I think we should have a recall poll to take out Sector 7 Slums.

And what's the link to the FF piano music CDs again? :/ I feel silly asking after its been posted so many times...

Right. There really is no true classification for TBM - especially not cover band, because it is Nobuo's band - other than "Video Game" or "Game" or somesuch.

And we wouldn't be a cover band, we'd be a tribute band.

The best part, I'm actually half serious about it. It could be a lot of fun.

Liberi Fatali
10-29-2005, 11:52 PM
I don't think it qualifies as a cover band if the composer performs with them bro. I think it is, they're playing the Final Fantasy originals in their own style with a different take on the music, and 5 out of the 6 guys aren't the composer. (Yes I realise he created the band but still)

I consider them to be a cover band, but really it doesn't matter what they are.

Thread projects usually fail though lol. I'd actually rather cover any FF music and not restrict ourselves to ones that TBM have done, because I think the mellower/non rock based pieces are the best. Ie You're Not Alone, On the Other Side of the Mountain, Cosmo Canyon, etc.

You have to register first before you are able to D/L, but once you do, it seems to be excellent stuff. I'm looking through "J-E-N-O-V-A" now, and it's looking high quality. It's straight from the freakin' book. It's perfect.

ninja EDIT: It's also not all there. It stops at page 13. It seems that our friend is still in the process of scanning/uploading things. Understandable, really. It's a long, slow job. I scanned in "The Real Folk Blues" from the Cowboy Bebop OST, and that took for-freakin'-ever to actually scan in and then fiddle with it so that it would fit into my Yahoo! mail. :P it was ended up being rather large even as a ZIP file.

I'll patiently wait for him to finish, and practice what I have.

second EDIT: I'm retarded. He clearly posted a second link next to the original one, containing the rest of the pages. Dammit, I've been having foot-in-mouth all day today. Anyway, "J-E-N-O-V-A", it's all there, all 233 measures of greatness, in proper book form, so I'm going to get to work on that very soon. Awesome.

I like playing guitar anyway.:thumb:

So, lets hear some ideas.

Although, with guitar, I like to do the more heavy and/or faster songs that can be easily complimented with blazing solos. I'm not the best doing clean guitar but i can do it. I know from reading above that Mathias likes the slow more tasteful songs.

Heres my soundclick if you want to hear some crap. Everything from 1776 and above is my newer stuff with my new equipment pretty much, and the ACOS solo is pretty poor compared to the way I play it now.

Liberi Fatali is a great song, but are you sure you're thinking of it? Is it also the song that is also in the intro movie of VIII, or is it slightly different?

There is another song called Fithos Lusec Vinosec that is similar to Liberi fatali in that it has that same repeating chorus, just darker and more dramatic.

I disagree. I'd like to think I'm not an RPG noob, but I think 7 is the best along with 6. Sephiroth was a great character. He had a lot of depth to him, thanks to his comprehensive past with Cloud and his own creation. The way his ideas gradually unfolded as the game progressed was excellent. I agree about the loose ends at the end of the game, there were just too many unanswered questions. But aside from that, the storyline and gameplay make it one of the best.

The thing was, I understood the basic stuff like for example, the derivative of x^2 = 2x(ive known this since I was about 4 years old), but once they start getting into the HUGE problems where its like polynomials with powers inside parenthesis and friggin square roots divided by more polynomials, oh my god its a nightmare. That ffdream.com is the best site ever.

Playing FF8 atm... the start is so tedious and boring!

No it isn't. It's French.

And yes the start is boring. Quistis got right up my arse with all her "Before we go any further, let me tell you about the junction system..." NO. I already know about it.

That was the beauty of FFIX. There was no compulsory trainign section. The bit with the moogles could be bypassed.

I do, but the point is I shouldn't have to. Instructions is what the manuals are for.

fatbandit

I find practical tutorials explain much better than manuals.

Skipping them isn't a huge problem.

Yeah Exactly. And some people are to stupid to think there's instructions in The Manual.

red barchetta
11-03-2005, 11:18 AM
the reason why there wasnt many tutorials in 9 is because the system in 9 wasnt as complex as the junction system in 8. and dont tell me you didnt find junctioning complicating as a n00b.

The XI job system was awesome. Some of my most enjoyable MMORPG moments ever were my Thief/Ninja days doing the Genkai quests.

The skill chain combos I ripped with one of my fellow static Samurai partners were hilariously powerful.

Hells yes, Ninja Editors.

The second most popular is Black Mages, sure, but... As we saw with Sector 7... Popular = bad, therefore, Ninja Editors it is :)

Logical.

go for sector 7 slums the reason its so popular is that most peolple loved FF7- amazing game when it came out and can relate to it. If I saw ninja editors id think to myself WTF? now thats logical.
