can anyone turn the lettering at the bottom of http://slob666.tripod.com/images/BloodOrWhiskey.gif this into a stencil?
If you post the image, I can make it.

So anyway, I'm cutting the bad brains stencil now, I'll probably paint it tonight. Post pics tomorrow if I do.

it's the lettering there, not the picture. But i'd like it all horizontally or whatever, so it doesn't slant down. Thanks.

Okay, here's the deal with my shoes:

After some convincing, my mom moved her car. I cut the stencil out on posterboard, stuffed my shoe with newspaper, taped on the stencil, and sprayed. A few hours later, when the paint's dry, I come back to find that I used way too much spraypaint, way to close to the stencil, so it was just a big runny mess, with the original logo still barely visible. So I got this idea to just keep that big runny mess there and trace over the original logo in black marker. So I did that, and now it actually looks great and probably actually cooler and more original than just the logo would have been. Isn't it great when things work out?

I plan on keeping my records for a long time. Keeping the shrink on them will just help keep the jacket from wearing. My dad does that with all his records so I just sort of do it. Unless it's the kind of jacket the folds out.

Its pretty easy, That stencil took all of 5 minutes to make. I got their logo from their site and turned it black (didn't have to do any cutting because its already stencil-able) then you have to get stencil fonts, there are some at this site http://www.stencilrevolution.com/resources/

To make your own stuff from scratch you need to go to Jo-Ann's or whatever and buy a pattern. They'll help you.

But, I'd advise against it. I made jeans and it tooks like 10 hours and they're uncomfortable as hell. Plus, you'll never find a pattern that actually looks like just a regular pair of jeans. In conclusion, it is very hard to make something worth having. VERY.

But then again, I might just try to make a t-shirt sometime. That shouldn't be too bad.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v306/spencer5135/pantsc.jpg

Plus the *** it too low and the front is too high, maybe because I didn't follow the pattern perfectly. Trashed 'em. But, be sure to put your own cool tags and **** in, [notice my fugazi tag, because I was in an Ian MacKaye phase]!

Couldn't you sew around where you're going to cut (with a sewing machine, not by hand) and then cut it? Like hemming a pant leg.

I found a site dedicated to pictures of graffiti in my city over the past 3 years or so. It's pretty interesting, quite a bit of it I hadn't seen before, and then some I know right where it's located. Some of the stencils are much better than what I could do, but not many.

They said they were looking for more pictures of graffiti around the city, so for laughs I sent them this classic:

Where would you go to get some clips to attach at butt flap to pants? I saw some in a fabric store once but they're no longer there.
Also, I'm going to be painting an Anthrax 'capitalism is cannibalism' logo on leather jacket, which looks like this:

it's kind of hard to see here, but it's line art with pen. I don't want to be painting a bunch of lines in, so if I paint a white background, how will a pen turn out? I have a fine pen with waterproof ink, but I still don't want to draw that whole thing out only to have it get ruined.

On a nother note, I made Sheep Farming in the Falklands patches, but gave them away before I could get pictures. They were cool though.

On a nother note, I made Sheep Farming in the Falklands patches, but gave them away before I could get pictures. They were cool though.

For your butt flap as you called it. Get a bondage belt, they have the hooks to put it on. But if you can't get enough cash for one(the come to about 40-30 bucks). If not, you can easliy just attach it to your pants with some thread. No more than 5minutes of sewwing.

For the leather. If your gonna do it on the back, spary paint it, put some sealer on it. Then when a extra fine Deco outline it, then with an fine Deco fill it in. Then put some more sealer. Should stay perfect.

I actually have leather airbrush paint so I'll hand paint it in. Does sealer help a lot to put on first? Also, what do I use to get paint off? It's acrylic and water based but I put sealer on over it.

Also, I'm going to be painting an Anthrax 'capitalism is cannibalism' logo on leather jacket, which looks like this:

I'm sort of in a sculpting/ceramics class (technically, I'm signed up for it, but really I'm in photography indiependent study, although I have the option of doing both) and I'm thinking of building my tall bike with the help of my friend during that class. They have a welder, and that way I'd have some guidance from a teacher. We tried explaining a tall bike to him, and he'd never heard of anything like that. We'll see what happens.

If not, I have plenty of people who want to help me over the summer.

Yeah, I'm not entirely up for making sculptures. Espcially right now, we're working on abstract pieces with clay... something I just cannot do.

Fortunately, I can instead work on photography.

And by work, I mean sit in the dark room and eat chips for an hour (unless I actually have film to develop)

I suggest you buy Textile Medium and any number of acrylic paints. The you just mix equal parts acrylic and paint medium and slop it right through the stencil. Then hang it over the radiator and it dries in 40-60 minutes. The great thing with this is that you can paint different parts of the stencil in different colours. I made a McProfits shirt I'm really proud of, it's on a dark red t-shirt. The arches are in gold and the McProfits is in lighter, more vibrant (also nearer blood coloured) red. It looks amazing, I think.

Question. What would be the fastest way to make patches. I just bought the material for them. And have my stencil. What kind of paint should I use?

There's a kind of paint you can buy in a normal paint jar called TEXTILE MEDIUM and you can mix that with ACRYLIC PAINTS to make paint that will stay on cloth and won't wash off. This is cheaper and more practical than buying straight out textile paint because textile pain doesn't come in as many colours readily (you will probably have to make orders for the less used colours) whereas every paint shop stocks tons of nearly every kind of acrylic colour. So if you mix in a jar equal parts textile medium and acrylic paint (ie. 2 spoonfuls of Textile Medium and 2 spoonfuls of Acrylic Blue and stir them in together(the textile medium is white but when mixed with acrylic it blends in and doesn't affect the shade or tone of the colour)) you get textile paint and you can just tape the stencil onto your chosen material and just sponge the paint through. Give it a good hour to dry and then, as with every other DIY print, iron it. Don't just slap the iron on it. Put a thin piece of material between the dried painted area and the iron, and iron over that for 10 minutes or so, and then peel off the covering material carefully. Another cool technique I learned is that if you put sparkly dust on them (like the sh'it we used to cover our pictures with in kindergarden) it will stick to the wet paint and then melt during the ironing, and what you get is a sweet-looking sparkly thing. So if anything you're printing calls for sparkly things, or if you just hang out with stoners a lot, it's nice.

These guys are a lot cheaper. They don't have a lot of boots, but the ones they do have look kickarse and cost 50 quid. It says here that the steel toe cap can resist a force of 300 joules. That's like a bullet I think. Well, I know my old BB gun was 2.5 joules or something like that:

How could I spike my hair?

Best way I can do it is (my hair when spiked is like the singer out of the casualties) I back comb my hair (for extra support) gel it really well, hold it, blow dry it, then spray it with loads of hair spray, blow dry it. It takes a good while to do but it'll stay up all day, even the next day if you don't sleep and bend them.

coheneran
01-27-2006, 10:44 AM
What also works well is hairwax. It's stronger than gel and works until you wash it out, so that if the spikes bend you can straighten them again. The downer of it is that it takes some effort to wash out, but a tub of it lasts longer than a tub of gel.

I'm making a striped shirt. Red stripes on white on the front. Then some other color on the back. Green or orange probably.

Nothing easier, than making a striped shirt out of an old shirt you don't want, some tape, and a can of spray paint.

Camden doesn't have any cool punks, you should know that. It's all sold out now. The only guy who comes near to looking cool there is the guy who holds the sign for the boot shop. How punX:rolleyes:.

It's all about South London and Hackney now. Anyway, there's two gigs I know of tonight. One is in Bethnal Green Road, the main band being Gertrude, and there's Russell Square Squatwarming party, which will be better. It's a BIG squat. I think it starts 7ish.

I figured out how to get acid past the cops. It requires tin foil, strong deodorant, a piece of string and astroglyde.

When I've been carrying it and nervous I've wrapped the foil loosely in gum wrappers to make it look like its just a piece of trash.

Get a friend to do it for you. Unless you want to know how to trim one. In which case I'd give the same answer. Get a girl to do it though. They're better with hair, and she'll probably thing your mohawk is "hawt".
