I'd give it a 10/10
For any Ozzy/Sabbath fan, it's perfect. It has all their studio albums and a bonus DVD. It also is a lot cheaper than buying all the albums seperate. The case for it is also really cool, and it comes with a really cool book on sabbath.
Unfortunately I can't get it. I live in Australia and it wasn't released here. :upset:

alright, in the september issue of guitar world, tony iommi was on the cover (yeah, i know it was a special duel cover with an alternate of judas priest) and in it tony iommi was talking about sabbath bloody sabbath.
during the recording of sabbath bloody sabbath, bill experimented highly and "highly: ;). one day he brought in a metal bathtub, filled it with water and stuck and anvil in there and smacked the anvil making sounds. and those sounds made it onto the album someplace at bill's demand.
yes but then he went on to say that they deleted the anvil track. it was supposed to be on who are you, in the synth intro.

my vote goes to Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom. He could pull it off too, because
i can hear Randy, Jake, and Zakk influences in he's playing.

Okay here's a question for a real black sabbath fan, or a person who knows about stoner metal.... I consider them doom metal. But I have a friend, who tried telling me that they are stoner metal, I have no clue what the hell stoner metal is. Is Sabbath stoner metal, or doom. What the hell is stoner metal?

Absolutely agreed, Laiho. Black Sabbath made metal. But the kind of music that is made by bands which sounds like sabbath now is called doom metal (eg. Orange Goblin...). God**** I'm gonna get Black Box for my birthday, it would be sooo cool to have the first 8 Sab albums.....

Man I love it! Its the most expensive distortion pedal by boss, but it's verrry great. I have a samick 15w amp and its distortion is really crappy, and when I got this one... I got all the sounds I want. I use mostly the Heavy Metal settings they gave on the instrucyions card. And for Sabbath sound, use 'Rock 2' settings, if you buy it. I recommend it. I am no expert at playing guitar (yet :p  ), but I can now tell it's great. It makes my amp sound as powerful as a marshall 100w (ive played through one a few times and i know what i'm saying). So...
Sorry for off topic.

You have a good point...
I guess we should make up a new topic of discussion.
So I'm back and I've got some stuff to say.
1) Why the hell were people online on xmas day?
2) Why is shadow_stalker banned? Apart from his stupid posts on the last page I'm guessing it was a ban4spam?
3) For the 1millionth time: Black Sabbare are HARD ROCK, they have never classed themselves as Heavy Metal, more of a hard rock/heavy blues band. Sure they may have heavily influenced Metal, but they're still nothing more than a hard rock band.
4) Rumor has it that Jerry Cantrell will be on the next Ozzy album, the next person to discuss Ozzy's solo career in this Official Black Sabbath thread will get neg repped by me.
5) I felt like making a 5th point.

Soooo... Shall we discuss about... WTF CAN WE TALK ABOUT NOW man? No idea.
Hmm wait...
I've read on Siegler's site that the remaster on Black Box is different from all other ones... Is it true?
www.black-sabbath.com]The[/url] albums themselves have an unbelievable sound quality never heard in these recordings before. It's not like we have new songs here - these are after all the same songs released before. But they've never been heard like this before. I cannot stress how great these discs sound. I've been listening to Black Sabbath since 1981. I know these songs extremely well - EXTREMELY well. So much so that the slightest change is noticeable. Well, the sound range here is far more powerful than I've ever heard it before.

Does anyone know if there will be another studio album from Ozzy, Bill, Geezer and Tony?
Hah i guess we all hope one will be released, but... I don't think it will happen anymore. Ozzy, like I said like 20 pages before, is too much into the osbournes family business (acting like daft idiot who can barely speak and getting lots of cash for it)... And from what I've read some time ago in news on Siegler's site, it was an interview with Tony... He said there that they are not going to go to studio with Ozzy anymore because... well... It seemed like they (Oz and Tony) were like upset on each other...
rippa32
12-28-2004, 03:50 AM
It would be good to bring Tony Martin back in, but he doesn't want to (heard that in some interview, possibly from joe sieglers site).
Dio wants to work with Tony again, but not Geezer and Bill.
The thing in the Blizzard of Ozz booklet was probably referring to Randy's death.
This thread won't die, it might turn into a bog-standard discussion thread at times but its still all about Black Sabbath.

