1. Go to Target
2. Dig in trash for a reciept of something costing $20 dollars
3. Walk into store, make sure no one is looking, pull corresponding item off shelf
4. Go to return counter, say you no longer need/want said item for some reason
5. Walk out with $20!
:thumb:
yes but, you forgot about bar codes. every item is registered and it says the item skew on the recipt.

ok DIY right? how bout pircings?? I was sitting around, and realized I didnt have a single pircing, and I was like "hey im anti-comformist", but then I was like "maybe I'm just a *****". So I tried to pirce my belly button using a safety pin (shut up) I got it through, it was sticking out the out other side, but it wouldnt go any farther. I wasnt strong enough to push it through. Any tips??

Tip: I wouldn't try any piercing besides your ears yourself.
I'm pretty sure if you do your belly button wrong you can cause internal bleeding...

ok well where ever, how would I go about piercing? Is it necesary to have a cork or apple or whatever behind it? Can you clean it with peroxide?
Jessizzle
03-07-2005, 07:18 AM
Iv known many people who did their own belly butten.. and they all got infected then died. You could do your eyebrow just pull out the skin then put whatever your useing thru.
cheeser_1
03-07-2005, 07:24 AM
there are things you can by to clean piercings, peroxide (to my knowledge) is not the best, and is actaully bad for facial piercings (which is not what you are talking about, i know). i'm also pretty sure that if you don't want to purchase this cleaning solution, (mild) salt water works okay.
safety pins are not the best for piercing with. unless you're using a very high (ie thin) gauge ring/bar/whatever you put in it, you're way better off using a hollow pointed needle. which means it will take a chunk out of ya, but that's the point. but that's also much harder to do yourself, and unless you think about it ahead of time, it's hard to get ahold of one.
the actual piercing part, there are two ways to go about it, i suppose, and i don't know that either is necessarily better. you can just jab, really fast, and go straight through in one shove. it's fast, at least. or you could push it through slowly, which is a bit more controlled, but of course, very slow and less forceful. i recommend the first method for places where the skin is hard to go through or if you're using a hollow point needle. in your case though (unless your belly button is like, really tough skin), i'd say going slow would work fine, but you've still gotta get it through.
if you have anything like a cork, useless book, big eraser, or anything else hard that can absorb a safety pin jab and you won't get upset if it does(ie do not use a kitten, jello, piece of pie, etc), use that. just hold it on the end you're piercing out of, and push through into that. i'm not sure how you do it with the belly button (just stick it in there, i guess, if you're an innie).
you have to make sure you pierce deep enough that it won't surface (important for things like eyebrows and stuff). so be sure you aren't just going through some outer layers of skin, because the ring will just move its way out, and you'll have a stupid looking scar usually.
and for the record, belly button piercings are not categorically non-conformist (i would say quite the opposite). but then again, we can be sure someone who "punches cops" is way too punk rock for all of us.

well, you are wrong, ive pierced myself plenty of times, and been peirced by others
the only time a needle removes anything is if you twist it, which is a rediculous thing to do, or you use a MASSIVE needle. needles cut a cresent, then the shaft opens it up

I don't think it works all that well.
any one know anything about iron on paper that you can print on?
I've thought about trying that, although I think it would be more interesting to learn to silkscreen.
It would make my patch making easier, though.
anywho, I've finished all my patches so far, but I'm going to make more. I'm even going to make more for some of my friends, as soon as they get me the supplies (it's a trade).
I decided to put all my patches on this jacket, since I don't have room on my backpack. It's my mom's old jacket from the 70's, but she doesn't care if I sew the patches on or what. I'm not going to sew them on until I've got all the patches that I want done, so I can see how I want them to be arranged on the jacket. But here's what I have so far:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v614/asdfqaz/jacket.jpg
I made all except for one of those patches. The one I didn't make is the red one from a local band. Their patch sort of inspired me to make my own.

Well, I've said it before in this thread, so I'll just go dig up what I said before:
I also make my own patches. The way I do this is I print out the image that I want from my computer onto some cardboard-ish material. Then I cut the image like a stencil and use fabric paint. Fabric paint pens work a lot better then just bottles of fabric paint, but they run out much faster.

mine does that to an extent, but i have thick curly hair, so it's prone to falling over if i knock it around too much. which is a pain in the butt. on the other hand, if i make sure not to totally squash it, it works just fine.

