I would reccomend paranoid to anyone to become introduced to
Sabbath.
Most greatest hits albums usually have all of Paranoid except like
rat salad and hand of doom.
Maybe The Best of is the way to go, as it has Dio and Gillan tracks also.
what gillan tracks are on the best of black sabbath?

Even though I am not a n00b, I have been posting for quite a while as most of you will know I still quite like the Paranoid album(especially electric funeral) the only gripe I have is that the songs Paranoid and Iron Man get boring so quick there great when you first listen but I was sick of them in about a week. As pointless as that seemed I felt that I had to say that.

Well it was written in what 15 min or somthing.
Scotland was great.
Paranoid blows goats with big horns and floppy testicles.

I'm sorry to turn away from the point of this fourm again, but I just have to know how do you get custom avatars? I'm sick of this crappy Led Zepplin one. (sorry but I am a noob :upset: )
You need a pic thats 70x70 pixels, on the choose avatar screen go down to custom avatar section(its near the bottom) and find it on yer comp then upload it.
That setlist would rule,
but you know it's gonna be mostly Paranoid material,
my bet is that they will deffinitley do Black Sabbath

Yeah that was the only one. Underrated album or so I've heard.

02-24-2005, 05:06 AM
Born Again is not only underrated but "apparently" it's considered to be crap. The cover is said to be the worst album cover ever, which may be true...it's pretty bad.
Anyway, the album is quite good- the title track is great, the riff from "Zero the Hero" can be heard in GnR's "Paradise City", strangely enough, and "Born Again" is where the whole "Stonehenge" idea in "This Is Spinal Tap" came from. I think, but I could be wrong...

I love The Wizerd I think thats Black Sabbath's most underrated song.
I can play all of Iron Man on bass.
I normally improvise over the Sabbath bass lines, for example in The Warning there's at least 5mins of solid bass improvisation thats great to play if ye have a good idea of what yer doing.
I wish people would read the thread, we've known about Sabbath being at Download for ages.

Im currently learning the solo to NIB and I noticed it was slightly different live not much but still a bit. And I still like Black Sabbath live because the seem to have a different sound when on the stage. But if you really want long solos get Past Lives they do a nice long one that is jazz at some points for Wicked World.

Hey sack man what non-ozzy albums do you have?
i have dehumanizer on my computer, but thats it, the only sabbath album i actually have a genuine copy of is sabbath bloody sabbath, and i want more non-ozzy albums before i get any ozzy-sabbath albums. i thought maybe genuine copy of dehumanizer, and possibly something like TYR?

to be honest i find ozzy's vocals quite annoying, and i have one of his solo albums as well - ozzy era sabbath is good but i want some variation.

Black Sabbath was all Tony. without him, they wouldnt have started writing darker music, and had he not lobbed the ends of his fingers off and needed to tune down, bands like metallica(ick), slayer and most other heavy metal bands would more than likely not play metal.

like brum and i just said, Iommi is black sabbath. Heck, Iommi is heavy metal.
I heard a quote the other day: ''Black Sabbath are hard rock, Judas Priest, now they're Heavy Metal!''
Pretty much says it all about who 'invented' Heavy Metal, the Brummie band that is: Judas Priest. Iommi just created hundreds of heavy riffs.
I'm off to sleep, night all

like brum and i just said, Iommi is black sabbath. Heck, Iommi is heavy metal.
I agree that Iommi got black sabbath where they were in turns of "writing" music. But I deffinetly think Ozzy lifted them off the ground because of his natural energetic talent at gigs. Whatch a sabbath dvd and whatch Iommi, He does NOT move, Ozzy gets the crowd goin nuts.
Also take this into consideration, they did soo well with Ozzy, and when they got rid of Ozzy, Sabbath went downhill. And Ozzy made his own band and continued being huge.
