no, unfortunately. but Masashi Hamauzu composes. he worked on some of the FF7 and FFX soundtrack, as well as other Square-Enix games.

So I just played through MGS and MGS 2 again. Couple questions... At the end of the first one, Liquid is like "You think you got here by yourself?" If they were just using him, why did they keep trying to kill him, and/or why the hell wouldn't they just kill him and take the PAL key?

Second, people always say there are loads of plotholes in MGS 2, maybe I'm retarded but I'm not really thinking of anything specific, maybe just vague political clashes with the Patriots in the first one. Anyone want to fill me in?

Dragon Quest VIII has been released for about a week and a half now, and I still haven't got it. The average price of games these days is about NZ$80. Yet DQVIII is about NZ$110.

I really doubt they will, it's already a PS2 game in japan, so they'd either have to spend ages remaking the game, or they'd have to release it as is for PS3 which is hardly taking advantage of the hardware.

I started Dragon Quest 6, but I had trouble getting into it. I can tell it's an awesome game, but they controls are just not friendly at all, and I think the translation could be quite a bit better. But, I will give it another try once I'm done with KHII and DMC3.

This guide seems pretty good for getting Excalibur II, in addition to a crapload of other things. Also his tip on skipping FMVs will be quite helpful.

Yea thats the guide i was gonna reference to if I ever need to. What I'm mostly going to do is play the game at normal speed, then when i find a save point, I'm going to reset the game then speed my way through it to the save point. I'll also use that guide to help aswell.

^ Exactly what Im doing, but my playstation (or my first disc) is being really gay. When I get to the second prisoncage battle (when vivi gets captured by it), it never loads the battle. It just plays the battle music and the screen stays black. I even let it stay there for about7 minutes and it still didnt load :(

To the talk about KH2: Get it, it is so worth it. If you like the first one, then you will love this one. They improve everything from the battle system, to the gummi ship stuff. Sephiroth has been beefed up this time too. The entire battle you will be on the edge of your seat. I managed to beat him though :cool: Oh yeah, Auron is badass in KH2.

I didn't like the geostigma thing much, but the rest of the storyline was good enough.

As for playing the game first, there's a recap of the whole game, or what you need to know to understand everything in the movie properly, on the first disc. I even learnt stuff from it that I didn't get from the game, partly because it's better translated than the game and partly because the whole section of the game with Zack and Cloud escaping Shinra Mansion back to Midgar wasn't in the game when I played it for some reason.

Oh, it's a good game. Certainly very impressive from the graphics/FMV point of view. And I personally thought it had a great battle system.

But to me, it was disappointing from a storyline point of view. It just seemed very cliched and had no twists.

Nah, download a dvd ripper and it will work. theyre only protected to stop direct copying from dvd to dvd.

Ive come to my conclusion. When you fuirst set offwith him on disk 1, quale says "take him with you" and mentions Quaina as He alot
now ff7 is on sale over in europe my mum said shed definatley look for it and pick up the first copy she'd find. ive allready seen it in jap subtitles though.

Quina does get refered to as 'him' or 'he', but it can equip female-only stuff in the game. so it's either a transvestite or an it.

Lots of people say "Find a pattern that works."

But every time I tried to stick to a pattern (eg attack heal firaga attack), Ozma would launch an attack that'd have half my crew either out of action or getting close to 0HP.

I just remember myself being fairly lucky. :)

The fight with Penance took awhile, i don't know how long exactly because it was awhile ago, i died a few times trying, but tidus' overdrive and wakkas make it alot shorter.
i haven't played 11 so i don't know about that, i'm not into online rpgs, i feel rushed, and it feels a wee bit competitive too me.

Its been beat on a few servers now, as people have found a wall bug that they still havent patched yet.

Hell, the Archmage in the rank 5-1 battle was tough enough, Sky/Sea Gods give me nightmares though

So the graphics look really, really, really nice for XIII. It looks a lot like VIII in style too. Maybe its just that its going to be futuristic. A female lead should be cool, as long as she's not just a female version of Tidus. Something like Terra cept not bland.

Meh, I'd rather they experiment and go a bit over the top than try the same time period over and over again. A Star Ocean/Xenosagas like Final Fantasy could be really cool IMO.

And if it doesn't work, Square will learn pretty quickly and try other types of worlds. They certainly did so after VIII, releasing the more typical IX. Then found a nice contrast between the two in X.

Yeah, but you know the way it is, when they dont set a firm date it usually means its gonna be delayed. All I could find was that its expected late '06 which doesnt give much hope.

FFVIII was a good mix, but I always thought that FFVI had the perfect mix of futuristic and medieval stuff.

A good example is Figaro Castle. Seems like a normal castle, until the sides combine and it dives into the sand.:thumb:
