With relics I pretty much only use Running Shoes, Genji Gloves, and Black Belts, maybe Earrings or Hero Ring or Atlas Armor if I have an open spot.

it reduces the number of random battles. but later on in the game, you can get a relic for mog which is much better... ;)

FF3/6 is so amazing. It's the only game with a phantom train/ship/whatever type thing where I didn't totally despise the phantom whatever.

Edit: The more HP you have, the more powerful the Atma weapon is.

i never beat VI... i got to Kefka's tower, and just kind of lost heart, because some of my characters levels were so f*cking low. i tried to level up, but i've just lost patience... and now the disc no longer works, so i'm gonna start over on a ROM.

Kefka's tower is pretty tough though, you need to build levels a good amount before.

Cyan's Swordtech's and Sabin's Blitz's were among the coolest features in the game. All the different music was awesome, too. :thumb:

Pretty much just hit the command and a little gauge will load. the numbers in white are the attacks you can use. depending on what number you stop the gauge at, hell unleash a different attack. Level 4 attack, Quadra Slam is so awesome. He also has Quadra Slice which is like level 8. :thumb:

Are you sure the numbers are white and not grey. if they are grey, they dont work. probably when you get cyan, only levels 1-3 are available. :thumb:

My preferred party is Cyan, Edgar, Sabin, Shadow(when hes available)/Terra/Mog/Setzer. The 4th member is usually a toss up, usually Terra or Mog. :thumb:

I don't use Setzer at all, Mog pwns though. I'll use Terra or Celes, whoever's available. Gotta have a magic user. Then Cyan and Sabin are my main firepower. I don't use Edgar mainly because I don't know where the tool shop in Figaro is lol. Shadow is cool when available too... and Locke I'll use when I need, but he's actually pretty good. I'll give him a Genji Glove and Black Belt with Thief Knife and whatever his best other weapon is, and usually end up stealing from everyone.

Yeah but you have to have 3 people in your party before kefka moves the statues on the floating continent. If you "wait" for shadow to come, then he comes, but if you have 4 people in your party he wont come. :thumb:

Anyways, if you wait for him on the floating continent, when you get to the World of Ruin and the party is all split up, you can find him. He's quite good.

Does anyone go to www.ffonline.com ever? If so, did you see the list of the top 10 final fantasy characters, or the top 25 square games of all time? What'd you think of them. I thought the top 10 final fantasy characters list was really good, definitely had some of my favorites, and avoided crowd pleasing cliches (cough SEPHIROTH cough). The number one slot was kind of a shocker though. I'll see if I can find the list.

I was running back to Sandoria today to change my job and level in Valkurm and while going through West Ronfaure I check for Jaggedy-Eared Jack like I always do. Hot damn, he was actually there. Claim, kill, no drop... :upset: . Someone told me the likelyhood of getting the Rabbit Charm goes up when you're a lower level. Can anyone validate this?

See when I used to have my full 4 party, I used to get PISSED because shadow never came, and I couldnt figure out why. Then I remember I woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink, and it just clicked in my head for no reason. So instead of reforming to 4 members, I left a slot open. Yeah, 7 made it cool to play video games. Before then, I got beat up for playing video games...

Anywho, the way I figure it is you can divide RPG gamers into two categories: Old school gamers, who have been playing a long time, (like, around 10 or more years) and new age gamers, who haven't been playing that long. Almost down the board, you can point to FF6 as being the favorite of old school gamers, and FF7 being the favorite of new age gamers.

Sorry, my mistake. Dwelling of Duels. It's a website with monthly competitions where people anonymously do covers of video game songs, which get voted on at the end of the month. Each month is themed in a 3 month system. Like, the first month will be a series (like FF or Metroid) or a company (like Konami). Second month is a type of game (ninja games or something). The third month is a free month. Then, who wrote what is revealed, and all the songs are available to download. Here's the link.

