Today was probably the most fun ive had in the game yet, teamed up wth 5 people, went to the Zerkurm Dunes, really cool, battles are alot more fun.

Oh and..my game screwed up after a fight, and im seperated from my party :upset:

So basically im stranded in the middle of nowhere..i will have to wait for another party to pick me up, not running all the way to Bastok :(

Red Mages are cool when soloing, but you do become the support guy in the party, casting the status spells and backing up healing.

Most of the cool characters need lvl 30 on a normal char, and then to do a quest to unlcok them.

Head back at 16 to work up some cash (then do that mission dammit!). Plus your sub job will appear before 20, so you'll need to go back to set that.

Lvl 20 is your pilgrimage to jeuno btw, thats fun playing aggro dodging with malboros. But at the end, you reach the sweet city, and a chocobo licence quest.

You can solo that mission now, just keep killing those Quadavs till you get the last item (hell, i've sent you 3 already!). Its a ncie easy way to get crystals too, especially the super useful fire ones.

Missions after that are simple (go someplace, do simpletask, go back.) Then you'll get to the one im waiting on, which you'll need a team for (i've been told 3 at least, so we're set)

Depends on your definition of beating the game.. you can complete the storyline for your nation by achieving rank 10, and then the story lines for the other nations and the expansions that each come with their own amount of missions and awesome storyline. There is no clear-cut "end" to the game however.

off topic,but I was watching Dodgeball:a true underdog story, and at the end when he gets a treasure box full of money, it says Dues Ex Machina on the treasure box. I was like WTF, but it's true. Where did you get your name from?

Deus Ex Machina is greek for "Machine of the Gods." It was a literary device used in Greek plays. Basically, it's some guy who flys around and randomly appears to save the hero. It's the Greek version of Divine Intervention, essentially.

If you saw Donnie Darko, there's the scene when he's got the knife to his neck and he's on the street, after going into the cellar. The guy with the knife is really pissed off, and Donnie whispers something, and the guy with the knife flips out and is like "WHAT DID YOU SAY??!!?!? OMGWTF!!!!" After that, a car appears out of nowhere and saves Donnie. If you turn the volume up and listen, what Donnie whispered was "Deus Ex Machina." Also, there's a scene in the directors cut where Donnie mentions it in his English class. That movie is, after all, all about divine intervention.

Deus Ex Machina is greek for "Machine of the Gods." It was a literary device used in Greek plays. Basically, it's some guy who flys around and randomly appears to save the hero. It's the Greek version of Divine Intervention, essentially.

If you saw Donnie Darko, there's the scene when he's got the knife to his neck and he's on the street, after going into the cellar. The guy with the knife is really pissed off, and Donnie whispers something, and the guy with the knife flips out and is like "WHAT DID YOU SAY??!!?!? OMGWTF!!!!" After that, a car appears out of nowhere and saves Donnie. If you turn the volume up and listen, what Donnie whispered was "Deus Ex Machina." Also, there's a scene in the directors cut where Donnie mentions it in his English class. That movie is, after all, all about divine intervention.
I wish i'd watched that when it came on, sounds interesting.

So...you can make it so that don't have dark skin?? (as in their white). I always think of "elves" that have paler skin. Also, would it be good if I do go Hume, to be a Red Mage? It says hume are balanced, and it also says the red mage is a jack of all trade............can they use weapons as well?

Actually, I guess Vivi could rise up. Its weird though, we really don't know who's going to be going down next. I don't think anyone's even hurt Locke all game, Terra's got too many fanboys, same for Vincent, Vivi seems to get most of the non regulars along with Tifa as well. Tifa's got a lot of haters though :(

Anyway, about FFXI I'm in a delimma, when I get the game (and I will....eventually) I'm not sure wich race to be. Elvaan or Hume? I was leaning toward Hume at first, and now Elvaan. Sigh....I probably won't be getting it for another 6 months...hehe. But I like to have everything planned out.

PMM is a FF remix album that has a bunch of people from VGmix and Overclocked Remix doing overhauls of FF music. I heard some samples a few years ago when it came out. Im just curious if anybody actually owns it. :thumb:

The PS2 registered it as a Ps1 game but during loading it up the screen went black and went back to the first PS2 menu. I tried it again but the same happened. I checked the disc and it doesn't have that many scratches on.. Has anyone else had this problem before?

My Ps2 does that a lot, try cleaning the disk anyway and try turning your Ps2 upside down, i heard that works somehow. Failing that, reset it until your Ps2 works.

You don't actually get Exp points or AP points, your skills of using Weapons/Armour/Magic grow as you fight, as does your HP.

It takes quite a bit of getting used to.
