That part of the game made me chuckle.

Cait Sith: /me dies in Temple
Everyone else : /me is only pretending to be sad

*less than 5 mins later*

Cait Sith2: /me is teh new Cait Sith!
Everyone else: /me is only pretending to be happy

   Yeah, that part of the game was ridiculous. It was a robot for Christ's sake! It wasn't like Reeve actually sacrificied himself. And what miniscule bit of sympathy you do have for the robot's "sacrifice" is utterly eroded by it's reintroduction straight afterwards. Worst character ever. And Quina.

Y'know, the more I think about it, the more satisfying it felt to take out Scarlet and Heidegger.

What wasn't satisfying was kicking the crap out of the Turks. They were cool. Especially Reno and Rude. :upset:

I suppose I'll play more of that tonight, seeing as it is almost 4AM.

It makes me wonder what was going through their heads when they thought of CT, and then I compare it to what the hell they were thinking when releasing FFX-2.

Why can't Square put out something ingenius again like CT? Just looking back on my childhood, I was in 4th grade when CT came out, and I was blown away by the story, even at that age. The whole going back in different time periods and being able to change the future was such a cool concept that was never really done before. Not to mention the characters and elements in that game were absolutely badass. You can't say that Tidus was a cooler character then lets say, Magus, or Crono. Which brings me to another point, what happened to badass main characters? Now I'm all nostalgic about my childhood and all the free time I had playing videogames and not having to worry about work or college.

CT and FF3/6 both hold a special place in my heart, and it makes me wonder if Square will ever go back to making GOOD games.

Sorry, I haven't been in a happy mood lately, so I'm ranting.

Speaking of Square has anyone tried Dragon Quest 8? It got a 9 at IGN, it looks pretty good and supposedly sports over 100 hours of gameplay if you wanted to do everything. I think its gonna be my next game buy.

Tomorrow I work the midshift. So that means definitely more FFVII time, I haven't played it in a few days.

And I found a way to get around the constant Christmas music, we're selling cheap 5.1 surround sound and a portable DVD player. So if I play customer friendly (no lewd or offensive lyrics) music, then it's all fine.

I made an mp3 disc that contains Silent Hill 3, Evangelion, Pink Floyd, Red Elvises, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Mozart. I just remembered that I had a few CDs of various Cowboy Bebop tracks.

So I revised one to play tomrrow, and now I'm gonna revise it again. I'll start to rip my brothers Bebop CDs and the ones I have to make the final WorkMix CD after I get off work.

I have to go to bed, because I start work at 11AM instead of 2:30PM

I cant decide on my lineup. The choice has been shortlisted to,

Zell, Irvine and Rinoa and I just cant decide. Any suggestions?

It is soooooooooo easy to max everyone out in FFVIII, I would pump everyone up until level 100. It is easy to transfer all you're junctioned stuff from 1 character to another instantly, so why not...If I'm not mistaken at the end of the game you have to split up into a few parties...so if one party is underlevelled you're screwed.

*Was at level 50 before I fought Ifrit :amaze:

Yeah

I was horribly underleveled in VII because I only used one party for the entire game until Aeris died, even after that, it was only another one to use in the party.

I never had much trouble with levels in any FF game. Probably because when I would get to a new city or area, I would gain 2-3 levels before continuing with the story.

That was a bitch. Probably the longest I ever spent stuck on a game. I can't remember exactly what I did. If it's possible to go back into Lunatic Pandora and level up some more do so. If not, cast regen on Rinoa (or use a hero on her if that's possible) and then cast Regen on Squall and use his limits. Of course this isn't safe but make you sure you keep healing Rinoa and if you die just try again.

Yeah, its been so long since I last played that I was shocked by Irvine being such a coward!

Zell's a definite because of his fists and his limit break (you can attack every 1/2 sec) and it just looks cool.
Irvine too is pretty cool character (down slightly since the whole bawling scene), plus his limit break.
You cant have an all male team, so representing the girls = rinoa with her shooting boomerang arm blade thing.

Thing is can you trust Irvine alone with the other 2?...

1. draw + cast Regen on Rinoa
2. cast shell + protect on Rinoa
3. cast meltdown on Adel
4. physically attack Adel

that all you need really. its also good to use Aura on Irvine and attack Adel with AP ammo or fast ammo.

Irvine is the 2nd best character in that game after Squall.

What bawling scene? Irvine never cries, and he only chickens out briefly.

Also, he can be trusted with the other two girls, because he sucks at attracting females.

V. true and it doesnt stop him trying, youve got to give him credit for perserverance. HAHA I love the way he goes to the prison just to rescue Rinoa and leave the others.

I've never tried the junctioning bit, but I will tell you, Level 5 Death will kill a level 100 character. Squall was always at level 100 and since Omega has Initiative, his Level 5 Death always killed him. So in my first turn I'd revive him, keep him in yellow, pop a Hero, and unleash Lionheart.

my artemisia strategy was similar; I waited for her 9998 HP attack, make zell pop a final elixier then quickly selected squall's and irvine's limits before zell can actually use the elexier
that way squall always did the heartbreaker eventhough he had 9999 HP

a lot of machine gun ammo (for irvine's limit) + cast meltdown on adel and aura on irvine
or use steel ammo

draw regena from rinoa and cast it on her

raise irvine's strength as high as you can

how far are you through the game? From memory the fist few gf's to have strength ability are Ifrit, Brothers and Diablos(you get a magic lamp from cid containing him before you head to timber).
like lord abortion said you have to make them learn the ability.

You need to be on the second disk(PC) to have enough gf's to junction to Hp, strength, vit, magic and spirit for all three characters. So far im driving/floating around in balamb garden after fighting raijin, and ive sorta lost the will to play on.

Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
FF XI

FF XI. It's online and from what I've heard here, it's fookin brilliant.

I swear I've seen that "side-quest" about Zell. But I don't really care.

out of those i've only played X, which is great. From what i've heard, avoid X-2 and again from what i've heard XI is awesome.

Buy XI if you're prepared to invest loads of hours into MMORPG antics.

Buy X if you want a complete console game with the replay value of previous FFs.

X is basically a play-the-game-then-toss-it-into-the-pile-of-other-FFs-you'll-play-in-the-near-future-again-when-you-get-bored game. XI is basically a play-the-game-until-you-realize-that-you've-ruined-your-life game.

Anybody ever heard the MP3 of the FF8 answering machine? It's pretty much a bunch of people that made answering machine messages trying to guess what the characters from FF8 would sound like. Some of them are actually really funny (especially Irvine's).

My party (past the point where you can't choose for yourself) was always:

Squall

Irvine

And it will be on my current play through too. Although I'm considering the possibility of swapping Irvine for Selphie, purely because of her 'The End' Limit Break.

He was the worst playable character in the game. I've never used him and never will.

If you use the looping limit break strat on his 12 second shift, you can deal 200,000+ damage in one round.

He's actually very, very useful.

He's actually very, very useful.

I know that technically he's a good character, but he's incredibly annoying (even though it's his very role to be a foil for Squall).

Besides, if Zell's Limit Break is comparable to Selphie's or Irvine's, why put that twat in your party when you could have either of the much cooler characters mentioned?

The start of my Music Tech course last year was great, I was told to ''download as much music as possible, from as many genres and styles as possible, and if you can get hold of a copy of Cubase, we have a few dongle cracks lying around...''

I'm the only student in my year doing Music Tech this year, at the end of it I might just ask the technicians for a copy of SX3 and a Midi Keyboard.
