i reckon it goes like Highway to hell, powerage, high voltage, dirty deeds, back in black.
also their best songs would have to be almost all off the highway to hell album, and shake a leg off back in black

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is definatly one of their great albums that doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. So that is probably my number one, although i really like powerage as well. Highway to hell and back in black are great albums but have been blown out of proportion. Most people who claim to really like AC/DC (at least where i am) hardly know any of their songs besides Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Highway To Hell, and TNT. Those same people don't even realize that AC/DC's original singer, Bon Scott, died, they think they had the same singer the whole time. You think of all people they would have noticed since Bon Scott died after the release of Highway to Hell and Brian Johnson was brought in for Back In Black. *sigh* Unfortunatley, a lot of people never listen any deeper than the songs that are played on the radio.

i like AC/DC, because they are hard-ish rock, and im not much for metal. its more because they still know how to have fun with songs, instead of being serious all the time. and when you think about it, wasnt that kinda what queen did?

Yeah. I liked the Bon years alot better. they seemed different back then... more creative like that one guy said... but yeah there still a kick *** band either way.

and for all who hate em just cuz their simpler than most bands, think about it for a minute. im not just saying this cuz their one of my favorite bands. Blink-182 is simple. AC/DC is pure rock n' roll. At least they solo.

I don't dislike them because their simple, I mean, some songs I've heard by them are actually kinda technical. It's the repetitive quality that gets to me. If I have to say it one more time I'm going to have to take a sedative.

My fav albums:
Highway to Hell
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Let There Be Rock
TNT
Back in Black or For Those About to Rock

I think it's the only band in which repetition has worked for such a long time.

And you gotta wonder how angus can pull off all of those solos whilst going crazy like he does :thumb: , and you gotta respect them, they've pretty much stayed as a group for more than 30 years and are still rocking at 60 odd years old :)

EDIT: By the way, You Shook Me ****s me up the wall, it's all that is played by non-AC/DC fans. Yes it's a good song, but there are better ones such as Riff Raff, Let There Be Rock, Heatseeker (live), What's Next to the Moon, This Means War, Night Prowler, Safe in New York City.

Holy ****in **** i love ac/dc. And i cant beileve people would say how they are the same and not very good and stuff... you know what... ac/dc started well truley started in the late 70s with hitting it big and stuff...and hey what do ya know its 2004 and there are thousands of fans still loving them. thats about 30 years of rocking, plus they had their lead singer die, what did they do? QUIT?NO they got a new singer got back in the studio and made the 4th or is it 5th? Top selling album in the world. Angus like or not is actually rated one of the best guitarists in the world, i dont care who says hes not good...he is. Hes not only an exceptional guitarists but he is one of the few that is original, and has a sense of humor. There arent that many awsome bands that has a guitarists that does a strip routine during every show...who wears a school boy uniform. Also if you really look at it, all songs are going to sound alot alike because theres only so many frets on a guitar and so many chord progressions you can make and penatonic scales you can use for solos, you tell me a band that dosent use one the same chords in every song. Anyways im not trying to argue just defend my passion for them, because they truley are a foundation of hard and classic rock. My favorite albums would be- Highway to hell, High voltage, Fly on the wall, Back in black... and volts, omg volts is so awsome... its in the bonfire boxed set. if you havent heard it do so!
Top songs- Shoot to thrill, Shot down in flames, rock n roll aint noise pollution, who made who, cover you in oil, back seat confidential (First Beating around the bush)....there remake of 'school days' by chuck berry, highway to hell, Hell aint a bad place to be, jailbreak, Shook me all night long, little lover, Live wire is an awsome song AHHH theres so many.
for all the ac/dc fans out there keep rockin, and get ready for the tour! :)

Sorry, but AC/DC wasn't the only band to be rocking for 30 years. The Who formed in 1964, started the mod-era, started the rock opera, produced many great albums. Also, Keith Moon died because of drugs and alcohol. they didn't quit. John Entwhistle died because of "old age". they didn't quit. To say it simple, The Who has weathered many storms as well. Despite losing 2 out of 4, they were (and still are, inmy opinion) the best live band...they give you a show. Clothes...Pete townshend wears work boots and a jump suit, top that. Townshend found many different song styles and many different pentatonic scales for solos. hardly any of his solos sound similar. Yes you are right, AC/DC is awesome but they aren't the only band to live through many adventures.

Like someone else last page said, Flyhalf i think, ACDC was also my reason for picking up guitar.
I first heard them at a new years eve party last year. As soon as I heard them I wondered where'd id been the last 3 years of my life.
Let There Be Rock was the first album ive heard from them with Back In Black, and Highway To Hell being the next couple I bought (good choices as i didnt know much then).

For top albums Id have to say the above 3, I cant decide between them as Im always having to change CDs depending on what i feel like listening to.

