Hey all, new to the forums. I just found this demo i made waaaaay back in the late 80's. It brought back alot of good memories of those days. When i listened to it i got a laugh out of how much music has changed over the years. It's a tad on the commercial cheesy side of things :D but i figured i would just post it for fun. I used a Marshall 70 Super lead for this one. Enjoy!

Are you/Is the vocalist related to either David Lee Roth or Paul Stanley?
That song rules, and that's coming from a 15 year old.

Thanks man! Glad you liked it. It's funny that you mention that about the singer because a few people have said that he has a slight bit of those two styles in his voice except with a lighter edge to it.

Thanks man! We sent our demo to Atlantic records back in the very end of the 80's but at the time they were only looking for grunge style bands. The guy told us that if he had received this demo a few years earlier they would have signed us. It made us feel great but at the same time was a major letdown. I've been noticing lately that alot of younger people seem to like it so i think the music scene is changing or something. Maybe nowadays everyone is opening up to ALL styles of music instead of what the "record companies" tell what is popular or not. Who knows..lol :D

Jesus, reading through some of my old posts, and yeah my opinion hasnt changed on this song. So Van Halen 1984 sounding, buddy you should just get the boys back together who cares if the scene has changed, I'd come see you live in a second.

Not bad, maybe a little too commercial for me, but still probably the best thing I've ever heard out of the audio arena!

Hehe, you were right when you said it was cheesy. And yes, you singer sounds very very much like DLR.
I liked it, it just really really sucks that you guys didn't get signed in the 80s. But on the bright side, it looks like the music world has decided that the 90s were a huge mistake and people are listeing to more 80s music.
I don't think a record company will pick it up now, but you could always get the boys back together and release it independently.
4 out of 5 pairs of leather pants.
Hey! Leather pants are still in style. You just have to be cool enough to wear em. And short hair isn't an option.
Ya cool recording. I like the chorus lick. Sounds RWTD - EVH inspired.
hey, this is actually pretty good :thumb: nice job!

Dude, this song rocks! I listen to quite a bit of 80s rock, and this is one of the best songs from that genre I have ever heard!! The solo is kick ***, the vocals are kick ***, the drums are kick ***, the guitar is kick ***, the bass is kick ***. The whole song is kick ***!! Rock on!!

Sounds good for what it is. I personally hate this kind of music with a passion. But I suppose its pretty good. Loving the cheese, although I was hoping it would be a bit more... Devo?. :thumb:
P.s. Who said 90s music was a mistake?
