yeah that what I do, but in IX, it splits up the characters for you. I think it was zidane and quina, steiner and vivi, dagger and eiko(??), and amarant and freya. I never used amarant, freya, eiko, or quina, so it was kinda hard beating one of the bosses at one of the shrines with amarant and freya.
the hell? you only fought a boss with Zidane and Quina only, and you did nothing with the other characters  i was dissapointed with that part.

my Eiko was level 35 when i fought the last boss, whereas Zidane was lvl 89 :)

Well, Penance wasn't in the American release of X, but I have a friend who's obsessed with getting non-american versions of releases, and he beat Penance without Zanmato. Took him over an hour to finally take down all 12 million HP.

As for Ozma, I've beaten him/her/it.

Ozma can suck my left nut. I hated that battle. :thumb:

The path to Ultima weapon in FF8 was VERY VERY difficult when your levels were high. Those Ruby Dragons used to use Breathe on you and completely obliterate you. On top of that, no save points, you had to get really lucky and have Odin save you. :thumb:

Shadows
08-06-2005, 10:40 PM
I guess that would be very possible, since bosses don't give experience.

I never understood that. Even since FFVIII boss battles never gave your party any experience. What the hell?

DeusExMachina
08-06-2005, 10:41 PM
They didn't give experience in VIII or IX, but you got experience for killing bosses in X. Or the equivalent of experience, at any rate.

Shadows
08-06-2005, 10:58 PM
I hated the 'no experience for bosses' thing. It made no sense. I loved in VII where winning a boss battle would give tons of experience and usually a cool item (ie, WEAPON).

Don't you need to use the Limit Break a certain amount of times and then it levels up?

theres two limit moves for one limit level.

you can get the second move of the limit level you're on by killing a certain number of enemies.

you can level up your limit level by using the limit moves of the level before, but you'll need to have both limit moves of the previois level. ie. you cant level up your limit without having both moves.

I keep trying to do Cid's blue tester mission, but too many goblins aggro, and im not finding a team too well. Ill probably spend the rest of the day trying to get up to the high parts of lvl 8.

Probably, lots of springs around, but I dont have a map for that place, and negotiating it while avoiding goblin mobs is tricky.

Another thing im finding is the distinct lack of BLM equipment around, most of Bastok shops dont sell any.

Normally it alternates, use the limit a certain times to get the next limit then after that kill a certain number of enemies to unlock the next and that repeats over and over until limit 3:2.

Shadows
08-07-2005, 11:08 AM
To unlock the second limit of a level: Use the first one of that level a certain number of times. The number varies depending on what character and what limit.

To unlock the first limit of the next level: kill a certain number of enemies. Once again, that number depends on the character and the limit. It can be as low as 60 for characters like Aeris, but can be as high as 200 for Cloud.

I'ved played through FFVI at least once every year (sometimes up to 4 or 5 times in a year) since I first played it, when I was six. This year, however, I haven't played it yet. So, that's somewhere between 20 and 40 times, I honestly can't tell you for sure.

awsome, i pretty much do the same thing, also with VIII and sometimes IV. However, the last time i tired to play through VIII my PSone kept stopping on the third disc, like, it would start to load a new area and nothing would happen, the music would still be on and sometimes the area would eventually come up, but it was too much of a hassle. I doubt its the disc though, i mean, there are very few scratches (maybe one of them is 'fatal'), so i'm thinking its the lens, though this has never happend before.

besides, VII owns VIII in every way, so until i figure out why VIII won't work, i guess i'll play through VII again

Is it good? Yes it is very good.

As good as Chrono Trigger? arguably, no, but the soundtrack is one of the best.

And yes, there is a game that came before Cross and after Trigger, its called Radical Dreamers. Text adventure game. You can probably find a translated rom of it for ZSNES.