For top songs Id have to say Let There Be Rock. Highway To Hell is the ultimate driving song, Back In Black is very catchy. A less well known song - Baby Please Dont Go is quite neat with the low E slides, (I have a video of Bon dressing up as a lady for a show doing this song - Brilliant). High Voltage and Donnington '91 is the best version of that song ive heard.

I have the most kick *** live version of Let There Be Rock ever, about 14 megs. Otherwise Ive got pretty much every ACDC song (126+) so i can send them to anyone who wants them.

don't fücking flame me for this, because i bought all of acdc's albums in literally one month one by one, so i now what im talking about: fly on the wall is the most underrated albums period. the title track, sink the pink, and hell or high water are three of the many favorite songs of ac/dc. also, i think for those about to rock is the most overrated albums ever. ok, the title track is good, but its much better live, and put the finger on you is pretty catchy, but everyone says its one of the best, at least what ive heard. id say buy these in order, trust me, i have a reason for this order:
1. let there be rock
2. highway to hell
3. powerage
4. if you want blood
5. stiff upper lip
6. ballbreaker
7. the razors edge
8. high voltage
9. dirty deeds done dirt cheap
10. live

from there, you can use your imagination, i didnt put fly on the wall because i think im the only person west of the mississippi that likes it. blow up your video is good, too. flick of the switch i think is the worst, although it has begun to grow on me. it's very raw, like early ac/dc, but if bon was singing those songs it would have been a helluva lot better. as for back in black, well, if you consider yourself to be a rock fan, you own it.

LTBR was totally a guitar album and anyone who wants some badass rock and roll with lots of solos, get that album. perfect example: let there be rock. ac/dc's best riff ever, complete with history according to bon. great solo, or should i say solos, in that song. for some good live action, skip over live and go straight to if you want blood, you've got it. all bon on that album.

as for my favorite songs?

sin city - the greatest ac/dc song ever
shoot to thrill - most badass breakdown ever
hell's bells - most badass intro ever (makes me rage drive)
let there be rock - greatest ac/dc riff ever
whole lotta rosie - most... uh... i dunno. awesome song, though.
stiff upper lip - most headbangable ac/dc song ever
it's a long way to the top - greatest song with a bagpipe in it

i love AC/DC more than any other band on this little blue planet of ours. I love them so much that i can't name good or bad songs because i like every single one of theirs (yes it is possible to like them all). others have said AC/DC inspired them to pick up a guitar, but they not only did that to me but also inspired me to listen to music in the first place. as for Bon vs. Brian i think its a tie...they really are a lot more alike than people think. the two greatest singers in rock period. Malcolm (NOBODY HERE EVEN MENTIONED HIS NAME) and Angus are the greatest guitar duo ever. People forget about Malcolm all the time yet he came up with arguable the greatest riff of all time (Back in Black) and he has held down that rhythm guitar position like nobody else. What can i say about Angus...my personal God. He may not be Hendrix or Clapton but he plays with more spirit and passion than anyone (the cordless guitar was indirectly invented for that man...it must have been). another thing, AC/DC is not metal, they are classic rock pure and simple.

as for the comparison between The Who and AC/DC...
AC/DC has been going strong for 30 straight consecutive years
The Who actually broke up for a while (1983)
AC/DC lost its frontman and one of the greatest singers ever
The Who lost perhaps the greatest drummer ever (but he was easily replaceable)
AC/DC came back after their greatest album to that point (Highway to Hell) and released one of the greatest albums in any genre of music with a new lead singer (Back in Black)
The Who released Face Dances after Keith Moon's passing (critics basically said it was crap compared to old Who albums)
AC/DC has released albums on a regular basis (not so frequently anymore)
The Who's last official studio record was released in '83

i could say more but i won't...is AC/DC the greatest band ever (to me yes, to many others no) but they have rocked harder and longer than most and still to this day kick so much ***.

ps. not many people here mentioned Riff Raff...take another listen, its pure genius all the way through.

There where great in the Bon Scott years... But after Back In Black they
became more hit or miss. They had some good songs like Stiff Upper Lip/
Moneytalks/Thunderstruck/Ball Breaker and Heat Seakers. To me it would
have to be:

Shook Me All Night Long
Highway To Hell
JailBreak--Underrated
Back In Black
Ride On--Underrated

My Top 5 AC/DC Cds:
Powerage
Back in Black
The Razors Edge
Highway To Hell
Dirty Deeds

I like sorta lesser known AC/DC songs (like, not back in black or highway to hell). My favorite AC/DC songs are:
If You Want Blood (You Got it)
Thunderstruck
Who Made Who
Heatseeker
Sin City
Shake Your Foundations

Yeah. Does anyone know when their new album is coming out?

Not an AC/DC fan... I think they're kinda repetitive. I mean, they're alright, but only in small doses... *runs to the hills and hides*

Agreed. Much too repetitive, but sometimes I'll listen to a song or two. More novelty than anything, for me.
