Okay I said I'd do a little write-up on how to make a wallet and post it in this thread, but I completely forgot about it until now.
I'm going to start on a new wallet tomorrow, so I'll take a couple pictures and post them in here with a little write-up.

Steel is the beer when you want to get drunk and only have 2 bucks and some change. it's like 11% and tastes like crap- but gets the job done:chug: we tried to brew our own beer a few times, only one was good- a pale ale
you don't need to have a keg to play beer pong- just a few cases of beer- a table and cups.
there is also flip cup- a better game IMHO, drink, set the cup down(bottom end first) and flip over to the drinking end- it goes down the line when the guy next you finishes- 5 on a side or how ever many

The lacing, well, I was too lazy to make actual loops, so I just attached saftey pins where the loops would've been and threaded through that.

Well, you could try a more DIY approach through experimenting. To my knowledge, chalk works best on porous material, like asphalt which is made up of lots of tiny rocks, or wood which is lots of miniscule "valleys" on the surface, and why chalk doesn't work on smooth surfaces. So maybe if you got your desired paint colour and mixed it up with something to make it rougher, like maybe sawdust or that salt they use to melt snow on the roads. I guess basically experiment with as many fine bits and piece you can think of, until you find something that works. At that point, make it public, please.

I think a medium-sized room with mirror walls that work like a whiteboard would be cooler, because then you could drop acid and spend the trippiest eight hours of your life doodling in that room, with everything reflecting back into infinity. You would trip out like mad dog on catnip.

Twin Human Highway Flares

Yeah, some sort of ventilation system would be in order. I'd have to take out all the windows and replace them with whiteboard things that open. I like the smell, but the fumes would be undoubtedly harmful.
And yeah, acid doesn't really work with my edge policy. Though it's probably the one drug I'd do were I to break edge.
Sunshine
01-10-2007, 06:14 AM
Acid? Seriously?
If you have a bad trip, it can come back and haunt you for like 10 years =/
My art teacher got arrested for acid back in like the 60s or something..every year someone looks up her criminal record online and tells everyone "OH MAN GUYS MRS G GOT BUSTED FOR ACID~!~~!!!!!"
Twin Human Highway Flares
01-10-2007, 06:33 AM
Well, yeah, there's the bad trip factor, but if you set it up right, apparently it can be an amazing experience. If I was to do drugs, I wouldn't just want to get high, I'd want something really cool.
coheneran
01-10-2007, 07:10 AM
Bad trips only happen if:
(a) You're going through a bad time in your life, depression etc. Never take any drugs if you're feeling bad emotionally.
(b) You try to fight the effects of the trip. You gotta lay back and enjoy it. Keep reminding yourself it's all happening because you dropped acid, lay back, and let the trip guide you, don't try to control it.
It is amazing fun.
If acid flashbacks are real, that's awesome. That's like two trips for the price of one! Unless they incorporate the price of the second trip into the price of the tab, in which case, bastards.
Sunshine
01-10-2007, 12:43 PM
Dude, acid flashbacks can come at *any time.*
Like, when you're driving or at work and ****?
That's a bad, bad thing.
Which is why acid = not so good.
Well...one of the reasons, anyway.
According to my brother the acid collecting in your spinal cord thing is a myth, which implies that you cannot have flashbacks.
However, his own girlfriend used to be a heavy drug user and has claimed to have had flashbacks to bad trips.
But she has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, so she might have just been having a bad flashback. Hard to say.

Ghostfire3

Flashbacks are a myth, but it's possible to get symptoms related to post-traumatic stress disorder.
I'd probably do acid 40 years ago, but these days pure acid is very hard to find, it's mostly just strychnine and speed.
It makes a whole lot of sense for her to be suffering from PSTD, because when she did heavy drugs was when most of the terrible things she has flashbacks about happened.

