Alkaline Trio are by far my favourite band. I cant wait to see them at Leeds. Does anyone know if they're touring the UK this year aswell? I know they played that secret gig in london but are they doing a full tour? I haven't seen them live yet.

i dont have one but they did this sick intro with some wierd effect i think on keyboard....
i cant remember what order they played these in but they did time to waste, the poison, back to hell, burn, mercy me, your neck, nose over tail, clavicle, private eye, you've got so far to go, radio, crawl, emma, and i cant remember what else...then matt said "this is when we run off stage then come back and play 3 more songs but its too ****in hot for that so just imagine us going off stage then coming back" then they played 2 songs i cant remember which ones but they were older ones and for the closing song they did blue in the face (full band not acoustic) as an intro to 97 rather than the calm intro on the studio version on 97 then played the rest of that one...the lighting was amazing whoever did the lighting did a very good job and the sound quality was GREAT...best experience in my life! the only songs they didnt play that i wanted them to were sundials and dethbed but to make up for it they did everything else really awesome and derek grant is the most amazing drummer i have ever heard in my life...

when they played radio they quit playing during the second chorus and matt didnt sing so they just let all of us sing it it sounded awesome...any concert experiences u guys can share bout the trio?

In my opinion Alkaline could never go wrong, especially not with the dream team they have made solid with good mourning {matt, dan, derek}. Every album the come out with is so much different from the last, yet still hits that high energy, thought out lyric signiture sound of alkaline. Their new CD crimson is amazing and just shows that this band will be around forever, whether its flirting with the line of mainstream and underground or not, alk3 is a band to remember.

After listening to every album thoroughly, i can safely say that my favourite CD of theirs is Good Mourning.
I can't see how anyone can say it isn't. It's their best lyrically and musically.
Favourites are, Emma, Continental, 100 stories, Every thug needs a lady, this could be love and blue on the face.

Ah right, when you write it down like that, it does seem as if Matt does so much more, but IMO i think it's balanced well, and it's fine like that.
FHTI blend quite a lot, that's the sign of a good album, but the track listing in Good Mourning was sublime.

I just feel dissapointed with Crimson.
It's less edgy and hard, it's a lot softer and slower it seems too.

And both if their vocals have been fu'cked about, and it's sounds so much worse..

Dan never sings enough in my opinion, I think his songs are amazing, Smoke is an awesome song to end the album. There is a bass solo in Sadie, it's not very complex but sounds great, it's when that woman is saying the quote thing. Not exactly a solo but still...

all sadie is, is a re-recorded version of a song from one of the splits...cant remember which one cause i dont have those. is there really any difference other than quality?

and dan for the most part only sings songs he wrote...buy Halloween at the Metro DVD, listen to audio commentary for a while...i dont know what song they were playing when he said that, but he did somewhere in there...said that because he wrote them he didnt want other people to sing them.

the 1st album is still their best, i've seen them live 3 times and they were brilliant 2 of the times. the other time was at the carling festival and they don't suit playing outdoors.

alkaline trio has followings from more than one group of people when i saw them there were so many lesbians there...the ones i was around were cool but there were some fat ones i saw playing with each other a little further back before the show started, but one got mad cus i was like all over her butt when they were playing it was kinda funny...dont think i say any gay doods but i couldnt tell, there were people from lots of different cultures...so its not really disgraceful at all except that fact that shes 8...but still thats just odd, not disgraceful

then get God****it, then From Here To Infirmary, then Good Mourning and Crimson..but MICF will probably get you the best feel of their general sound and style

I think From Here To Infirmary and Good Mourning Are Regarded as their best two, i couldn't say which is prefered overall.

I like FHTI better, i think it's got some better songs on, although Good Mourning is also very good.

These are the three albums that stand out to me, although all of their albums are awesome. You can't go wrong whatever you decide to buy.

We listened to the whole of Crimson today in art, and no one complained ONCE.
Which was highly unusual, because normally all the chavs complain about it when me or my friends put cds on and not the radio, but today no one complained, maybe because they liked it, i don't blame them, so good.

This is my alk3 concerned dilemma. They have been my favourite band for quite some time, and me and a mate want to go to see them at the london astoria on the 18th august, but the tickets are sold out, i only just heard about it :(

If ANYONE has any spare tickets, I will pay you back for how much they cost, i NEED to go to this gig. cheers :)

get limewire or something, download as many random alk3 songs as u can, and listen to them...then find out what cds the ones u like are on and get more from the cd(s)