Mine was a wee bit curly at first, but after as much hairspray and dying as I used to do, it was too fried to have any life or resiliance, so it wasn't that hard to keep under control.

Depending on the length, the glue might be weighing it down even more. When my hawk was a lot longer I'd put on some hairspray to shape it, then run some melted knox gel through it, push it together into a point, and let it dry. It was unbreakable.

I live in Utah so there's not a huge scene here, but I've been wanting to get more involved in it recently. I just don't know where to get started, and haven't quite decided how much to charge, or wheter it's worth it to charge a bit more for 'Made in the USA' shirts or not, etc.
dkm4life010
03-20-2005, 09:27 PM
by "made in the USA" shirts do you mean non-band shirts? or shirts actually made in the usa. and for patches, i take the time to make them by hand. if you're going to sell them, pins= 75 cents (if small scale) patches= at least a dollar, depending on detail, color, etc. and for shirts= same as patches but...at least $10 i would say and then if more people buy them, slowly raise the price. and yeah, i live in chicago and the scene sucks. except for one anarchist/ vegan march at a meat factory...

i have no idea where that came from, but also, you're stupid. the US is the only first world country that has as relaxed (if not completely neglegent) gun control laws as it does. most other first world countries have a yearly death-by-handgun rate of about 3 people. PER YEAR. in america, we measure those statistics in the thousands (and don't tell me it's a population difference, because that's still not the proportional difference).
as for your might-be-scottish example, that's dumb. you know what it is, when they tell everybody to have a gun? GUN CONTROL. sure, it's not the same gun control you might be used to hearing about on fox news or whatever it is you watch, but it's just another form of gun control.

I am shifting from spikes to a mohawk, and I'm way too cheap to get it done anywhere, so I am getting people to do it for me.
What's the easiest way to cut it? Piece of tape down the middle of the head?
What is a good width?
wat u do to get a 'hawk is simple
acquire a hair buzzer, then go to a sister or mom or girlfriend or watever some chick and get like a hair clip like they sometimes use to hold their hair, then clip together what ever u wanna keep, then ldroop that to one side, then buzz everything on the other side, then put waqt u wanna keep over the side u just shaved and shave the other side, then put a****load of hairspray in ur hair and dry it with a blowdryer

No it doesn't, I tried that. Knox gel + hairspray is where it's at.

Bar soap. Its cheap, not disgusting, easy to find, and doesn't involve the horrible exploitation of chickens.

Such as, ever Tuesday infront of the Abortion place old woman put up pro life posters and "protest" so in spring break which is next week. I'm getting the boys and sharpies. I'm writing Pro-Choice and going to also "protest" againest the old woman. Why?
1) Those woman stopped having children in the stone age
2) They're annoying
3) At church one of the Pro-Lifers tried to make my family go to the Pro Life march
4) They're ugly

My people are also known for watermellon and fruit.
The chicken loving comes from slave masters only giving old dirty chicken to us. The African American diet in slave times was really alot more veggies than meat.

Yes, on topic.
I read sometime ago that someone made patches. I would like to try that in the break. Rude Boy patches here I come, anywho. What was the material you used?

I've heard many people use canvas type fabric, which is the type of fabric I'll use when I finally get around to making patches. I'm pretty sure that's what most bought patches are made from as well.

Thank you but I was truly asking what he made the stencils out of.
I guess I didn't really word it correctly. Oh well.

Stencils? I think one person said thick cardboard-ish paper if you are printing it from the computer, otherwise go for a thicker cardboard. I made my stencils from a cheezit (cracker) box.

I don't want metalcore bands on my suit.

Laminate the picture, then cut the stencil out of that. It's easier than thick cardboard, and holds its shape better than thin construction paper.
Brain Toad
03-22-2005, 05:43 PM
Laminate works too, I used duct tape on mine, because that's what I had available. I lost that stencil though.

Hair glue sucks for hawks, at least it did for mine. It made the tips too heavy and it would droop to the side and I'd look like a cocktoo with erectile disfunction.

Do the shoulders have little buttoned strips, like for holding bags or hats? If it does, put some on there, maybe on the collar, and around the back maybe.
