he was born in birmingham. and before he was in sabbath his career was being a burglar. it was in prison that he got the O Z Z Y tattoo across his knuckles. but i think he spent a lot of time in the states after he was kicked out of sabbath.
anyway, enough ozzy talk, what does everyone think of letters from earth? (its on dehumaniser)

Out of curiosity, which track do you all think Ozzy has his best vocals on? I would say Snowblind.

O.K, My favourite songs off The Mob Rules are as follows:
Voodoo,
The Mob Rules,
Turn Up The Night,
Sign Of The Southern Cross.

In my opinion, this is deffinitley the best Dio era Sabbath album, and one of my favourite albums of the 80's,

The Mob Rules>Heaven & Hell> De-humanizer.

All the Dio era albums are amazing, this has probbably the best songwriting from the Dio era, but De-humanizer is deffinitley the heaviest. :)

I heard that Iron Man was written about a man who went into the future and saw the end of the world and when he came back no-one paid attention to him so he went and killed everyone and caused the end of the world that he had seen. This is definatley one kickass story, but I cant seem to find anywhere in the lyrics that says that he saw the end of the world it just says he travelled time.

Ok, this is my first post in here. I love Sabbath but usually just discuss them in the Classic Rock thread. Could you guys recomend me some good albums that aren't s/t, Paranoid, Master of Reality or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath? I was thinking vol.4 but I'm not really sure.

Get Vol 4. I didn't like it at first but now that I listened to it a couple of times I think its great.

He severed the really sensitive points on the very edge of his fingertips, he actually had artificial ones put in, that's probbably why you dont see them.

Brew

^Negative.

He spent the night making himself little thimble type things that have been mass produced for him for the past 30 years or so.

He also has to play slightly downtuned because he doesn't like the tightness of standard tuning.

Not really. Bill Ward is good and certainly above average well hes even above that. But Bohnam is definately better.

Reunion is a pretty excellent C.D,
what do you think of De-humanizer?

dehumanier is a good album (only one i have heard with dio on it), but it doesnt match up to any of the ozzy albums i have heard.

the only led zeppelin album i have is led zep IV and i havn't heared anything on that to see why people say that Bohnam is one of the greatest drummer ever.

Black Sabbath voted best british rock album of all time:

[World News]: London, Feb 16 : Ozzy Osbourne's Black Sabbath have topped a list of the 100 best British rock albums of all time.

Follow-up album Paranoid was fifth in the poll voted by readers of Kerrang! magazine.

Ozzy appears in the list six times, more than any other artist. The Brummie rocker features four times with Black Sabbath and twice as a solo artist.

He said that Black Sabbath making the number one spot was a triumph for British rock.

"Back then you'd hear, 'if you go to San Francisco, be sure to wear a flower in your hair'. And we were like, 'what the f*** are they on about?' We lived in Aston, Birmingham, in drizzly rain. The only flowers I ever saw were on a gravestone in our local cemetery," The Sun quoted Ozzy as saying.

Kerrang's Top 100 features a mix of heavy metal, punk and glam rock.

The Top 25 rock songs:

1. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath 2. Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast 3. Sex Pistols - Nevermind The B******s 4. Led Zeppelin - IV 5. Black Sabbath - Paranoid 6. Muse - Absolution 7. The Clash - London Calling 8. Queen - Sheer Heart Attack 9. Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden 10. Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible 11. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti 12. Judas Priest - British Steel 13. Def Leppard - Hysteria 14. Black Sabbath - Volume 4 15. The Darkness - Permission To Land 16. Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard Of Ozz 17. The Wildhearts - Earth vs The Wildhearts 18. Lostprophets - Start Something 19. Queen - A Night At The Opera 20. Muse - Origin Of Symmetry 21. Ash - Free All Angels 22. Motorhead - Ace Of Spades 23. Stereophonics - Performance And Cocktails 24. Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go 25. Feeder - Echo Park (ANI)
