You have 4 points to dispose of however you choose. You do not have to use 2 for healing and 2 for hurting. Examples:

Hurt Kefka x4
or

Heal Tifa x3
or
Hurt Kefka x3
Heal Tifa x1

And yes, its not just a cut scene, you do actually stay on the boat while it sails (takes about 15 mins for this trip, 5 game hours)

There are things to do, like fishing and such. Or randomly having special mobs come in and maul people on deck (thank god there were lvl 75 paladins on board)

Then, as if there wasnt enough to do, we get attacked by pirates, which involves them boarding the ship and attacking anyone on deck (at this point, I legged it below deck again and let the higher lvls take them)

The game is fun, it gets even funner at lvl 20 with your journey to Qufim IMO. That place is cool as hell, you getta fight these trolls that look alike to the ones in Lord of the Rings.

And yes, its not just a cut scene, you do actually stay on the boat while it sails (takes about 15 mins for this trip, 5 game hours)

There are things to do, like fishing and such. Or randomly having special mobs come in and maul people on deck (thank god there were lvl 75 paladins on board)

Then, as if there wasnt enough to do, we get attacked by pirates, which involves them boarding the ship and attacking anyone on deck (at this point, I legged it below deck again and let the higher lvls take them)

it's kinda like the job system in FFT, but a lot simpler. for example, if you equip the stone that gives you the black mage power, then you have to earn job points and will learn the ability black magic. then you can equip the monk crystal, and equip the black magic ability, and then you have a monk with black mage powers. :thumb:

so like I said, it's very similair to the job system in tactics, but not nearly as complex.

Personally I think you should wait till they have a price drop, by this time you would have a good idea of which console can do what and which games appeal to you the most, this will ensure you don't regret your descision. Not only that but you will be saving money, hell you might even be able to buy both after price drops.

Yeah, I think thats what I'll do, I currently only have $100 :upset:, but I should have at least $200 by the time the 360 comes out, and maybe $300, when the PS3 comes out; if I wait I should be covered :) . I guess I'll keep saving, and for christmas I can get additions to my set! :thumb:

I'd say they were helpful. You could use them again and again and they had a HP which would protect you whilst you summon them.

Before you make a character and start the game, wait for Mister Che or AJIG to give you a worldpass code here in this thread, then type 'Siren' in the server/world bit, then put the worldpass code in, this is after you have decided on your character.

Then choose to start in the Republic of Bastok.

You mean Seph, the Ice Giant, Kurt Zisa, and the Phantom thingie? Yeah, I was obsessed with that game for awhile, so I did everything there was to be done, and then did it again on the expert difficulty setting.
