FFXII just needs a dark storyline, that was what was so great about VII, VIII and IX to a point, they werent too fast paced, and had some tense moments, where you kept playing to find out more not just reach the nerarest save point.

Exactly, part of the problem was the voiceovers, it ruined the suspense and left awkward moments were conversations just sounded weird and out of place. You need to read what they say, that way you give them your own voices and you read what they say your own way.
I liked X it just wasnt as good, and thats the reason.(see 5 posts back)

Thing is x voiceover were allright, it just didnt have the same feel as when you read the text.

yeah, you need to get the enemy to hit that character with a blue magic. the difference between 7 is that you cant use that move until the end of the battle. also, once you've learned the skill, you dont need to repeat it for the other characters.

it seemed impossible at first since he would do a 9999HP attack on one of my characters each round and I struggled a little at first but in the end it only took me squall counter attacking him a few times, meltdown and three irvine limits being 100 machine gun ammo (thanks for the tip red brachetta :thumb: ) and 2 steel ammo :cool:

and about 6 final elixiers and 7 times full-life :lol:

fast ammo + meltdown for the win really
each hit made 800 - 1600 damage and I fired about 50 times per limit
you do the math:D

im surprised you havent brought up that the midi music is garbage compared to the real cd music on the PSX version. however, thats what custom soundfonts are for (qhimm.com). Theres a guy named Samuel Slight that made an incredible FF8 soundfont that sounded frighteningly close to the original OST, and it was all midi. theres also a program you can get for FF7 pc version that allows you to use the mp3s for the music.:thumb:

I never would have thought I would see such a huge Final Fantasy topic.

I am not too much a fan of the game at all. I played pretty much played them all though. I never liked 7, loved 8, hated 9, liked 10. WTF with 10-2.

So yeah, I have sort of been in a Final Fantasy mood lately, but I don't have any of the games to play. The bad habbit with me on these games is I get bored halfway through and just stop caring about finding whatever I need to or going wherever I need to. Still fun for awhile though.
