back to FF :p , did anyone ever get a "limit break" in VI? it's supposed to happen randomly when a chracter is real weak and you pick attack. i only got it once, and it was with Edgar, called "Royal Attack" or something like that. never happened again.

There's supposedly a 1 in 3 chance of doing a Critical Attack. I've never seen a single one though. I'm usually not stupid enough to stay critical to use one, but I guess they're ridiculously powerful.

Yeah it happens when you have severe low HP. It doesn't happen that much but it pwns when it works. :thumb:

If you're at critical HP, you have a 5% chance of doing a critical attack. Not very good odds, but they're very powerful.

I got Terra's limit. It was pretty hot. Apparently it poisons the enemies, but I wouldn't know because it killed all of them.

Yeah Galbadian soldiers are pretty cool, i just remembered the fmv where Galbadia Garden attacks Balamb garden (thats what happens right?), and the Galbadian soldiers are attacking with the hover type things, very cool.

Plus the stat increase seems well rounded

When I started out I had a few online friends, and we all got the game around the same time, and the one that went BLM did the RDM approach as well, and he really liked it. But just as a fair warning, at some point you're probably going to end up leveling WHM at somepoint as well, because some parties really do need that extra curing power.

Another thing, Otherside, AJIG etc, have you guys tried the expansions yet, how are they?

Well the expansions are kind of well.. different I guess. With the first expansion, Rise of Zilart, there were three new jobs introduced(samurai ninja dragoon) and lots of new areas unlocked, and whole new set of missions. However, the only real use you'll get out of this expansion beyond the new jobs for a long long time will be the Elshimo Uplands and Lowlands, which are part of an island you ride an airship too. These are crucial to leveling from 25-33. Beyond that, the missions are extremeley tough, and I only recently did them myself. You really have to have a 65+ job to do these, and even then, getting enough people together is still a hard thing.

Now, Chains of Promethia, offered no new jobs, and around the same amount of areas and missions. The difference here is, the missions are mostly level capped @30 or 40, making it much more accesible to the lower level players.

Thief's job is hate control. At level 15 we get Sneak Attack, which deals alot of damage if we hit the mob from behind. Then at 30, we get trick attack, which when behind another party member, deals alot of damage and transfers all the hate from that attack onto them. So, when we stack SATA and attack a mob from behind a player, they will likley get the mobs attention. Beyond that, we have very powerful weapon skills that we can also stack with SATA, doing over 1k damage endgame on EXP mobs.
My level: 67


Ranger are straight DD(Damage Dealers) through the use of Bows, Crossbows, and Guns. They can deal extreme damage and their weapon skills are devastating. Low defense is their only real draw back, besides the fact that you have to be insanley rich to buy ammo.
My level: 41

Dark Knight are DD as well, although they do it differently. The main weapons of a DRK are Scythes and Greatswords, along with some black magic spells. At level 60, they sub thief, and deal even better damage, but cannot manage hate like use thiefs can.
My level: 0(I havn't even unlocked this job >_>)

In all seriousness though, Samurai own. I love partying with them. They are DD but what makes them stand out is thier fast TP build up, allowing them to unleash Weaponskills faster than anyone else, so fast in fact, they can actually perform their own Skillchains. Plus their AF armor just looks insane.

I'm on floor 70 of the ancient cave. Things are going better, since I got my capsule monster (kind of like Umaro, they're these monsters that fight for you and can evolve) to it's top evolution stage, and I'm using the one that can heal me. So, things are looking up, hopefully it will remain so.

I would, but to be honest, I don't care about the game. I'm sure it's a hell of an experience but I'm more than content with playing WC3 online right now.

And just FYI, I could easily afford it. I have a job and plenty of money saved so buying the game and even paying the monthly fee would be no problem. The only problem would be that I already use my parent's credit card for so many other things I'm sure a monthly payment is the absolute last thing they want from me.

But like I said, I just don't care right now. Maybe I will in the future.

My parents would never cover the monthly fee because they're not stupid, they might pay the $20 for the game if they felt nice, but I wouldn't ask them to. I already do chores for allowance, and that money is going into gear. Once I get my rig a little bit closer to happening, I'll get FFXI. But right now I don't have a single piece of the rig I want, and I play guitar way more than I would play FFXI.

I wish game developers would at least once look at what fans want instead of their own production team. I would kill - several times - for a new Chrono game, even though I felt CC was a disappointment. But then again, look at FF. I wouldn't want the Chrono series disgraced like that.

I'm pretty sure I did. I played 6 games last night (I'm 3-3...could be better). The average length was 20-30 minutes. Two of them the guy left right in the beginning, but one games last an hour and a half. I should be covered.

Ill probably end up around that area today, my last party in the dunes had the most spectacular collapse last night, where the puller managed to not see the 3 goblins on his way back with an already deadly crab on its way. The order to run came pretty quick, and I ended up zoning the other end of the map. So instead of risking running back through the dunes solo, and the fact that Bastok is now miles away, ill do some exploring :D

Plus why does every tank and provoker at my lvl seem to suck? My casting time is down to a 20 sec+ delay because they cant manage the hate at all. Loads of good Whm though

They really dont suck at all. But the main problems are that alot of the better equipment is innaccesible to them. And early on, the invite rates are some of the worst. However, at high levels, Dragoons are everywhere. Yes they do have jump. In fact, they have Jump, High Jump, and Super Jump. Not only that, they also have a small pet wyvern that follows them around.

Nope. Beastmasters are the only soloing job in the game. They can solo all the way to 75 if they want, although most choose to duo with another BST.

Are you going to be a junior? I took AP lit and composition and AP calculus last year (junior year) and AP euro sophomore year. Euro was the hardest of the three, in my opinion.