I'm too lazy to look it up, and I don't even know for sure. My brother claims that because it's water soluable, it can't possibly be stored in your spinal cord for extended periods of time.
i've never got flashbacks from shrooms; i have the most intense adventures then forget them 10 seconds later :(
OH MY GOD I JUST HAD A FLASHBACK

oh my godddd that was amazing. like really nice.
but it was only because I was concentrating really hard trying to remember
eeee its back :)
it was this picture, some weird thing that associated really deeply with a happy memory from childhood or something, it made me feel really warm and comforted on the trip and its doing a similar thing now. :)

He told me about his trip the next day.
He thought he was a Zombie King and the bathroom was his layer, so he walked around, locked in the bathroom, afraid to leave his layer, and....some other stuff.

Oh, and by "did" shrooms, what I really mean is, he "does" shrooms.

I started making shoes out of canvas (and perhaps a broken bicycle tyre if I could find one) before I went home for xmas. I managed to almost finish developing the pattern, before I flew home. Now that I'm back, I'm no longer in a huge DIY kick, so I've lost inspiration... also, I don't have a sewing machine, and hand sewing is too weak to make a pair of shoes. At least my hand sewing is. They would have been similar in shape to vans-style loafers. One of these days I'm gonna get back at them... I'll post pics at that point.

That was 4 months ago, I have no idea what it is about that...however you spell it...that makes me not want to finish. I've done other ones, just not that one. And pieces have been breaking off and ripping, which is really sad, because for a 1/2 finished piece of artwork, it was really very cool.

My freshman year we were doing collages out of stuff found in magazines for art. My friend and I were going through magazines and started to notice the rediculous amount of ads for watches. So she tore out a whole bunch of them, handed them to me and told me to make something.
So ever since then there's been a collage of watches dispersing out of one corner of my room.
It's not about anything, but it's pretty cool.

Buy a pair of jeans or whatever you're looking for. Anything you buy is going to be of way better quality than anything you could make. It's worth the money. And if you really don't want to spend that much or you don't have that much money then just go to Salvation Army or something.

Turn them inside out, put them on, pull them as tight as you want and put some pins in. Take them off and run a sewing machine down the line you created. Turn them so they're not inside out and put them on, seeing if they work. If so turn them inside out and run a few more lines of thread down the new seam to reinforce it, and cut off the excess. If not pull out the thread and try it again til you get it right.
I discovered Ragstock maybe a year ago, and now I get new clothes almost exclusively from there. 6$ jeans, flannel shirts for <3$, and most everything else for well under 10. (I get a discount, but it's still cheap at regular price.) I got this old Woolrich jacket for 10 at the beginning of the schoolyear, and I've worn it daily since then.

His t-shirt size probably wouldn't be too hard to figure out. if he's average weight and is like, 5'3-5'7, he's probably a medium, any taller probably large, and if he's chubby add a size. Or hell, next time you're making out with him take his shirt off and look at the size.
As for the back patch, a sharpie would probably work. I've never tried it, but those silver sharpies might work on dark fabric too. Either way, just buy a $2 shirt from your local thrift store, cut it, and go nuts.

It's much better for stencilling than anything else. It's basically plastic, but it's almost paper thin, and firm like cardboard. Plus, it's see-through so when you're doing multi-layer stuff, you can line it up perfectly. Also, it rolls up without breaking. You can get it in huge sheets, but I don't know where.

Picked up a couple silver sharpies at the Staples today, going to figure out just what I'm going to do for this [besides write "Leftover Crack" in their signature font, of course].
Stupid question being: The sharpie will eventually fade/wash off, correct? Is there any way to slow/stop the process, lock the color in longer, or is it just a its-going-to-fade-no-matter-what-deal-with-it thing?

I've used black sharpie that's lasted a long time, but I have no experience with silver.
Try doing a couple layers, let it dry about 48 hours, wash it, and repeat. If it starts to take hold then keep going. If not then I don't know.