Actually you can get them way earlier on. I forgot where, but if you card battle some REALLY early in the game opponents in Balamb Garden I think, you can actually win elnoyle cards which can be converted to pulse ammo.(if i remember correctly). :thumb:

For the Blitz Ace, I forgot how it works, its pretty much whoever "likes" tidus the most. I think it has to do with party placement/usage and dialog choices.

Theres a hidden meter in the game that determines who likes you and who doesnt. Basically, whoever likes you most will toss the ball. This is determined based on who you take damage for/keep in parties most often, stuff like that.

yep, the lionheart. and for 'end of heart', the best attack in the game.

i always use fast ammos for Irvine, because its much better than any other ammo after the enemy has been meltdown'd

It's hard to explain since its been so long...

First, make sure you have important commands like Item, Junction, Magic, and Ressurection activated. It helps if you do have them all activated.

Next, decide on your candidates. My party consisted of Squall, Zell, and Rinoa. Why Rinoa and not Irvine you ask? I'll cover that later.

Now, Junction your characters as best as possible. But try to keep them at lvl 99 and not at 100, reason being, Omega opens up with Lvl 5 Death, which would kill your entire party if they are all lvl 100. This is the important part. Junction everything you can onto Rinoa, but leave Meteor UNJUNCTIONED. Leave any spare unjuctioned magic on other characters. This is important.

The reason I use Zell is for his limit break, Duel. If you can memorize the button combinations, you should be able to pull of 3-4 hits within a second. I don't remember what they were, but I think the O+X attack linked with the Up+Down attack, thefore,creating a loop. I managed to score 25000 each time I used Duel. Just keep Aura up and max out his strength.

Squall, no brainer. Just keep doing his limi break and hope for Lionheart to fire off.

Now Rinoa. Contrary to popular belief, her Angel Wing limit isn't useless and can be one of the most powerful limits in the game. Angel Wing also does not just cast random magic. If you leave Meteor unjunctioned, she will cast that almost 90% of the time. Maxing out her Magic will guarantee about 2000 per hit, coupled with multiple hits from the attack.

Now, junction certain commands to each character. Here was my setup as best as I can remember:

Attack
Defend
Magic

Rinoa
Attack
Magic
Recover
Item

Now for the fight...

In order to unlock Omega, you must first take your other 3 people that you aren't using and have them pull the rope in the room with the large bell above.
Your main party should be at the switch point outside in front of the fountain.
Pull the rope, and switch to the other party. Run into the Chapel, and Omega will be there ready to rip you to shreds.

OMEGA

First of, make sure you run a test run, and see how far you can get. His attacks are in a certain order, so memorize it.

Level 5 Death (always opens up with this, counter with a Pheonix Down, not Revive)
Light Pillar (9999 damage to single opponent)
Terra Break (multiple high damage attack to your entire party, almost impossible to survive without Hero or having Defend up)
Megido Flame (does 9998 damage, thats why you always keep your HP up)
Ultima
Physical Attack

The order of the attacks is beyond me, I don't remember it anymore. First things first, cast Triple on everyone. Revive Squall using a Phenoix Down (to make his Limit Break active) and have someone cast a Triple-Aura, then Triple-Haste. Use a Holy War (Refined from Gilgamesh card [10x], makes entire party Invincible). Now, everyone should have their Limit Break up, so use it. In case anything happens, use Squall's Defend to protect yourself from Terra Break. Then use a Pheonix Pinion to revive Zell and Rinoa. Keep Aura, Haste, and Invincible up AT ALL TIMES. And throw in a Meltdown on Omega for 0 Vitality.

Recommended Items

Megalixir x99 (Not entirely necessary)
Pheonix Pinion x10
Holy War x10
Pheonix Down x99 (although 20 should suffice)

Remember, just keep at it and he should go down in about 30 mins. since he has well over a million HP. This fight takes alot of luck and is more for pride than anything. When you win you walk away with a 3 Stars and Proof of Omega, your certificate of Bad-Assery.

In Ultimecias castle, make one of your groups run to the hanging rope this rings a bell, should be on the right hand side of the castle somewhere, make them ring it.

