Does it matter that the extent of my experience with the music of Mr. Beefheart is that I've listened to Safe as Milk once?

I went all art fag today and went downtown to a Picasso exhibit. It was fun wandering around pretending I understood the imagery.
Also, I was at a music store, and they had a rule that no-one under eighteen could buy a G.G. Allin CD.
And and and I heard Fairytale Of New York coming home.
Also, I was at a music store, and they had a rule that no-one under eighteen could buy a G.G. Allin CD.

Despite this, why would anyone want a G.G. Allin CD?

But still, you'd assume the average fifteen year old has heard the words ***, rape, and **** before.
Yea. A day at school is a million times worse then any amount of G.G. Allin CDs.

What song should I play at my grandfather's funeral? He died today, of all days, but actually it makes perfect sense to me. He was a fervently religious man; he's sort of the reason I believe, and the fact that he died on the day before Chanukah (equivalent to Christmas Eve), which this year just so happens to be Christmas, just seems right. It was time.

Erm, obvious suggestion by me, but Iron & Wine is probably suitable. Each Coming Night, Faded From The Winter, or Sodom, South Georgia...
Those are probably terrible suggestions. Sorry if I offended you.

No, it's highly likely that it will be an Iron & Wine song. I have to consider the lyrics carefully. "Faded From The Winter" is probably a good choice, but I might be able to do better.

I don't know if it's fitting, because it's first person perspective , but the Johnny Cash version of "We'll Meet Again" is what I want played at my funeral.

I looked through most of Sam Beam's lyric library and either "Faded From The Winter" or "On Your Wings" are probably lyrically the best. I may have missed one though.
"Faded From The Winter" does seem to be the most fitting. It's eerie how many of the lines from "Sodom, South Georgia" apply, but others are totally not what I'm going for. "On Your Wings" might work, but I'd have to retool it musically, because I don't think it's quite the feel I'm going for as it is on the record.
Thanks, BC. I'll look into that one as well.

Ah, being grounded blowzzz. At least I have lots of books and paints and my keyboard to satisfy me until Saturday. I have plans to construct a fort in my room that I will hibernate in and have artistic revelations and create masterpieces in until then. Afterwards, I party.
I have band practice on friday, and Amoeba is tomorrow.