Once it's dried, iron it. Don't use steam or water, just dry iron.
Patriotism and nationalism are both stupid, but nationalism just a little bit more. If someone loves one country significantly more than another, it's because she hasn't seen any other countries properly, and/or she's nostalgic about her country because she grew up in it. A country's just a piece of land, and every piece of land is equally beautiful.
EDIT: Unless America's got there, then it's just McDonalds surrounded by destroyed houses and burning bodies.

Tomorrow I'll probably do a 40 oz. with the appropriate words, sew it all onto a grand-master-patch and call it a day.
Oh, and iron it, as was suggested.
Then make sure it all stays on there.
Then wrap it.
Then wait 'til his birthday [which happens to be V-day, so I've got time].
I almost don't want to give it away...but ah well.

Nice one. But mind the "v" in Leftover, the top connecting line's a bit thicker than it should be, it's looking a bit like a "b".
I thought you were too anarcho to be Jewish.
I was talking about Jonni.
It is impossible to say something is beautiful without it being subjective. It is very difficult to argue that a wet, muddy backyard in a small backyard is even close to the grandeur that is the western American landscape, or even the densely wooded forest just a mile or two away from that backyard.
My biggest objection to what you said is saying that all land is equally beautiful. This just isn't true. Beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder, but that doesn't mean that my dumpy town is as pretty as a beach or something.
If you want I could say that objectively, all nature is ugly. But that's not as nice as saying it's all objectively beautiful.
Alternatively, we could settle for, "Objectively, all nature is." and leave it at that.:p
All this subjective objectivity is making me nauseous.

Haha I always hated that script, my name being Eva and all. The honor roll in various schools I used to go to used it, so it really looked like Eba to me.
But I'll try and see what I an do, thanks ^-^

My mom did that when she was an exchange student in Denmark. She'd just get on a train, go to sleep, wake up and be like, "Hey, I'm in Belgium. I'll hang out here for a while." It always sounded like fun to me.

Exactly it should be pretty fun..
What did she study in Denmark?

I don't think she studied anything in particular. Come to think of it, I've never heard her talk about going to school there. Just stories about how the Danes were crazy into American songs she was incredibly sick of and would make Danish versions of them.

Alright, so. Patch thing = almost done. Still can't decide what to draw on the label of the 40 oz [that Leftover Crack thing was only 1/2 of it].
But because I can never do just one project at a time [I usually have like. 5. To swtich between when I'm tired of working on one], I've got a whole new realm of stupid questions.
If anything, they keep people on topic. To a point.
So. Dye. Well, not dye...not like, hippie-dippy art-faggy tie-dye crap. More like...paint. For clothes.
Kinds, sources, prices, techniques? Anyone?

Do you know anything about washing dreads before they lock into place? I've heard that it's neccessary to put them in a big sock and wash them with it on.

I used dr. bronner shampoo when I had dreads, it's great, all natural and fair traded. I didn't use wax and my dreads looked good for like 5 days (maybe my friend and I did it wrong?) and then I took them out and cut my long hair. I'm not trying to discourage you, but back comb very tightly! And maybe try wax?

I know, Baby. I just wanted to know if I needed to do anything special when washing new dreads. The site you gave me doesn't say much about washing them when they're new.
And to Rob, I will definatly use wax and comb back tightly. Thanks for le tips.
My hair's only about four inches long, so It'll be a few months before I try these out. That should give me enough time to decide if I truly want them or not.

I was thinking more along the lines of..."It really sucks because your birthday is the same day as a holiday, so everybody celebrates that holiday instead of your birthday, so I, being the awesome person I am, am going to focus soley on your birthday 'cause I know how much it sucks having it lumped in with something else."
My birthday is 6 days before Christmas.
While it's not the same day, people still feel the need to lump them together.
Except my mom. She won't put up the decorations until after my birthday.

Hang up one of those tacky "Happy Xth Birthday" banners over your bed, and give him a really long blow job (the kind where he has to tell you if he's coming so that you can stop and wait for a bit, and then start again to drag it out).