But yeah, the battle format is way different than Triggers. I liked Trigger's a lot better. :thumb:

no, new chars but same format and gameplay

and the new chars are pretty much the same personality wise
youve got a girl named "Kid" that you frequently rescue who looks EXACTLY like marle...
There are 44 characters in that game that you can get, but it takes at least 3 play throughs (maybe 4) to be able to get all of them, because there are sections where you have to pick between different characters.

Also, Kid may look like Marle, but wait until you figure out the actual story behind her. It is quite the plot twist. I found it very satisfying, it answered a question I'd had for a long time.

My Ramza is either a monk with guts, or a Squire with punch art, depending on what the situation calls for.

Yeah. Its actually like a modification of Sabin's blitz.

The Controller I bought for My computer, the control pad sucks, so whenever i type in the arrows for sabins blitz, It never works :upset:. One of the many reasons why i want to get FF anthology.

You're getting relatively close. Not super close, but not too far.

That fight took me forever, but when I finally beat it, I did it in one turn. I had two swords, and did 999 damage with both hits.

I would say he's super close. He has hardly anything left to do - unless he chooses to do the side quests, which would increase the game length considerably.

Well, I just finished Dycedarg recently, and haven't played since. So, I don't really remember how much is left in the game, but I recall it being somewhat longer.

You could get the final Zodiac Stone, which, along the way, would give you cool characters like Beowulf, Worker 8, and Reise.

And then of course the biggest one of all - the Deep Dungeon.

FlyingPaul_83
08-09-2005, 03:58 PM
I have all those characters

what is the deep dungeon?

DeusExMachina
08-09-2005, 04:22 PM
The deep dungeon is a rather difficult dungeon. Go to... I want to say warjilas trade city, but not positive. There, you'll automatically see a scene with people talking about it. Then, the path will appear to the deep dungeon. It's pitch black, so you see no scenery, just your party and the enemies. Also, you need to to find exits to the next floor, which are located on specific squares which are decided randomly. If you don't get to an exit before killing all the enemies, you have to start that battle all over. You can get some really good equipment there, plus get the 13th zodiac stone and learn Zodiac, the best summon in the game.

it needs a video plugin?
what's that??

I can't work this bloody thing...
can people help??

anyway I liked VIII's map the best...it was more realistic with the trains and so, it also had some of the most beautiful locations on a FF game... Winhill springs to mind...

oh question
out of all the towns on FF games, where would you most like to live and why?

infinate_ammo

Thats is a tricky question, there are so many cool places to live in FF games.

Yeah, the trains were a nice touch. But I think the locations and stuff in VII were better. There were more geographical stuffs, and more hidden places.

I'd live in Esthar, Deling City, Cosmo Canyon, Dagguero, or Treno. They just struck me as the coolest. Esthar was futuristic and huge, Deling seems like a neat place with interesting people, Cosmo Canyon had an awesome landscape, and the other two same as Deling.

Daguerro and Winhill are mine, probably Dali and Mideel aswell, I really like the places where there seems to be peace and tranquility on a final fantasy game...relaxing

Midgar was IMO one of the coolest parts of the game, but I wouldn't live there. Unless it was the Wall Market area. Actually, I'd live in the slums if Tifa was there :naughty:

Speaking of 7, a buddy of mine just got it for me again, as he lost the disc I was on when I let him borrow it. So far I've gotten to Cosmo Canyon, it's easily one of my favorite games.

/Will be playing it within two hours.

I'd live in Dollet, or the Garden floating in the ocean(it seems so peaceful there). Esthar would be pretty cool, as would Fisherman's Horizon. Now that I think about it, I think that FF8 had the best town/city designs in any FF. :thumb:

Midgar was a pretty cool place. I'd also like to see what Narshe and Vector look like, as well as Figaro Castle.

Besaid Island too. :thumb:

The thing about SNES game towns is that they don't have nearly the character or the size of the newer games' towns. One downside to FFVI.

I was playing it again before and I made it to the part where you infiltrate the empire base near doma castle. and when cyan enters "a moment sir!"

*door opens, queue Cyan's music*

You might have some luck but the best place to buy it would be online. You could always try a second hand game store though.