Wow, and here was me thinking that there wasn't a best of that covered Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die!
Its a shame that ''Air Dance' isn't on there, its a great song :(

Agreed, Air Dance is pretty good. And there was a the best of released before Symptom of the Universe - link from Siegler's site:

I have got it on a casette. It's good because it also has some stuff from Dio era and Born Again (zero the hero)

Yeah its got 29 ozzy era songs on it, I'm at a loss of words for describing how great Sabbath is, I mean..I had heard some of the best known songs prior to buying it, partially why I bought it. So I could listen to more of their stuff, but the other songs are all great songs. It also has a little book full of sabbath information, for instance, how Tony lost his finger tips and thought he'd never be able to play again..Very inspirational..The only song they left off of it was Electric Funeral, was that ozzy era?

Yes. It's second or third song on their Paranoid album. I like it, it's very "gloomy and doomy" (anyone heard Reunion?) :thumb: . If you want to buy anymore albums, you should start with Black Sabbath, Master of Reality, Vol.4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Paranoid. In this order.

I won't agree with any of these. There is NO "ye beste Sabbath songe/albume", imo. Black Sabbath is a great album, so does every other one recorded by Sabbath (from which I know). Amen.

It is bad, I admit. But worse thing is that I can't even buy them! There is almost NO BS albums in our biggest music shop, and I live in a quite big city. And even if there actually were BS albums here in Kraków, I couldn't afford buying them. is an equivalent of your 10pounds much for a CD? I guess not, for you... But Poland is a... less rich country, so it actually would be like paying 60-70 pounds for a cd. If you get my point.
EDIT: and sorry for making a mistake with number with which comes Electric Funeral on Paranoid. Haven't listened to it for a long time.

Meh I can listen to it as many times really,
I just think without that inbetween Changes and Snowblind, what would the album sound like?
As with many sabbath albums, take away one song and you could ruin a prefect album. That's my way of looking at it.

i got banned, but i don't know how long it was for. maybe 2 days.
i was arguing in a thread after they said no arguing. it was something to do with someone calling Blizard of OZZ a sabbath album or something, i don't even remember now because it was such a small random thing. but they had put up rules, and i broke 'em so i think they had every right to ban me.
acefrehleyjendell

Dio wants to work with Tony again, but not Geezer and Bill.
The thing in the Blizzard of Ozz booklet was probably referring to Randy's death.
This thread won't die, it might turn into a bog-standard discussion thread at times but its still all about Black Sabbath.
ohohohohoh!
Guess what I've got!
Ready?
Its not Black Sabbath, oh no...
its...
EARTH!
I just remembered I've got about 23 seconds of a song called The Rebel.
Its very bluesy and has a piano at the start of it.
Now, who wants to touch me?
with DIO, he is probably the only sabbath vocalist that would want to come back, with blizzard booklet, maybe it will reveal more in the diary of a madman one *shuts up, no revealing* and with Earth, i've got bootleg vinyl and cd's of them at Jim Simpsons club in '69 and Germany in 1970.
I also now have EVERY sabbath album and just got the 1992 costa mesa reunion show on cd with sabbath opening for ozz with halford on vocals then sabbath getting up with the OZZman in the encore.

I'm gonna do a favourite track off SBS right about now, I'll do sabotage later though.
to magicbus: SBS is probbably the best sabbath album in terms of composition and producing, whereas I prefer the self titled, it was recorded in 3 days, and for about £300, If you where going to get a sabbath album, allthough it greives me to say it, you should get Paranoid, it's (obviously) the most commercial of all the Sabbath albums, it's not my favourite, anywhere near it in fact, but as a sabbath starter it's excellent.
anyway, back to:
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath:
#1:Spiral Architect
#2:A National Acrobat
#3:Sabra Cadabra
#4:Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
#5:Fluff
#6:Killing Yourself To Live
#7:Looking For Today
#8:Who Are You
The tracks with Rick Wakeman are numerous, but the most obvious ones from what I can tell are Sabra Cadabra and Who Are You, the albums amazing, if not as heavy as Vol 4, talking of which I'm doing a favourite track listing of that...right now.
Black Sabbath-Vol 4
#1:Cornucopia
#2:Wheels Of Confusion/The Straigtener
#3:Supernaut
#4:Snowblind
#5:St. Vitus Dance
#6:Tommorows Dream
#7:Under The Sun
#8:Laguna Sunrise
#9:Changes
#10:FX
In my opinion the best value sabbath album, 10 songs, all great in their own way. It's deffinitley the heaviest sabbath album I've got, you can really tell Ozzy and Tony worked at these tracks, anyone who doesn't have it; BUY IT! Or at least download my four favourite tracks, they are Sabbath, at it's sweaty and heavy best, a great album that I rediscovered last week, it hasn't stopped spinning in my C.D player all week.
Now for some advice to me,
are Never Say Die and Technical Ecstasy worth getting? I heard some negative reviews about it, I'm not really sure whether they sound any good, anyone verify how good they are for me please?
Other than that I haven't really made my mind up about Sabotage yet, hence me delivering my verdict a little bit later, the first couple of tracks (Hole In The Sky, Symptom Of The Universe, Megalomania) are all amazing, I haven't really had the time to 'figure out' the rest of the album yet.

