gaslight kinda suggested this, so I'm gonna start it.

I use Soulseek. My name on soulseek is The Big Sleep. I have around 1800 files shared from numerous bands, but these are the bands that I have an extensive range of songs/albums which you can d/l from me if you are nice.

Bands that I specialise in:

Hot Snakes
mclusky
Roky Erickson
Murder City Devils
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Blood Brothers
Fiery Furnaces
The Unicorns
These Arms Are Snakes

I have around 7-8 Queens of The Stone Age songs which you can get - they are rarities, covers, b-sides and live versions. (I also have around 25 live videos you can get)

Enjoy your stay at Casa de Tangy.

Nice.

If anybody wants some stuff from Soulseek from me, feel free - but you have to ask me first. Not because of politeness or anything, because I need to upload the damn thing before you can download it!!!

My Soulseek is........

Iai.

Original, huh.

ok... my username is GougeAway

My upload speed isn't great. I usually have it turned way down on soulseek too, because um... I'm greedy. But if you let me know that you're from MX (I think you can send messages on soulseek), I'll turn it up faster. But even then it won't get much better than maybe 10kbps. My upload speed just sucks for some reason.

Anyway, I don't have any full albums on here, but I've got a heap of MP3s from a heap of good artists. If I talk about somebody on here, then I probably have some of their best songs on there.

My specialties include:

Faith No More
The Pixies
The Cure
The Smiths
Jane's Addiction
Jeff Buckley
Nick Cave
Radiohead
Mike Patton related stuff

My process:

* Put in hard drive and copy.
* Convert to mp3.
* Share over soulseek.

Like that?

The process is called ripping. That's why all mp3s exist in the first place: because someone ripped them from a CD. You do this by using a program like iTunes or MusicMatchJukeBox.

Next to the list of the files being uploaded, where it says "Max U/L KBPS", you can put whatever number you want in there.

But other than that, I dunno. I'm on ADSL too, but my upload is never as fast as my download speed.

Tomayasua Hotei - Battle Without Honour or Humanity

That's just the more alt/indie-ish stuff, I've left out most of the rock/metal.

The important bit, though, is that since I've moved and everything, I had to get a new Soulseek name. Bartender was still already taken, and I wasn't feeling imaginative, so it's Soultender.

Yeah, I put that number really high, but still the speed does not change?

Well the download speed would still be limited if they have a bad connection, or a limit set on their speed. Maybe it's just their fault.

My soulseek username is xizoesira.

I have all sorts of stuff. Mostly metal and rock but I have some indie things here and there, too.

PM me if you want something, but I might not be around - I'm usually signed onto soulseek unless I'm running a bit torrent, so half the time I'm not actually present, but if I am I'll bump you up in the queue.

How do we download albums offa people? I need to know.

You add them to your user list (at the right hand side of the Soulseek window), then right click their name when they're online and select Browse Files. Should bring up a window in their name and, if you're lucky, you'll be able to look through whatever they're sharing.

I just downloaded Soulseek and my username is the same as my MX name. I've got pretty much the standard Alt/indie/rock band list: Radiohead, Tool, Bjork, Cursive, Bright Eyes, Primus, etc.

Plus I have lots of hip-hop: Aesop Rock, Sage Francy Pants, Atmosphere, Buck 65, Saul Williams, Immortal Technique, Josh Martinez, J-live, Eyedea & Abilities, Sixtoo, Living Legends, Non-Prophets, etc.

And I got some good electronica: Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Moby, Thievery Corp., Dntel, Greyboy, Gotan Project, Chemical Bros., Crystal Method, Boozoo Bajou, Dj Shadow, etc.

I live on the west coast of the US and I have a nice broadband connection, so anyone that lives somewhat nearby and has a nice connection & collection should hit me up. I'll attempt to trade with anyone, just haven't had any luck so far. I can do the aim or msn thing too.
