We have just finished doing the pre-final mixes to our 5 song EP, haven't thought of a name for the CD yet though, maybe just "Still Life" or "The Life Still." There's still maybe an hour more of mixing to do... but its pretty much done.
Here are 3 of the songs, I think the vocals in at certain parts of Broken Man and Self Portrait need to be turned up, but other than that I really like how it's turned out.
(for those of you that have already heard some of my mp3s give it another listen... the remixes were just done last night and sound a LOT better)

Sounds professional. I wouldn't buy your cd, or download it for free for that, but I have to say it sounds very good for a canadian.

Thanks man, I really wish the music scene down here would get a little better... but it seems to be with a few bands exploding big ie. sum41, billy talent, 3 days grace :D
Come to my bands next show october 29th and the reverb
or
October 31rst (Halloween) at the opera house .
Paperback Prince. First off, this sounds really professional and well mixed actually. The singer can genuinely sing as well, and there are some good touches that make the song even better, like some of the guitar work under the vocals if that makes sense. Out of interest, what do you play in this band? But yeah, I like it, and I'd consider buying the EP based on this. Keep It Up. :) One last thing, the drummer knows what he's doing as well, notably starting at about 2:15 when the toms start leading the song. I'm impressed.
I'm actualy rythmn guitar and vocals :D thanks for your feedback. I'll tell my drummer that, he killed himself recording this demo and playing to the metrinome.
EDIT: fenwood; how does being from Canada effect the quality of the music ?

I guess some can't take compliments well. The only bands from canada that I can think of are all absolutely pox (nickleback,sum41,moffats,barenaked ladies, bryan adams)

Wow! You guys are good!
The production and mix could use a bit of tweaking, (more reverb on the vocals)
But overall really good.
The song structure & arrangment were awesome!
The playing was really top notch, too!
You guys should be on the radio!

Not bad, very professionally done.
It however sounds somewhat fabricated (you sound like another Canadian sellout POP band), and the overlapping voices get f'ing annoying... sorta like "Brand New" band. Don't take this the wrong way though, its only my opinion. Its very good, nevertheless - and ****, you can sing.

Very professional, and very good vocals. The guitar tones are great too.
However, I hate the style of music. It sounds like every other generic emo/rock/'indie' band ever, and seems like a huge step back from your 'Farfetched Photo' song etc (apologies if that wasn't you, I have a bad memory). You deserve to do well, but there's no way I'd buy any of your bands CDs if you sounded like that.

If you have any kiddies <13, leave them at home. If you yourself are a kiddie, better stay away from this bloke as well.

come to our show at the opera house on the 31rst (halloween) doors open at 6pm.
we also got a show at the reverb on the 29th doors open at 7. Methinks, the shows are all ages so I don't think you need ID anyway.

Raine sounds very professional! Not exactly my favorite style but it's great for the genre. Reminds me a lot of King Black Acid. Its very relaxing.

Don't really like the style of music it lacks a bit of individuality like a lot of people have said but that is pretty hard to achieve and this is pretty good quality playing and excellent recording in my opinion. I know this isn't very helpfull but there you are. I like the whole debate over countries affecting how good you are - and British bands are actually the best, not BECAUSE they are British but Britain just seems to produce better bands than America or Canada which are a bit too "pop" for my taste. (This being a good case in point).

I think perhaps the reason for this is because britain embraces good rock whereas the united states and canada have fallen into this pop rock crap trap. I know my band isn't original, but its sort of purposely done... we want to make it as musicians and get radioplay and enough money so we can do what we really want. :D I actualy like a lot of british bands, Radiohead and Muse are pretty sweet, but the states has also created its fair share of great bands... not recently though, but in the past.

Nah that isn't us, we're probably going to change our name though since we are both in the same city. I think there is a band called "Still Life" in Ottawa and one in the "UK" but both kinda suck.
If you're from toronto, come check out our website and come see us at a show ;) www.still4life.com

Gibson Les Pauls / SG's
Mesa Boogie Duo Rectifier with 1960 marshall lead half stack.