mob does rule
dont tell lord brum that
get masters of reality or sabbath bloody sabbath
Meh, you all know how I feel about Paranoid.
And its Master of Reality, not Masters.
I've been listening to Never say die all day. I just remembered how good swinging the chain and junior's eyes are.
i much prefer it on vinyl to the one i have on cd though, it's a 2002 remaster.
You sir, deserve some rep+
Back to Sabbath. What is everyones favourite dio album?
Live Evil.
Now for some advice to me,
are Never Say Die and Technical Ecstasy worth getting? I heard some negative reviews about it, I'm not really sure whether they sound any good, anyone verify how good they are for me please?
Get Never Say Die! first, then Technical Ecstasy.
Happy New Year guys, due to too much drinking and depression last night I'm going sober for as long as I can.
Rock on.
yeh happy new year everyone. mine was actually a fairly sober one as i was working in the pub, but i finished before midnight and got pleasantly tipsy. going into town on monday, will by Black Sabbath and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (if i can find them)

there was a Pantera special on tv last night and they showed
the video for Planet Caravan.
also they replayed an old tv show from 1983 called rock arena, where
they played a rainbow video as well as neon knights.
they also played a ton of acdc, def leppard, iron maiden, and motorhead.

Symptom of the Universe.
I can't stress that enough, download it. It's probably their heaviest song, and the main riff sounds like something an early-80's thrash metal band would write. Which is amazing, seeing as this track is from Black Sabbath's 1975 release, Sabotage.
Along with War Pigs and Iron Man, Symptom of the Universe is fast becoming an essential part of every Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne playlist I put together.

both
The original was better,
I'm downloading some live early sabbath right now
/me is sending my recording of The Warning to jimmy_page
:)
I got The Black Sabbath Story Vol.2 the other day...its disappointing compared to the first one. The videos and interviews are pretty good and somewhat humerous, but it moves far to quickly from album to album.
Now I kinda see why it only got about 2/5 in a magazine review not so long ago.
But on the plus side, it only cost a tenner.

I'm glad I missed that idiot of the last page. I hate people like that.
But anyway guys, I might not be on here much anymore, but you'll see me on, don't worry.
How come?
I've thought about giving up the Internet 'til I get myself sorted out, I'm not sure if I will or not though.

That's what i'm doing, i've got so many things going on and this is just giving me less time. I might change my mind but i'm still really confused.
Good luck dude :manhug:
I figured that drinking doesn't help my mind so I've gone sober for a few months.

^ yeah i've given up everything except drinking and ciggarettes.
and beleive me there was alot to give up lol.
i'm actually down to like 2 beers a week, where it was like 2 cases a week lol.

Alrighty then..... getting back on topic, Black Sabbath story vol2.
i'm not even gonna compare the 2 films, as they were a totally different
band in both films.
i'm not dissin' either film, i love both of them, and it's great to see some Tony
Martin footage. i have a martial arts instruction program from about 15 years
ago on an old computer, written by Tony himself. He even made a MIDI file
of Iron Man to listen to as you read it.
rippa...shut up.
Anyone can come in here providing they don't make retarded posts.
Has anyone seen/got the Inside Black Sabbath 1970 - 1992 DVD? They claim to have previously un-seen footage on it so I've been thinking about getting it. The main thing thats stopping me from buying it is it could just turn out to be exactly like 'The Black Sabbath Story Vol 1 + 2' but put together as one package type thingy ma bob.
Hmm.
JACKROXYOU
01-03-2005, 10:39 AM
where can i find it? (relizing stupidity because you live in europe)
I've only ever seen it advertised in a magazine and in Virgin Megastore.
Give me...5 mins to find the website...
