grind your way through this game, but I really found my levels have been more than adequate throughout, just from random encounters (which there are a lot of).

The story is probably the weakest element in FFXII. I'm up to the Great Crystal and not only have I lost track of the story through long breaks caused by the various types of sidequest, but I'm not even that bothered about it. It's pretty weak, simple, flat. In short it's 'meh'. Same thing with the characters. If this game had an engaging story and characters like, say, FFVII then it would probably be one of the best FF games and indeed one of the best games I've ever played because everything else in it is really great.

I agree that the story in FFXII is flat and not as strong as the other ones. The game play is about the only thing that was fun for me in that game. The main characters story line was very weak.

Uhh there is no American FF4. Final Fantasy V was never released originally outside Japan, so Final Fantasy VI was named Final Fantasy III in America.
There aint any point using the American numbers now anyway, with all of them having been re-released under their proper titles.

Yeah the game is pretty good, story a little sketchy but all-in-all pretty good. Not up to the standard of 7 and 10 though!

Ah. I love gambits. they saved my bacon a few times vs. Hell Wyrm, with Ashe automatically using Curaga on weak party members. That said there were 4 or 5 times that the damn thing wiped out Ashe and Basch and I had to substitute penelo so she could revive Ashe who would revive Basche, Curaga him, then Penelo would make way for Vaan who was my other tank.

To be honest, I'm starting to wonder why I've bothered to kick XII's *** that hard given that I've got the PS1 FF Origins and Anthology coming my way for Xmas and I don't want to be playing XII for ages before I get to tackle those 4 games. I think I've made a mistake in delving so deep into XII - I should have just gotten through the story on this, my first run through, and done all the side quests on my second run through. As it stands, Origins and Anthology are going to be sitting there unplayed for a couple more months while I finish both FFXII and Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King. And even then I should probablt start new games on FFIX, X and X-2 since I never finished the first two and never even started the last one. I've screwed up.

I don't get why, with the PS1 remakes, they didn't make three compilations with 2 games each - we who bought the remakes before the DS was released or who don't own a DS have been denied an FFIII remake for no good reason.

From what I remember of my play through of FFIV Advance I think I'm nearing the end of the story. After the stuff on the moon I don't think there's alot left to do in the main game.

That's basically where I am. But I can't work out where I'm supposed to be going - I haven't played it since late October, and I forgot everything that happened in it ¬_¬

Just found out Wakka & Kimahri (sp?) are voiced by the same guy as Bender.
Awesome.

That's pretty obvious.
Phil Lamar does a lot of stuff too.
Those guys keep themselves busy.

Ok, so basically I'm at the Black Omen. I have a bunch of side stuff to do though.
I want to get the Rainbow shell.
Where do I start?
talk to Toma in the tavern in that town you cant get to until you have the epoch in 600 and go from there
SPOILERS
Tidus was either a former resident of Zanarkand or simply never existed. He was one of the apparitions created by the surviving Zanarkand summoners who couldn't deal with the grief of having lost their city during the war.
I'm not exactly sure if this is correct but this is how I understood it in the part of the game right before you enter the ruins and the group talks about summoning forces.
SPOILERS
thats right
zanarkand actually existed once and then got n00ked and then the survivors were like "bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" and dreamed up a new one and tidus was one of those dreams

What the fuck did 7777 randomly? I know the lucky 7s trick but what is THAT?

Yep, lucky 7777. The description:
Probably the segment I spent the most time on. What happens is this: Materia Keeper has 8400 HP. Bio does 78 damage, and Tifa's attack does 21 damage. This leaves Materia Keeper with 8301 HP. Each poison deals 262 damage. He takes 2 from poison, dealing 524 damage, leaving him with 7777 HP. This is known as "lucky 7's" causing everything MK does to cause 7777 damage... including poison! So he dies instantly. I grab the Counter materia because one time, I got stuck on it, and I didn't want that to happen again. I spent probably 3 weeks on that segment.

I've done all that.
Apparently it's been taken to the castle, but how do I use it?
fair play to the guy, 3 weeks on one segment is pretty hardcore.

I admire people greatly who can come up with strategies as great as that for the Materia Keeper. It's so outside the box - I love it.

I beat Emerald Weapon with the Lucky 7s trick. If you get one of your characters at 7777 HP, they'll hit like 20 times for 7777 each. No idea why they put it in the game.

Well I just picked up the R4 for my DS and I'm wondering what's the best FF DS game to start with?
So far I have Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and Final Fantasy IV but I can dl any other if they're better.

No comparison. IV is more elite in just about every way.
IV has the better story/graphics/gameplay.
III has the fun of the job system.

I tried beating Emerald Weapon with lucky 7s. Doesn't kill it if you go into the fight with 7777 HP. There are plenty of easy strategies for emerald anyway though, so all was fine :)
