basically, when your feeling a bit bummed, what song do you throw on, and not help but feel happier by the end of it?
for me its "ghost love score" by nightwish... it never fails. (but then again, the song is 10 minutes long so the chancesa re youd be calmer by the end of it anyway :P)

Layla tends to help me out of a bad mood, at least to being mellow and alright. For some reason, Coheed and Cambria's "A Favor House Atlantic" is good one, as well as "Paradise City" and "Summertime Blues". Older bands, such as the Beatles and Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry are really good, too. A great thing for when I'm in a funk is upbeat DMB jams, like "Lie in Our Graves", "Drive In Drive Out", "What Would You Say?", "So Much to Say", "Jimi Thing", "Stay (Wasting Time)", and "Rapunzel". These and others are great for the purpose.

All I ever have to do is listen to Mellow Mood and Cally-Man by Slightly Stoopid and no matter how bad I feel, I always feel better. Heck, most anything by Slightly Stoopid, Long Beach Dub All-stars, Long Beach Shortbus or Led Zeppelin make me feel better. Ahh, the power of music, aint it great!

That new and unreleased U2 song, Vertigo, has a way of not being a sad song at all. I kinda like it.

Gah! I had another one, and now I forget.

Well I wonder what its like to be the rain maker. I wonder what its like to know that I made the rain. I'd store it in boxes with little yellow tags on every one. And you can come and see them when I'm done, when I'm done. I wonder what its like to be a super hero. I wonder where I'd go if I could fly around down town, yeah.
