Yeah, you should have plenty more opportunities. They may even play another all ages show at some point, you just never know.
Plus I can always check them out at Ric's sometime. I just need to stand outside and I'm good.
"Although brought up on punk, indie, and classic rock, the boys of Shortstack have always striven to move closer to the root of the matter - tracing the energy of those respective musical genres back to their early sources. Shortstack understands how much Led Zeppelin owes to Robert Johnson, and that there would be no garage rock now without the rock-a-billy of the 1950s. They enjoy Lungfish and The Carter Family equally, and that coexistence makes perfect sense. Shortstack make rock and roll, without much care for what year it is. They’ve already made up their minds to make it for a long time.
"
I might go see them tonight.

Hey guys,
Just posting to say that my power supply on my pc blew a couple of weeks ago, hence me not being able to get online. I'm currrently trying to sort it out but due to work and stuff I haven't had time as of yet.

I usually just buy books. I'm not a die-hard when it comes to buying issues mostly because I spend too much money on music to keep up with monthly series. Plus monthly issues are usually compiled into books anyways after the run is over or whatever. Single issues are fun, but impractical for me personally.
Alan Moore wrote V for Vendetta, I'd say go after his stuff if you like that. Watchmen is his classic one but most of his stuff is good. Hollywood opted on From Hell and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and both of those are better than the movies. In the case of the latter, much, much, much better than the movie. All are in-print and pretty easy to find, so that's a bonus, too.
I'd say from there, just kinda sample stuff. Go to (comic) book stores and leaf through whatever looks interesting. Or pick something up from the library. Following artists and writers is also easy enough. If you like something by one guy, it's usually worth checking out their other stuff.
I saw this one comic which was heavilly black and green and dealt with characters wearing sunglasses and smoking pot.
I was scared out of the store.

I figured that buying the individual comics would be costly and more for collecting. I'll probably stick with books.

I just looked him up on amazon and was checking out his stuff. Watchmen was the one I picked out as looking the most appealing. Apparently I picked well. I might buy that when I finish reading Snow Crash (amazingly awsome book).

I've been to a few comic stores and I really enjoy hanging out at them because there's lots of interesting stuff and I always feel better about myself because no matter what store I'm in, there will always be someone nerdier than me. When I get a fare amount of money I think I'll plan on buying some stuff from my local comic book shop.
Thanks a lot man, that was very helpful.

Second funniest joke ever, according to CNN.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night and go to sleep.
Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. "Warson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."
"I see millions and millios of stars, Holmes" replies Watson.
"And what can you deduce from that?"
Watson ponders for a minute.
"Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies, potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteoroligically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerfulm, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. What does it tell you, Holmes?"
Holmes is silent for a moment. "Watson, you idiot!", he says. "Someone has stolet our tent!"

It means hardcore. When people use it, it generally means that they are militant, uniform wearing ****bags who listen to such bands as Tiger Army, hawthorne heights, dead kennedys and avenged sevenfold. When I use the term it just means I'm hXc (sic), or being sarcastic.
So yeah, it means HARDCORE. and for future reference sXe means STRAIGHT EDGE.

Hardcore is the most boring genre there is, but for some reason I seem to like seeing hardcore shows. Maybe because the drums sound cool at the local all ages hXc venue. Or maybe because hXc people are amusing. When I saw Rufio, they mentioned that they were singing a song about drinking, even though they don't drink. And then this dude yells out "STRAIGHT ****EN EDGE!!!". The bass player looked at him really funny.

Valentines day yesterday was wierd. Some people in our grade started this thing where about 50 year 12 students write cards to all of the students and staff members in the school. Kind of nice, but also pretty crappy when you have to write stuff to about 15 kids you've never heard of.

Well, I would like to use this post and vent out some anger. I'm currently taking Music Appreciation where we basically study different periods of music i.e. Romantic and Contemporary. My friend, we'll just call him Bob, starts up an arguement with a guy in my class whom we'll call Steve. The arguement was basically this... which is the better band Metallica or the Rolling Stones. Bob, being a self-proclaimed metalhead was for Metallica and Steve for the Rolling Stones. Earlier in class Bob had been telling this girl about all the crazy metal music he liked and was saying stuff along the lines of "Dude, listen to Motorhead they will make you wanna get in a fight."
I'm trying to take a nap because the class can get pretty boring when all you're doing for the next 50 minutes is listen to early chant music. I woke up from nap when I heard this being yelled from across the room by Steve saying: "Bob, shut the **** up, you have the worst taste in music ever." Steve was listening to the Rolling Stones on this girl's iPod.
Bob: You like stuff like the Rolling Stones, thats music that my mom listens to.
Steve: At least it's tolerable.
B: All the 19 year olds listen to that.
S: What? What are you talking about? Are we still talking about music?
B: Have you even heard Metallica? The bass and guitar harmonize perfectly and are so great. Cliff Burton is a god.
S: No, they suck. Everyone is trying to do their own solo and it's just loud horrible noise.
B: I bet you never heard Metallica name 10 of their songs.
S: <names songs from Kill 'Em All etc.> I've heard it and they suck.
B: How can you not like it?! It's awesome because it's thrash metal!!
S: I don't like thrash metal, though.
B: How can you not?!
The arguement had been going on for about 30 minutes and I could tell my teacher was getting sick of it. My teacher got up from his desk and said: "Bob, just because someone doesn't like your music, doesn't mean you have to force it on them! So do us all a favor and shut the hell up."
