Some tips:

1. DON'T, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD sell your stacks of crystals to NPC's. You can sell a stack of crystals for at least 1,500 gil at the Auction House.

2. Always check a monster. Defenitely know your limits. Not many jobs can take an Even Match.

3. Since you're a Black Mage, keep your scrolls up to date.

4. Also, when in a party, don't attack like crazy. If you cast too many spells, the monster will be drawn to you instead of fighting the Tank, who should be the main focus of damage. tone the casting down a bit, but don';t stop completely.

5. Learn what foods do what. For mages, your best bet are Juices and Cookies for managing MP.

For more help, check out http://ffxi.allakhazam.com but don't bother with the forums unless you read the guides. The people there are morons that go trigger happy with their "Rate System."

i can never complete Secrets of mana on emulator. you just cant move the same way on the keyboard.

i dont like it whenever i press the 'load state' button on an emlator - it feels just as bad as using an action replay code. especially on ff4 before Zeromus.
I never use save state or load state. They just ruin the gaming experience, in my opinion. I know I've mentioned it many times, but the Ancient Cave in Lufia II loses so much of it's awesomeness if you use save states.

You can't get Cloud until chapter 4. Chapter 4 is by far the longest chapter, and probably the most interesting one.

A score of under 20? Interesting. I'd imagine that wouldn't be too difficult though. Just don't get any flowers, and get as few red coins as possible.

shadow will survive if youve done that.

feed only the fast-moving fish to Cid, since they recover his health. dont feed him the slow fishes, and dont take a lot of time, and he'll recover.

i just looked at the R + M poll, and Tool has around 40% of the votes...

If I'm not mistaken, some of the fish are bad for his health, some are good. I believe Red Barchetta is right about slow fish being bad, and fast fish being good. But, you don't have to save him. My first time playing through the game, Cid died on me.

when ever I downloaded the songs, they would go to my temporary folder. Where are temp folders usually in your computer?

I remember that was the first game I ever saved up my money to buy on my own. That was back in like 92 or so. I remember when I got to Turtle Rock temple, I couldn't figure out how to beat the twin dragon boss thing(ice and fire heads) so I cried myself to sleep. I woke up and pwned it. :thumb: I also remember the day I beat the game, Charles In Charge was on. :thumb:

no news on the third yet, unfortunately. but for advent children, black mages did 'one winged angel', which you can hear in the background of the trailer, so that might be on the new album. or hopefully, there will be an advent children soundtrack released and it will be on there.

haha, for some reason when I was little, in the Light world, the mountain temple where you fight the caterpillar boss at the end. I could beat that guy so easily as a kid, but now I try to fight him and I get knocked into the pit. :lol: I guess as my understanding of videogames improved, my technical ability to play them decreased. :lol:

And I couldnt pronounce Sahashrala or whatever the elders name was. What am I saying, I still dont know how to pronounce it, or spell it. :thumb:

It takes awhile to save him. I think normally he's supposed to die, but if you're awesome he'll live.

I remember being stuck in the 7th temple in the dark world in Link to the Past for the longest time, and not knowing how to get past it. It was incredibly frustrating.

And to whoever asked, FFTA sucks. It's really really stupid. At least, I think it is. Some people like it, but I thought it was just awful.

Additional promotional trailers could be seen in other areas of Square Enix Party 2005 as well. A new trailer for Final Fantasy XII was presented at the show, and it featured a look at some new scenes of the game, including what is apparently the main character Vaan and the heroine Ashe's first encounter. Noticing that a lady surrounded by soldiers was being cornered to the end of a small cliff, Vaan shouts from below to jump. As Ashe leaps into Vaan's hands, he realizes that it's the former princess of the Dalmasca kingdom. In another scene, a slightly hairier Basche was seen chained, apparently for slaying the king of Dalmasca for whom he previously fought as a solider. A number of new scenes also showed a small, dark-haired boy together with the main characters, suggesting that he will have a key role in the game. The game's trailer ended with the display of its release date: March 16, 2006.

Square Enix announced today that its forthcoming computer-animated movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will be hitting theaters in Japan before its release on DVD. The company revealed at its Square Enix Party that the movie will be making it premiere in Japan on September 8 and will then officially open in the country's theaters on September 10. The DVD and UMD release will follow four days later on September 14.

And DeusEx, when you die in FFXI you loose expereince points, according to how much you have total(I think, it's either that or how many you need to level..), and either you can get a raise from a level 25+ whm, or go back to your homepoint. Unfortunatly, there are no fenix(FFVI represent) downs in this game ; ;

If my memory of photoshop training serves correctly...

You'll have to break down the animation. Resize each individual frame and then remake the sequence. You'llhave to set it up as a slideshow after you do all that. I don't think you'll be able to do that in any ordinary paint program.

Well, if you want to get technical, white mages can't bring you back to life. They can merely bring you back from being seriously wounded or unconscious, which is what having 0 hp is. That's why you couldn't just revive Aeris. So, the MMORPG should be set up so that if you die once, you can never play that character ever again.

Yes. Kefka on the other hand, VERY evil, and for an actual reason, unlike most other RPG's. Also succeeded which is why I think that Kefka > any other FF villain. :thumb:

I just got FFX-2 I'm up to Besaid. Please tell me it gets better than this?

You find Shadow in the cave where Relm would be if you didn't save Shadow. Then he runs away, but if you bet a certain weapon in the Colliseum (the dirk, I think) than Shadow is the person you fight, and he's hella weak because he has no equipment, so you pwn him, and then he joins the party. Relm will then be found with Strago, if I'm not mistaken.

I would play other games if you already replayed FFVII recently.

There will be a time where its impossible to soon. Black mages take like, 4 hits off a tough enemy and go down. Thankfully, my tank friend is back off hols in a week, so ill bug him for some quest related parties.

5 different story lines, each take a long long long time to accomplish. I'm on WM(windurst mission)7-1, CoP(chains of promethia)2-5, ZM(Rise of the Zilart)14, BM1, SM1. There are 10 WM, and I think 17 ZM, and 9 CoP.

And by the way, this is with 89 days of gameplay, which adds up too... 2136 hours of gameplay. And you thought getting all jobs to 99 in any FF took a long time :p

As for after that, I think, unlike other FF games, you dont play the storyline in a linear, one person fashion. You play to help your nation, increase its borders, and work with other people who are based in the same territory as you.

But im still nowhere as far as the game goes. Heck, I only reached my first non city area today, and that was only an outpost

Sadly those things will happen, but you should solo till level 10, then head to Valkurm Dunes (ask any high level player and they will curse the dunes).

Oh yeah, Gobbies ALWAYS link, no matter what. They aggro on sight as well even. But eventually, you'll be taking down 10 gobbies at a time if the need arises. :thumb:

Ehrgeiz was a fighting game with FFVII characters. You could play as Cloud, Zach, Sephiroth, Tifa, Vincent, or Yuffie, maybe a couple others too. Plus, there were a bunch of other characters, and one of the bosses was like a silver version of Red XIII. Anywho, yeah, the graphics were quite impressive, and it was fun being able to have FFVII characters beat each other up in real time.

Red Barchetta, I agree. The fighting was simplistic. I mostly enjoyed it just to beat up Final Fantasy characters, and the story mode was kind of interesting.

Edit: It was for the ps1. The gameplay was meh. It's not a particularly spectacular game, but it's fun. I enjoyed it, at any rate.

I know Auron is in KH2. Other than that, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure there will be more. They need old school characters though. Like from the 16-bit era.

I've also heard rumors that characters from the Dragon Quest series will appear in KH2.

Yeah I was into Magic when I was in the USA... came back to England and nobody had heard of it, so I stopped pretty quickly. Tried to teach my mum how to play it but she was never that enthusiastic and I had to keep explaining the rules to her.

On-topic: I just got to Cosmo Canyon on FF7. Bugenhagen's "apparatus" with the solar system hologram is so cool.

The sealed cave beneath the canyon is also great. Powerful monsters so EXP is plentiful. Don't forget to pick up the Added Effect materia.

yeah I'm not good at using all of my characters, I usually just choose 3 and never use the other ones. That's why I was really screwed in IX when you had to split up. That was really hard because One of the groups had 2 characters that I never used.

Using ony 3 characters in FFVII was okay though because even those not in your party levelled up. It was the later games that you were really screwed in if you only used the same people.

yeah that what I do, but in IX, it splits up the characters for you. I think it was zidane and quina, steiner and vivi, dagger and eiko(??), and amarant and freya. I never used amarant, freya, eiko, or quina, so it was kinda hard beating one of the bosses at one of the shrines with amarant and freya.

Its the place you go right after Kalm, you catch the Chocobo to get across the marsh and go in and fight the Turks.

Mythril mines is the best place to get your limits, especially if you have enemy skill 'matra magic'. you encounter a lot of enemies in just one battle, and matra magic can kill them all in one shot.

You have to use Cait sith and Barrett for like 5 minutes during the execution bit where you're supposed to rescue Tifa. Just to be picky.
