Ive got No-Cash in the post at the mo, getting INDK 'Kill Whitey' soon, suppose your all going to tell me I should have gotten INDK first.

Does anyone notice and apreciate the Bill Hicks influence on Leftover Crack??

I think INDK are the worst of the CRS7. Choking Victim/Leftover Crack and Morning Glory are the best ones.

Life is pain seems like those lyrics were written by Bill Hicks, and the whole hatred towards most people. I think the only disagreement is Bill Hicks not being an athiest. If I ever met them, I'd ask.

AIRIC

With what part?

Liebensaft
01-20-2006, 02:08 PM
The best album part. And maybe the direct ripoff part. There's a lot of bands that make ska-core music.

AIRIC
01-20-2006, 02:09 PM
As far as ska-core goes, No Gods, No Managers > FWT and MG. FWT and MG aren't even really ska-core albums. I would agree with No-Ca$h being a direct ripoff for sure.

Liebensaft
01-20-2006, 02:10 PM
No Cash, No Managers is better than anything Leftover Crack's made for sure. And yeah, Leftover Crack isn't really ska-core, but that's still a general term used to classify them, and there's a lot of other bands who make the same type of music.

AIRIC
01-20-2006, 02:13 PM
Not that close though. It is pretty much Ezra in No-Ca$h.

I agree. No Gods is much more entertaining than Mediocre Generica and after a couple listens, a lot more entertaining than FWT which gets kind of boring.

And neither are ska-core. Ska-core is ska with hardcore breakdowns, which so far the only band I've found with that were Folly and I disliked them.

This is copied straight from a book, aimed at teenagers.

A squatter is somone who enters and occupies land, or any part of a building without the owners permission. SQUATTING IS NOT A CRIME, but squatters may commit an offence if they cause damage when getting into the property or to the contents, or by using gas or electricity without first making the proper arrangements.
If squatters leave a place empty, the owner can break in and take possession, but commits an offence if force is used while the squatters are still inside. An owner or tenant who intends to move in imediately and use the property as a place of residence, may use reasonable force to get the squatter to leave, but normally requires a written statement or certificate showing that the property is needed as a home. In this situation the squaater commits an offence by refusing to leave.
Squaters can also be evicted from a property through the issue of a possession orderby a court. There are a number of different types of order but, in some circumstances , squatters may have 24 hours to leave and may not return to the property within the next 12 months.
This is up to date.

I always hear a whole lot about LoC (big fan by the way) but Ive never really met someone who cares about other CRS7 bands like INDK. INDK is easily my favorite band. All the people saying they like CV better should check these guys out. They kept most of the ska sound from CV but the vocals are a bit different. Its a bit more melodic, but its just as cracked as ever. Im also getting ****ing pissed cuz I cant find any morning glory songs or cds. What the hell is wrong with people these days? No one recognizes good music anymore. All I have to say is **** yea for subhumans, born/dead, and world/inferno friendship society coming to portland march 27th. What a ****ing line-up!

I'd say Morning Glory is one of the more interesting CRS bands, at least in some of the songs they have good guitar parts and pretty decent quality recording, it makes a nice listen. Divide By, Tolerate, and Extraordinary for instance. I prefer LoC, but that's for more sentimental reasons.

Sorry for the bump, but i've only just heard leftover crack and choking victim recently when i bought give em the boot's I-IV. I really like the Choking victim songs on them (Infested and Crack Rock Steady), especially Crack Rock Steady, and i was wondering if all of their songs sound similar to these ones, or whether they just put those songs on compilations because they are the most first-time-listenable songs (if you know what i mean). And, if i like these songs, which album would you think i would like best?

You won't find another song like Crack Rock Steady in any album, but it's easy to recommend albums as Choking Victim only have No Gods/No Managers and Leftover Crack have both Mediocre Generica and F'uck World Trade. The first is rougher, and the vocals are more listenable than the second but personally I preffer FWT. The music in there is awesome.

Thanks man, ill probably go for mediocre generica though, because i really dont tend to go for harsh vocals. What would you describe No Gods/No Managers as being like? And are the two bands pretty indestinguishable by sound?

albert_bass
02-25-2006, 05:33 AM
Both albums have harsh vocals, in fact, all crack rock steady bands have harsh vocals. The only song without them might be Crack Rock Steady.

I didn't like the vocals at first but the music is so good that they grew on me. And about the sound. Choking Victim are more on the ska-punk side and LoC are on the ska-hardcore side, but both bands are a great mix of ska punk and hardcore.

I didnt mind Infested and Athiest Anthem, so i guess the vocals dont grate on me too bad, I do really like the music though, because both bands seem to play with heaps of energy, but then have the funky ska bits too, i guess ill just have to check it ALL out more, lol. Cheers mate :thumb:

And this is pretty fu'cking funny/sick/stupid:

I'm not at liberty to disclose most of the details an I was blacked-out drunk, so I am not a reliable witness to the event, but in bits and pieces the night comes back to me...

this is what non-drunk witness Bill Cashman has written on the subject:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

for the lazy....

"Yes, singer of LOC stabbed singer of WIFS w/ a machete

for those e-mailing me -- yes..that did happen.. .. but it was a total accident....and a really drunken one at that (on both their parts). After one of the first shows they were kind of stumbling around the parking lot wasted on the usual (booze & pills) and were kind of fake dueling with the 2 machetes sturgeon brings on tour (yes, he's brought machetes on tour). One thing kind of led to another & jack got gutted....thought he was going to be OK but he ended up heading to the hospital & losing an appendix , of all things! (do you even need an appendix??) So wifs has to cancel a few dates...hopefully we'll see them back in the mid-west!"

I've been told that World/Inferno may miss all dates up to seattle, depending on Jack's recovery for more info on that check their website worldinferno.com

As for us...the crack, we have been having a fun tour with Mischeif brew, Intro5ect and all the other bands that have joined us, we intend to play every date on our showlist, unless further posted.

play safe kids,

Just so you know, at punk shows, you great everyone with a slightly squeeze of the buttocks and a quick wink, unless they're a bouncer or security, in which case you punch them in the crotch and tell them their mother was a whore.

They came to town earlier in the month, and I was gonna go. I was so terrified, I'd get stabbed with a needle, or forced to toke a crack pipe, or sacrificed to satan, or called a consumer. Or something.

I ended up not going, because the kid who was giving me a ride didn't want to cancel his work that night.

It's a bit ironic that he willingly went to work instead of a LoC show.

Do they call it toking when you smoke crack? They can't. And does a rock only last for one "hit?" These are things I've wondered, but don't have any crack-smoking acquaintances to ask.