There should be a green circle thing nearby you can change to your other group, have them outside the church beside the fountain bit beforehand beside the purple/blue cloud, he should be there.

cast regen on rinoa... and kill Adel fast...? that's about it really, but cast regen on rinoa, that should help a bit... i think shell or protect, i don't remember which will help.

Just keep curing her when her hp gets low, and attack Adel with your strongest attacks/magic/limit breaks, i wouldnt use summons as they would kill Rinoa, i think they would anyway.

cast shell and regen on Rinoa so that she recovers as well as reducing damage from Adel's Drain. you might also want to cast protect on her, then have someone use mug for 8 megalixirs, but you can get 100 from the bahamut card.

try and steal a Samanther Soul from Adel before killing her. just use meltdown to lower her physical defence to 0, then use physical attacks. when she starts counting down from 5, she uses ultima at '0', so make sure you're high on HP.

To make the battle a good deal easier, say you don't want to help Mustadio. The battle will go exactly the same, and the results of the battle will be exactly the same, except that if Mustadio dies, you don't lose.

IF you were cruising the internet through the week of E3, you probalby read abot SE's hot to trot FFVII tech demo, which was shown during Sony's preshow press conference to help convey the power of the PS3. Unfortunatly, you probably also read how Square's president denied that the footage meant a remake of its colossal PS1 role-playing game was in teh works. Put away the kleenex, people; we have it on very very(notice the double verys) good authority that the compnay is indeed brinign a visually updated version of FFVII to PS3. Any other details? Well, Aerith stilld ies in this versoin, so maybe you should keep those tissues within arms reach.

Well, they'd lose a lot of money if they remade all of them for the ps3. However, FF7 would be very awesome if remade, considering how shoddy the graphics were. I mean, they had amazing potential for the graphics, but in all honesty the in-game graphics were pretty crappy.

I'd love to see FF6 given the ps3 treatment. Some people say it wouldn't work, since it was made as a pixel game and should remain as such, but I think that, if done well, it could make the greatest game ever even better.

As for getting the ps2, I literally got mine only 3 or 4 months ago.

Now I understand that this was originally supposed to be some kind of secret, maybe something to do with Aeris :confused: , and I think they left it in the Japanese version, but omitted it from the American and PAL versions.

I think so , yeah it probably is fake, but still, I've always wondered what the point of that man was. It seemed really pointless, sort of like a glitch in the game.

There is a mistake in the dialouge at that part too, when Aries explains about the sick guy to Cloud she says "This guy are sick" instead of what was probably meant to be "This guy is sick"...Just somthing I noticed

Yeah the FF12 storyline seems like its gonna rock, but the main character looking like a 14 year old girl and the no turn based battles REALLY put me off. :upset:

You can have a character ride one. With yellow, they have a farther range and jump than humans, purple/black ones can fly.

Jobs. You send some characters out to do them for a couple days, come back, and they give you a report on it. I only did them when there were 2 towns next to each other, so I could rush the jobs without battles.

Ive only had an all party death once and id say ive got him down to about 3 quaters of his health.
cloud has a mastered Knights of the round, and yuffie has a level 2.
all characters have mime, and yuffie and cait sith are pairerd with final attack and pheonix. no close calls yet. wish me luck!!!

I would LOVE another Chrono game. They could never top Chrono Trigger, which I think is the best RPG ever made, but it'd be great just to see another.

Hell yeah man. I heard a rumor it got pushed to sept 30th, but I'm not sure. But this fall and holiday season are gonna be awesome. Advent Children, Fire Emblem GC, and Zelda(dont care about xbox 360). :thumb:

Chocobos are useless in FFT except for as sheep to draw attacks away from Ramza. At least, that's true in my game.

I kind of like the idea of non-turn based battle. More of the Kingdom Hearts style. Maybe not for a FF game necessarily, but in general I like that battle system.

Oh yes. I've been waiting for a 3D fire emblem game for ages. have you seen any of the CG movies? it looks great! I hope the FE franchise continues to come stateside. I played the GBA FE its pretty good. I never really got into the other FE's because I cant read japanese. :thumb:
