I wore it today for the first time. Was a bit odd, but it always is when you wear a new article of clothing for the first time. Got a couple of cool comments on it from friends. People were shocked to see me without my jacket, as I'm so accustomed to be seen wearing.

They have pants that can zip off into shorts, maby you could modify a pair into sleeves.
They do pants with two zippers two, that can cut off into capri's/long shorts, as well as just shorts.

If you don't wash them, it will be fine. They will only fade.
In other news, I recived my awesome Clockwork Orange backpatch in the mail along with my 2-tone and Against Me! buttons. Backpatch is going on probably next weekend when my mom has time to sew, since I'm not handsewing that bitch.

Even if there was one it would probably be really cheap. It does sound familiar, though.

Sewing leather on a sewing machine might break your needle. Make sure you have a tough enough needle to use. My mom's friend got drunk and used her sewing machine for leather, and ended up breaking a bunch of needles.
And if you're going to sew leather, dental floss is recomended. It's very strong.
Dental floss in the machine or by hand?
Dental floss in the machine or by hand?
Yeah, I was just thinking that maybe dental floss can't really go through the machine. You'd have to have a lot of it, and I don't know where you get such a thing. But it does work well by hand.
Listen honey, I can't even sew on a patch by hand (I can but it take me hours).

Dental floss sometimes splits and frays and crap like that. Just double up your thread when you sew ands it works WAY better.

I saw this reallly cute skirt in Kensingtion(sp?) market.. It was Checkerd and the went out in this polka dot wavey part.. But sad thing is it was a little tight in the *** :( so i didnt get it.
It is hard to find good plain black shirts. I got mine at goodwill for a dollar, but I was lucky.

you could use an older logo than their most recent one. It might be easier then, because the logo in your avatar is quite detalied and could be difficult to paint. You could also try to use a patch (like off a hat) and sew it on your glove. That way it would rub off over time.
Read the first post of the thread, one method is up there.

(or can I go more then 12, like maybe 10?)
I've got my ear on 10G at the minute, I skipped a couple of gauges. I'd try for a 12, don't stretch it too fast or skip to many gauges, it'll turn out crap.

Cool, are tattoos really painfull?
eh, not really. i mean, professional ones don't at all really (or so i hear). doing them yourself hurts a bit, at least it does when i do it. but it's not really bad at all. then again, i think i have a tolerance for that sort of stuff.
Have you got any pics??
i usually don't post pics online. certainly not here. but since it's not really a picture of anything like my face or whatever, and since you kids know that the "OMG I"M MEG AND I"M DUMB" thing is, well, dumb, here's a blurry crappy cropped-out picture from when i first did one of them:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/cheeser1/Dsc_0039.jpg
it's still red a bit, since it was new. it's hard to get thick lines done when you aren't you know, a real tattoo artist with real tattoo artist equipment. i redid it recently (which is what prompted me to ask about tattoos) and it's still healing up from that. hopefully it'll be a little bolder and thicker (hard to say just yet).

alright, im about to embark on making t shirts, so can anyone pass along some political slogans (an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind) or perhaps some symbols from bands (the strike anywhere three pointing arrows, crass logo), or maybe even some quotable quotes from, say.... lyrics (from all the way in the back of the food stamp line its THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE LEFTOVER CRACK!).
cheers

I tried out my AC/DC stencil today, and it turned out horrible and made me waste a piece of canvas :upset: The stencil was too small and really crap. So then I decided I wasn't done and freehand painted a hammer-sickle onto a piece of scrap white fabric, and it turned out really good. I may attach it to some sturdier fabric and used it as a small patch. I'll take some pics when it dries.

I've got a hammer and sickle printed out, I was going to use it for a global studies project, but I never did. I think I'm gunna make it into a stencil, as soon as I stop being a lazy****.
I also wanna make a che shirt.

Hey, does anyone know how to get stuff for free? I plan on not getting paid alot (think $0.00 an hour (way less than minimum wage) ) for, well, the rest of my life, and I figured guys might know how to get stuff for free, other than the obvious, like dumpster diving (which I do quite often).
Thanks in advance,
-Nico

At least your making a Che shirt. Anyone who buys Che stuff don't deserve to bear his face on their chest.

I asked some kids one time who were wearing a Ché shirt what Ché done and they didn't know. They just thought it is cool to wear a t-shirt with him on it as everybody does, same with Nirvana t-shirts, it's like automatic cool scene points for them
Nico, you could collect Social Welfare and still not ahve a job!

A girl in my school had a Che hoodie with a star on the front. I asked her if she knew who the guy on the back was, her reply "No, I just bought this because it has a star on the front!"

Maybe cut it an inch or two away from where you'd normally cut it, fold it under, and sew it.

i just dont know where to cut it. should i cut before or after those stitches where the sleeve meets the body of the jacket?

this isn't exactly a diy question, but i figured i shouldn't post a whole new thread. i'm thinking of getting new shoes (well, i pretty much have to, my only pair is just about completely worn through the bottom). i'm not getting converse, because they're made in sweatshops now. i'm at the point where i can affort something besides random $15 shoes by a brand that exploits workers, i'm certainly not paying $40 for chucks from a company that does the same.
does anybody know if there are any shoes like it (for reasonably low prices, under $50 for sure)? what about those duane peters shoes (from vision streetwear, aka draven shoes, google either of those if you're looking for them, although vision doesn't really have a functional website)?

not cheap, but they're a worthy investment

I know you can buy the boards from,
http://www.scskate.com/skate/skateboards.php
or
http://powellclassic.com/products/decks_pc.html
I'd go with Santa Cruz just because they're way better.
