How big is the HD on your mp3 player?

DeusExMachina
11-08-2005, 09:37 PM
60 gigs. I wanted to get something bigger, but all the companies that make bigger ones are unknown, and my dad got it for me as a birthday present, so I'm not complaining.

I like the bluesy part of Matoya's Cave. I really like in the live version, when they have that little jam session. But, the beginning is definitely superior.

MAthiAS

Yeah I'm thinking about looking into one either on ebay or as a birthday (December 1st) present. Probably a 40GB Zen Touch, seems to be the best bang for your buck.

Actually the Zen Xtra looks pretty good too. Sacrifice some battery life for 20 more gigs. Tough call.

MAthiAS, I would recommend sacrificing the battery life. As long as it's decent, it should give you at least 10 hours of battery life, which should be able to last you for a day. Then, you charge it at night.

So I'll probably buy FF10 over my xmas break, and I was wondering how you all played it in terms of levelling up your characters. Did you conscientiously build all of them up to be of a similar level to each other of did you have a team you used for 90% of the time?

I personally think I might stick with a permanent team (lulu, auron and the main kid and yuna) like did on all previous FFs, unless someone can convince me of the benefits of investing time and effort in all the characters.

i found leveling everyone up equally was better because they all had different abilities that you needed in certain battles, apart from Rikku and Wakka i never used them.

I don't think it really matters, because that game had an extremely low difficulty for story completion. But if you want to do the Battle Arena... good luck.

It's easy enough to just keep switching characters, seeing as it dosn't take up a turn, but the question is is it worth it? Well not really, as someone said you need certain characters for certain parts, but other than that just use the best guys.
Great game though.

Still soloing it? There are some battles in that game that are obscenely difficult to solo.

MAthiAS
11-10-2005, 08:39 PM
Yeah I am. Solo Monk is pretty easy for most battles, because Hamedo is amazing along with massive healing, and two high powered long range attacks. Easy leveling, etc... But Velius only physically attacks if I have low HP, in which case I Hamedo him, but then get pwned by Dark Holy from one of the Demons.

After this I think I'll do a Tactics Double Dare with a Dancer/Time Mage and Ninja/Thief, sounds fun. I'd do Samurai/Monk but I'm going to be really sick of monk abilities...

DeusExMachina

MAthiAS

MAthiAS
11-10-2005, 10:22 PM
Leveling Cloud... easily:

Here is what you need:
1. A mage that can cast frog.
2. Beowulf for casting Berserk.
3. A knight with Power and Speed Break Skill.
4. A bard to sing 'NAMELESS SONG' (regen, raise, protect, shell)
5. A person you want leveled, or job points for. (Cloud is good since he starts out at level one)

The method:
1. Kill all the enemies except one.
2. Have your mage turn the last remaining enemy into a frog.
3. Use your knight to 'Power Break' the last remaining enemies attack to 1 point of damage.
4. Have your mage turn the character you want leveled into a frog.
5. Use your knight to 'Power Break' the character you want leveled.
6. Use Beowulf to 'Berserk' both frogs.
7. Have your bard sing 'NAMELESS SONG'.
8. Run all characters (not frogs) away from the battle, then put them on auto battle (run like a rabbit).
9. Turn off your TV and go to bed.
10. Wake up and you have just leveled a bunch of times, not to mention your job pts are in the thousands.

Maximization:
You can have more than one bard at a time, or dancer to maximize your progression in leveling.

They're trying to appeal to the emo kids while still appealing to the overly talkative annoying people. Ugh... it almost makes me feel too old to like it.

Otherside... this is regression. Progressive would be fine, and maybe they did that with XI, but this is just further alienating the fans of the pre PS2 games.

The voice actors/actresses chosen for FFVII: Advent Children were well cast. At least to me, they sounded like how I'd think they'd sound. I'm fine with reading subtitles and listened to non-forced lines, I hope the english dub will be as good.

Yeah, pretty much.

I mean, look at FFVII, they took a big chance with the story, making it more futuristic, and even more so with FFVIII, and those two are great games. The stories and battle systems worked well, and the characters were well thought out, particularly in VII.

With X and X-2 though, it really seemed like the game couldn't live up to the graphics. The characters were pretty bland, they were either really energetic or really quiet. And anyone who didn't see every plot twist from a mile away might want to consider being institutionalized.

Pop music sucks

It's going to be set a long time before Tactics. In Tactics, there's no technology. The old civilization with airships and stuff has been dead for a long time. And yet, FFXII has airships. So it's either going to be way in the past, or way in the future. Future could be kind of cool, actually... with Ramza being like some famed hero or something.

MAthiAS
11-11-2005, 09:30 PM

Reliving the Fantasy

IF you were cruising the internet through the week of E3, you probably read about SE's hot to trot FFVII tech demo, which was shown during Sony's preshow press conference to help convey the power of the PS3. Unfortunately, you probably also read how Square's president denied that the footage meant a remake of its colossal PS1 role-playing game was in the works. Put away the Kleenex, people; we have it on very, very (notice the double verys) good authority that the company is indeed bringing a visually updated version of FFVII to PS3. Any other details? Well, Aerith still dies in this version, so maybe you should keep those tissues within arms reach.

i dont use GF summons in VIII
I use them just because they're so pretty.

And the button mashing means you don't just sit around watching it the whole time, you have something to do.

i love to use gfs, but i dont as much as i used to because my normal attacks are taking more damage off apponents, i still use them for fun

dont you guys think the way eden is summoned its really long and pointless?

dont you guys think the way eden is summoned its really long and pointless? Yes, even if you screw up doing the square button boost you could still easily get to 250. It was fun to watch the first time, but after that I never used it.

Yeah, they might as well just give you the 250 boost and call it a day.

I loved watching Bahamut's GF. Twas really cool.

I never really use summons, unless the enemy was weak agianst it, I'm too impatient to sit through the animation really.

Yeah, 1 or 0. He also adds some status effects to the enemy.
Listening to some FFVIII music, right now...

by the way, you get crap exp off a zolom i swear, you get like 300 expI know that also, I only want to kill it because I can.

What I'm gonna do is level them up enough so that they barely survive Beta, that way I won't be too high to really utilize the experience it gives me.

Like I haven't played the game before:rolleyes:

Yeah, anybody else try to draw the characters from the Official Guidbook.

I still have some of the better redrawings.

I can't draw any of my own, they're all just "*looks at picture* *looks at paper* *draws*":(

My friend, however, made awesome drawings all the time.

around 95% of the people that have played X-2 says that it sucks. if you really want to play it, i suggest borrowing off a friend.

if you dont like it but want to see the ending, i suggest you do what i did and download it somewhere on the internet.

I think ffx-2 is a great game, sure it's not like the other Final Fantasy games but it's great fun to play. Also I claim it's got the best battle system FF has ever had and I love the whole dressphere thing.
Plus the gameplay in it feels really non-linear which is great.

Japanese is a very complex yet vague language, almost opposite of English. I used to want to learn to speak it, but I eventually gave up :\
