So, Kingdom Hearts 2 is coming out pretty soon, anyone going to purchase it?

I personally loved the first and can't wait for this one.

I'm hoping for a lot more FF chraracters, but so far I've only seen Auron :(
I'm hoping to get it the day it comes out. I can't wait.

Me too. But try to do a low level game on expert setting, and still beat Sephiroth. Now that's a challenge. My best was 64, but I know people who've beaten Seph on expert on levels as low as 50. One guy did it on level 54 with the Kingdom Keyblade, and the crappiest armor. It was very impressive.

Today is my birthday! And tomorrow I'm going to see Paul McCartney! I'm really excited. I've been whoring that in all the threads I frequent.

I've found myself going back andf playing them looking for aggro towards characters, and trying to link limit breaks.

its lost something for me now, as well as being too easy

And if you played Chain of Memories, it expands it somewhat. I'm hoping that KH2 will shape up to be darker, focusing on developing the main story more and with less emphasis on the Disney stories.

Oh yeah, I'll post some of the FF inspired stuff that I've been writing. I've got like one song's guitar part pretty much finished, and two others maybe half or so done.

Course, this is assuming all goes according to plan... My comp hates me now, and I've got a history of writing stuff I can't play lol.

MAthiAS, I'd like to hear what you've written some time. What do you use to write music? For guitar, I generally play it first, then write it down, so I never have a problem with writing stuff I can't play. I write stuff I can't play pretty often for piano and cello, though.

I'll usually play it first, and never write it down, because if I ever go back to a tab I'll totally forget the feeling I want to play it with. But I usually write songs over long periods of time, so its hard to go back to things I wrote two months ago, even if they're not techincal. I can't really write a song in one sitting usually. So I end up recording things long after I've written them, and its quite a challenge for my fingers to just remember everything.

Another example would be writing something, then changing my technique, thus making what I wrote before a lot harder to play. Like my switch from economy picking to pure alternate.

Not to mention that record button = instant noobdom. :P

I'l only play stuff I'm confident I can play live, but that does include solos and whatnot. But live I tend to screw up more by not paying attention than by having bad technique or whatever. Like I'll screw up the simplest thing, or forget to count repeats, or start a song too early, or something like that.

Oh yeah, I had a power outage yesterday because of all this rain we've got... I was so pissed because it went out right in the middle of practicing, and the other side of my street had power. It was out for like 3 hours... so I didn't get anything done at all... and I was going to do my essay too...

FFVII once
FFVIII twice, because I cracked the 2nd disc
FFIX once but I need to get a new one because discs 3&4 were stolen and 1&2 freeze in cut scenes
FFX once but I need to get it again because it freezes a lot.
I need to take care of my games more :(

SNES = GOD OF CONSOLES

It really had games that no new-age system will ever be able to compete with. Chrono Trigger (quite possibly the greatest game ever made), Mega Man, Zelda, Killer Instinct, Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, Secret of Mana...the list goes on. I would kill for a SNES with the appropriate games.

Never happened, trying to get tone from my amp is like trying to get blood from a stone. Plus as tool thread regs know, recording equipment and me are mortal enemies

Yeah, they have a lot of awesome smilies. Some of them should be removed though I think, its annoying to scroll through a ton of them.

And yeah, I can't wait to get my PODxt, it'll make writing working harmonies a lot easier, and I need to get some samples to this drummer I know as well. Plus I want you guys to check my stuff out :thumb:

It's a great program once you start to get the hang of making beats and fills.

make sure one of your characters are zombified, since one of Yunalesca's attack kills all your characters that arent zombies.

other than that... maybe enter the battle with full overdrive gauges, and use them all when she's in her final form? and cast haste on your characters, its very useful.

i cant help you much... its been a while. although i remember struggling more on that Guardian boss after mt. Gagazet

Hmm, I was funny with FFX, I pwned some bosses totally (Seymour on top of the mountain didn't get to attack, for example), while I struggled with some easy ones.

However, there is no foolproof method. I did some catching to get Auron some Zombieproof armour, I remember. Other than that, you need to have both zombified and unzombified characters at all times. Don't use ODs and Summon ODs on the first form. Take the second form out with strong attacks and a couple of weaker ODs, then unleash hell on the third form.

all the suggestions that youy guys made are stuff that i've already been doing :upset: i can get to her 3rd form no problem ijust can't seem to heal my team effectively, i have no potions so i have to use Yuna's white magic to cure zombie so i can use curaga but every time i get rid of zombie yunalesca just puts it back on me :upset:

i found the Seymour battles easy

Then don't get rid of zombie. You need to keep at least one person unzombified. Make that the person with the Zombieproof armour.

For the rest, try reflect? Yunalesca tries to use Curaga on you, right? So that should stop the need for your healing, if you aren't getting hurt.

You have to forge it (or synthesise, or whatever its called in X).

You need Purifying Salts to do it.

I got these through capturing the zombie men in the ruins before Yunalesca I think.

Though come to think of it, it may have been 'capture one of every monster in the ruins, and go to the Monster Arena to receive 99 Purifying Salts'.

It could also have been just beat them up and collect Purifying Salts as a rare drop.

It could also have been steal from them to get Purifying Salts. I forget.

then again, if you want to heal and you dont have potions, you can get your characters to equip a fire-absorb armour;

cast reflect on Yunalesca, and then a fire magic at her. it should bounce back at you, and thanks to the armour, you get healed.

I found a materia combo for Red xiii that added up to 7777 once but i didnt record it. Then i levelled up. And that was that.

Barret at level 60 with the right combination has natural lucky 7's I think. Either that or level 70.

It's level 70. But it didn't work for me. And on all my games he is past level 70 and i cant be bothered playing it again for a while. FF10 now, FF8 next.

i tried to beat Yunalesca again today, i died :upset:

Yulalesca is easy i don't see the problem here. Is yuna levelled up? buy lots of Holy waters and customise them into zombieward armours (they don't work all the time, but hey its better than nothing), Lulu doublecast (do you even have that yet?) Firaga and get yuna to summon bahamuts mega flare at the last stage. You'll also need someone with deathward or deathproof armour, to stop that annoying Megadeath attack. Just make sure after every time yunalesca uses her zombie attack, heal them immdiately (it only takes away a small amount of HP so just unzombie them) and you should be fine.

If you go to www.gamefaqs.com and go to the FFVII section, (at least I think it's there) someone wrote a guide on how to get someone to 7777 by using the right combination of items and other weird stuff. It's interesting.

Without reading the guide, i know a way to get lucky 7's. Just have your HP below 7777 and then manipulate and mini a monster. this way the monster will hit for 1 damage. do it until you have the last two digits of 77, then use potions to heal up to 7777.

I wouldn't know about any of them since I couldn't stand to use the character.

Anyone else find it really annoying how that section where Dagger and Steiner disappear back off to Alexander resulted in them having far lower health than anyone else when they were reuinted with the others. Man that annoyed me SO much.

blue magic/enemy skill is probably my favourite command in FF (apart from Kimahri's).

Ah, my crew was Zidane (though I thought he was a bit poor), Quina with Limit Glove doing 9999 damage (when on 1HP... Though Auto Life sorted that :)), Vivi casting Flare on himself with Reflectx2 for 9999 damage and Steiner just doing a few thousand damage with some attack or another. No White Magic.

Yuffie's got pretty good limit breaks actually, I use her some.

There's like 3 other PODxt's on ebay for the same price, if you're interested. I actually got the one that's in the worst condition, lol.

I would but we're like in debt pretty bad, so my dad cant use any of his credit cards.

Maybe when I get paid at the end of the month I'll use a money order.

I've only gotten 3 final limit breaks on VII.

I got the excalibur II, in like 11 and a half hours. It doesn't do that much damage however, because the characters aren't levelled up.

I tried to mix my group around in FFIX, but favourites were Zidane, Freya, Quina, Eiko.

In final fantasy I often tended to use the characters i think look coolest which is a piss poor way to decide. But I could never bring myself to use Quina that much because it looked like a ****ing twat.

I always base my decision on who which characters are integral to the story/very useful/look cool. Hence:

FFVII: Cloud, Tifa, Barret

FFVIII: Squall, Rinoa, Irvine

FFIX: Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, Steiner

Quina's in my major party. What you do is, see, you learn Frog Drop, catch a ****load of frogs (time consuming but rewarding), then 9999 their arse. Take that, you sorry person! It's simple and doesn't take a lot of MP. Also, she/he can learn some pretty funky defensive moves. Almost like a Black/White mage - a good allrounder.
no silly, the thing to do with Quina is to learn lvl 5 death from the Whale Zombie then use it to fight the Grand Dragons thus gaining major AP :)

^^^yes. I did that for an exhaustingly long amount of time. The hours i spent above gizamelukes grotto, you can't imagine! Then i got to Memoria and just fought the toughies over and over again. I'd give my lvl 99's the Virus, and just go like the clappers. Yay for Quina!

I felt she/he was a little underrated. I guess if you're a thorough player, and can be bothered learning all the moves, she/he can be an awesome asset. But, if you're just breezing through, like a lot do, you'll miss out on the potential. Shame. For the record, my preferred party:

Sephiroth summoned Meteor using the black materia. It was meant to send a meteor to severely damage the earth, and Sephiroth was going to use this wound in the earth to draw spirit energy to himself and become some kind of god.

I liked the zell a lot. I never found him annoying at all. A funny thing about my old FFVIII game is that I never got Meteor barrett, so I have no idea what that attack loks like.

Me too. Zell was obnoxious, but I used him in combat all the time. Selphie was horribly weak, and the only female I ever used was Quistis.

Which is why I love Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, it is a fully orchestral album of Final Fantasy VIII songs. It really brings the music to life.

That entire soundtrack is unparalleled.

I think the VII is the best one. And the best game. It just reminds you of certain bits of the game, i think. Thats why i like it the best. I thought X's sucked apart from a couple of songs, the Mt Gagazet one was good. Yeah Mt Gagazet was a great song. There always seems to be a few beautiful and peaceful melodies on each Final Fantasy Soundtrack. Like Balamb Garden in VIII, Bran Bal The Soulless Village and Esto Gaza in IX etc.

Quite often they're one of the highlights on the soundtracks for me.

Terra and Esto Gaza (esp. the intro to Esto Gaza) were favourites. As well as the world map theme and You're not alone. (for FF9)

The Orchestrated FFVII overworld theme is amazing.

If they remade FFVII (which I know they won't, before you leap on me :p), they would have to orchestrate everything properly, seeing as they have the means. And man, Still More Fighting with real electric guitars, real distortion, real crunch. That would be more than amazing.

JENOVA, for the reunion, and One Winged Angel are the standout tracks IMO.
I never really got all the hype about One Winged Angel. Its good, but its far from Nobuo's best piece.

And I hate the new MX layout so much.

So I broke a string on my guitar, first time that's happened in literally years. Meh, gives me an excuse to play FF now, because no guitar shops are open yet.

Solo Tactics or replay VII is the question now....
Solo tactics. Without a doubt. It's so much fun.

Yeah, it sucks balls now. 10 posts per page, scrolling through 8 million huge *** names that you don't care about. Agh words cannot describe my hatred of it.

I tried to solo tactics, but forgot to save before the first battle, and lost the luck game because Delita decided to use dash... idiot. So I didn't want to sit through the intro again so I started a low level game of FFVII. Might put that on hold though.

I know it's based on FF7, I have seen it. But I swear there's music from FF8 and FF9 in it. Not a lot mind, only about one track from each. The FF9 music occurs when Tifa is fighting that Elvis impersonator in the church. I'm sure of it.

go to 'musiques' (the site is French), and go to the soundtrack you want. then download the zip folder near the top, and click on 'telecharger' in the new window.
